Thanks for the stimulating conversation

You want an honest response to the question? My thoughts;

1) How the hell are we supposed to know what's to come in the rest of the 21st century, and whether or not it'll overshadow the events of the 20th? We're only 14 years in. It's a bit early to say.

2) Why are you even making this comparison? Of all the centuries in history, why do these two need to be compared? Do people sit around debating whether the 16th or 17th century is "more important"? It strikes me as a really pointless discussion.

A bit, but mostly no. It was largely inspired by the show Misfits, which I watched a little while before writing Resistance. This story will be vastly different from Elendra's spamfic, with no gods and such.

I figured there wouldn't be any gods in this one - some parts of it just reminded me of Elendra's so I couldn't help but wonder if you drew inspiration from it.

...is...is that Jeri in your avi?

Yes.

I re-watched Tamers recently with a friend of mine and got inspired to use "scary Jeri" as my new avatar.
Aw fuck it, why not?
Was this inspired by Elly's spamfic, per chance?

Second seasons are aways disappointing. I only watched two episodes of SOA's second season and I had to stop because it was so dumb. They should've stopped, I liked the ending of the first season, it could easily have been the end of the anime.

Except, they were trying to closely follow the manga. And the manga did not leave L's death for the ending.

I actually feel the need to congratulate the Death Note anime for doing such a fantastic job at staying true to the manga. For the vast majority of the series, everything that happens is almost exactly the same as how it happened in the source material, and you don't normally see that in anime. The only thing that was off was the ending, and even then, only at the very very end did it start to look like a different beast.

But then, I guess every anime has to end differently from the manga. A shame.
Cautiously, Nissa approached the translucent red sphere. She held her hand out to touch it, and her eyes widened slightly as, indeed, it did in fact radiate some sort of heat. The warmth almost felt strangely inviting…

“If it’s from those dirty bandits, then I doubt they had any idea what the thing is used for.” she spoke with disdain. “Also, if the bandits dropped it then that means it’s stolen — if someone in the village recognizes this as a stolen good, won’t we be accused of being thieves?”
Nissa nodded slowly as she listened to Juno’s hypothesis that they were all alike, just “trying to make our way in the world”. It was true, of course, but she still had a bit of a hard time accepting the fact that she’d found others like herself so easily. “I agree.” she spoke up, her talons transforming back into hands a bit awkwardly. “And, I’m Nissa, by the way…” she added, following along with the group.

When Juno found a mysterious object in a pouch on the ground, she quickly became curious. “What is that?” she asked.
