Can anyone approximate what time is it on the setting?

i'd say you pretty much can say it's whatever time you want it to be at this point.

So, I just met my first Shiny Pokemon ever... During the short span of time where you don't have any Pokeballs yet. Sersiouly, game?

I like it. Reminds me a little bit of dinotopia. I have some questions: Where would we start out? In an urban city? Stranded in an island jungle?

Well like I said, it's a medieval setting, with all the kingdoms and such having been rearranged due to how much things have changed. It makes sense to say we'd all start out in one of those kingdoms.

Said kingdom still needs a name, though, and maybe a bit more development...

I join roleplays based on its main premise, not on who makes it. This roleplay's premise is really interesting, since it's recursive.

Glad to see you're interested.

That was a positive reaction statement from us, Kaga.

Oh. My bad. ^^"
Nice to see you're interested! ^^
@Everyone:

If you're here, then that must mean you're a fan of my work.

Therefore, if you have the time in your schedule to participate in one additional RP, I totally recommend checking out the new link in my signature.

It's nice to know I've sparked fresh inspiration in your mind, Kaga.

Thanks for the idea, by the way.

Nice reaction, Kaga...

What?

I was inspired.
Stay with me, here.

Medieval fantasy generally has all sorts of epic and monstrous creatures, dragons in particular quickly come to mind, so why not dinosaurs?

I mean, picture it sort of like this,

or this,

Did those images provide enough inspiration for you? I hope so.

Anyway, here's what I had in mind for the concept of the RP:

It all started with a normal medieval fantasy setting... until all of a sudden, the earth changed. No one was sure who or what caused it - probably some fools messing with magic far too powerful for them to handle - but all at once, the world found itself covered in monstrous reptiles. The beasts came in all shapes and sizes, conquering the land, sea and air, some of them tall enough to tower over the largest of castles, some with a taste for human flesh. The creatures meant the destruction of many human settlements - the deaths of hundreds if not thousands. But, we humans are strong. We managed to survive, but things were never the same. Kingdoms fell and new ones rose from the ashes; civilization reorganized itself. Some of the monsters could be captured, tamed and bred in captivity, but they were still only for the few - the nobility and the rich. Speaking of the rich, they were able to live inside walled cities, capable of keeping most creatures out, while the lower classes on the kingdom outskirts had no choice but to live in much harsher conditions - where the threat of attacks from these beasts constantly loomed over them.

---

So yeah that's the idea in a nutshell. :D I doubt I'll be too pedantic with the dinosaur specifics, though. If you know what a stegosaurus looks like then I probably won't ask you to do any further research. In fact, given how mysterious the dinosaurs would be to our characters due to the lack of easily accessible information, I'd say those of us here with the most minimal knowledge on dinos would know plenty more than our characters. In fact, who's to say they'd even call them "dinosaurs"? Odds are they'd have some interesting new names for the creatures.

Additionally, I have a question I'd like to ask - how do you guys feel about other mythical creatures in this RP? I figured magic would still be present, although probably not too common, as it would be harder for most to learn and teach in this setting. As for mythical beasts, I'm a bit on the fence. What do you guys think? Do you want to see a dragon and a T-rex stand next to each other? Or no? I'll probably go with whichever opinion is more popular.

And per usual feel free to comment with any other questions, concerns, or general indications of interest.
