It's mainly a matter of keeping bosses challenging. Bosses tend to scale up in this RP to match our power levels or even exceed them, while still mostly remaining lore friendly. You're about to see it with Ganondorf and Volvagia both.
Rawk, sorry, but I do agree with what people are saying. However much effort was put into the previous one doesn't really matter because the original was preferable to this new one, which is a bit generic comparatively. I would prefer that you stick with the original version, but I could approve this one if you really, really want it and if you write out the weaknesses. Kalama, for example, was never weak to cold or ice despite being designed entirely around fire, not even when he started out with total immunity to all things related to fire and heat. Ice and cold affected him just like any normal character would be affected. So while I would really prefer you stick with the original, cooler version, if you're dead set on using this new version at least write out the elemental weaknesses.
The five had managed to make it to the uppermost level this time, and with no barrier over the tower itself due to oversight by Ganondorf, they crashed down into Ganondorf's personal quarters. The warlock had been playing an organ at the moment they crashed down, but Bee would likely notice a distinct lack of an imprisoned Zelda this time. Since Link hadn't awakened all the Sages yet, Zelda had not yet revealed herself. At the sound of five (or eight, if Okuu, Cirno, and Pete followed) people crashing through his ceiling, he abruptly stopped and sat silently for a moment. **"I don't know who you people are, but if you outright bypassed my defenses like this, I'm afraid you must be dealt with."** His voice was deep and gravelly, much like Ajax's. His tone, however, was more sinister, where Ajax's was intimidating. Ganondorf stood, revealing his impressive height, taller even than Ajax, though he wasn't anywhere near as thick. In fact, the guy was fairly slim. He wore jet black plate armor that, with the vastly improved graphics quality and potential changes the Crucible Piece made, looked far more impressive than it originally did, and was obviously more protective. **"I know what it is you seek. I will not surrender it!"** However, what he showed them was not the Crucible Piece, but the same thing he showed Link. Ganondorf raised his right hand, back towards them, and revealed the glowing Triforce on his hand with the upper triangle, representing Power, glowing brighter than the rest. Dark energy swirled around his hand before he turned the palm towards them, and a wave of dark energy far greater than what the Hero of Time felt slammed into them. The next difference became apparent soon afterwards when Ganondorf drew a massive sword from its sheath on his hip and stood with his sword arm closer to them, ready for the battle. Bee might turn out surprised to find the electric tennis seems to be completely cut from this battle. --- As they entered, they found that, unfortunately, Darunia hadn't lasted long. They entered to find the room just as empty as the Hero of Time did, with the central platform almost beckoning to them. Once the three of them stepped onto it, Volvagia herself exploded out of one of the holes in the platform and slammed her claws onto the platform, letting a roar escape her mouth before charging the group. Samus sidestepped and slammed her arm cannon into Volvagia's head, sending the dragon sprawling to the side. Samus raised her arm cannon as Volvagia quickly recovered and stalked the group like a cat would its prey, obviously calculating her next move.
> > Nice to see you doing a fresh start. Chell's fine, but I'm not sure how you'd handle Runner's rewind ability. Plus, even with that ability, she still seems a bit underpowered somehow, but I can't put a finger on why that is. > > I made her and Chell more as a team, not too much into combat (goddess knows we have more than enough in that department) but able to help in the puzzles because, frankly, they both come from puzzle games. I might be able to add stuff to Runner but I can't think of anything atm. All right, they're both approved.
Yeah, but after this rewrites will require an artifact to do, and will use up your entire opportunity. So if it was to give multiple upgrades, you'd just get the rewrite.
Nice to see you doing a fresh start. Chell's fine, but I'm not sure how you'd handle Runner's rewind ability. Plus, even with that ability, she still seems a bit underpowered somehow, but I can't put a finger on why that is. Bee, you do realize Chaos did make a bridge of solidified magma leading right to the door, right? The barrier's in the same place as it was in the game, inside the castle. Am I the only one that remembers that barrier?
How Cirno was knocking on a door that didn't exist was anyone's guess, but with Chaos's magma bridge formed through raising and solidification of said magma from the pit far below, they were able to enter Ganon's Castle and were greeted by a pair of Beamos that promptly fired their eye lasers at them simultaneously. It likely wouldn't take long to take these weak creatures out, and as they entered the main chamber of the castle, they were greeted by the dark magical barrier guarding the inner region of the castle. As they approached, the Master Sword shone more brightly in the presence of such dark magic as what had created the barrier. Samus searched the room before speaking in response to Link and Rawk's remarks. **"Don't worry yourselves too much. Worlds within Cyberspace only exist in standalone instances, only existing when someone is either playing the game, reading the book, etc. Or while we are in it. Once we leave, this version ceases to exist."** She noted that of the two doors visible, only one was unlocked. Naturally, she made her way to that door and went through it, finding the boss door in the next room and a massive humanoid creature standing before it. Link and Rawk would likely recognize Darunia here. He stared for a moment before shouting, **"I don't know who you are, but you'd better leave. Volvagia's awakened and I plan to defeat her, with or without the legendary hammer."** He turned and went through the boss door, which locked behind him. Samus, however, was not phased, using her grapple beam to swing across the ravine, attaching it to the ceiling of the massive cave. She scanned the door, noting no traces of energy. It was simply a massive locked door. **"Stay back, a power bomb should get us through this door."** She entered Morph Ball and set off a Power Bomb, and the door melted to a pile of molten slag within moments due to the extreme heat, far greater than even that of the Fire Temple.
Bel, Kaze, please post your sheets to the Characters tab and I'll review them there.
How did I forget Ungoliant? I was just talking about her the other day with a couple of friends who only knew the movies, so I decided to inform them of the best stuff set in Middle Earth. XD Sure, Ungoliant sounds awesome. And since it was never said she was killed, that does leave a lot of freedom without having to screw up any existint lore. Perhaps we're the reason Ungoliant is never heard from again, because we kill her. Sound like a plan?
I completely missed Rawk's post, lol. I'll get a post up real quick to get us advancing so I can make good on what I just said.
