Yeah... Hadn't gotten around to reading the IC yet. Jerkchicken, I do need you to change that post, because you just took out a heavily upscaled boss in one go just by getting into the RP, and we really can't have bosses being curbstomped like that. It's not me trying to force my plans into action, it's simply a thing we can't have happening. We've made it clear throughout the history of the RP that bosses are to be kept challenging and never to be stomped like that. I'd have made a similar note if someone came in and stomped Ganondorf without ever giving him a chance to become Ganon. EDIT: You know what, I'll just do a quick workaround. Consider it further screwing up of the world by the Crucible.
She's alive! And the site's finally fixed, too. Much more stable now with that rewrite Mahz did.
Right, and that is listed in her sheet. As long as your sheet gives a way to come back from death or be outright immune to it, you're fine. If not, you're screwed unless another player's character can and wishes to resurrect you and we approve of it. That's what I was getting at with that point.
Okay, let me make one thing clear, and nobody, no matter what position you hold or how long you've been here, is exempt from this: if your character actually dies and it's clear they died, there's no coming back. Unless your character sheet includes "immortality" as one of your abilities (which is an ability that is currently strictly reserved for Kalama simply because he's the noninterfering plot guide dude who never ever participates in combat; and is also reserved for the lord of the Void, for obvious reasons since he is the Void and you can't kill the Void and because we'll likely never even encounter him), you can die and death is permanent unless I approve for an outside source (outside source referring to another player's character wanting to resurrect yours, the resurrection cannot originate from your own decision) to resurrect that character. If Samus gets into an irreversible situation where death is inevitable, she dies and I make a new character. I'm also stepping down from my GM position for now and making running this a collective effort. This is how it basically was already, this is just making it official. I'm only here to give official word on character acceptance, and my characters, if I have to make any more, all have to be approved by you guys. I will also be having discussion on any newcomers and I will only be accepting the characters as a formality, it's really up to you guys. This is so we can, hopefully, create something we can all enjoy and work to make this a unique Multiverse-type roleplay. I'm not about to abandon this just because of a few days' inactivity on my part, not after four years of this thing going. If it has to completely change into something totally unlike what it was, so be it, so long as it stemmed from that four-year-old roleplay. That brings it up to my next point. This "prologue" will serve to use the Crucible of Worlds as a means to make those changes happen and be explained in an IC sense. Once we get the changes ironed out, whether it's from this one world or several, we're out of the digital universe and into the rest of the Multiverse. Before anyone asks on what I mean by my second point in which I am officially stepping down as GM (but I am remaining as owner, a title people don't realize is separate from GM) in saying it's only to make it official that it's a community effort, we've always had the person (or people) most familiar with a setting lead us through a world, whether Dawn or I were included in that group or not. As I said, this is only making it official that this RP is a player-run effort rather than a GM-run one. My only condition is that we keep with "random schmuck monsters are unscaled while bosses upscale", since it's just no fun without a challenging boss to break up otherwise meaningless combat with something big. Let's make this a good RP, guys, and I hope that with that announcement you won't feel obligated to wait up on me (which was really one of the main purposes of making it, as I feel this is the best way to keep this alive with my haphazard posting schedule). Anyone wanting to take over Ganondorf is free to, but I'd still like to do Volvagia at least. She's not planned to be as long since there's less people, but I do have a specific way I'd like Volvagia to behave in battle. I'm not as picky about Ganondorf.
By the way, if anyone is feeling like this is going too slow, you guys are all free to move on. I'll post the strategy for a boss here and then you guys can take over when I'm unable to keep going.
Middle Earth is the first real universe, since we do need complete changeability for stuff like that. Here, there's still that slight limit to what the game provided, I simply made the game more organic and more able to respond to our presence. Next internet world has yet to be decided. Personally, I'd like to correct Other M's story by having a properly characterized Samus in the game after we all kill whiny teenager Samus, but that can wait for when I get an actual phone and piece together a post throughout the entire shift. Zero, I appreciate that, thanks. I am working very hard to make an enjoyable roleplay, but, as you also noted, having a full-time job does make it rather difficult, so I really need you to start pulling a bit more weight, Grand. I don't mean to say you haven't been helpful in the past, but lately it does seem you've been more focused on your characters. I most likely will have Ganondorf moving on to a new stage soon with the Master Sword in play now. I'm thinking Ajax could use a spotlight here, so I'll be going with your idea of specific stages where each character has a moment where they're at the greatest advantage. I'll also be working to give Ganondorf more personality here, and I do have a lot of time today due to being off tonight, so I should have a more substantial post up today. I do agree that, in hindsight, the whole "piecing together" thing was dumb, but it's too late to reverse that specific instance. I will, instead, be looking for other methods of continuing the fight.
And the Biggoron's Sword, apparently. Only sword you have in the final Ganon fight, and it does something at least. I think that's why they were saying that, since the Biggoron's Sword was able to harm him, it just couldn't kill him. I dunno, maybe I'll keep it that way for lore's sake, especially since Bee's the only one really influenced by it. Chaos uses magic and I've already mentioned why Ajax isn't useless here. The games never did truly specify whether sorcery would be useless or not, and for the sake of keeping Chaos useful I'm gonna go with magic still harms Ganon/dorf. Cuban Pete, I think, is just kind of there at the moment, as are Cirno and Okuu. I want to give Pete something but I'm having difficulty figuring just what to give him. Also, Prost, that whole sequence with the Iron Knuckle actually did make me chuckle. Nice.
I know, I was simply using Ajax as an example as to how the fight could have gone. I realize it's not within his character to step in on a duel like that. Though, your statement does give me some ideas.
I'll get a post up in a few hours, after work. Also, simply because the whole "only the Master Sword can even hurt Ganon/dorf" thing came from the CD-i games, apparently, that's getting retconned. I'll have nothing to do with that crap here. We'll chalk up the healing to active use of magic on Ganondorf's part, and that wounds from the Master Sword can't be healed outright like that.
Still here, yes. Supervisor's catching on to me using the break room computer like this, so I can't do checks as often during work. This won't be an issue when I get a phone. As for the above, I did explain why Volvagia couldn't be hit, because there's solid rock between Link and Volvagia. I specifically said she's *burrowing* through the rock in the walls and ceiling. Unless Link's arrows pierce rock, they can't hit her. As for Ganondorf, if Ajax had assisted he has an ability allowing him to overpower magic through brute strength, and since magic is protecting Ganondorf, I'll let you figure it out. I am well and truly trying to run this RP well. If it's not enough for you, then leave. I'd rather resolve your issues, but if my efforts aren't enough then I don't know how I can help. As it happens Omega's attacks had completely slipped my mind. If I'd remembered, I'd have definitely noted the effects they had. It's happened before, and Grand is definitely not complaining, nor is Rawk complaining about the Knights' failure to hit Volvagia. And you do realize the Varia Suit only negates environmental heat, right? Fire attacks still harm her just fine.
