Not sure I wanna read back based on tje last two pages. My brother being a typical teen? Jon is my brother, if you didn't know. Also, forgive any typos. Typing on a phone. EDIT: By the way, what was this character decided to be against the ethics of the RP? That's really tugging at my mind right now.
I'm afraid Halindra's denied, then. More than half of us don't want any more madness, so... yeah. Plus, you have Deadpool, isn't that enough insanity without an incarnate of madness being put in the mixture?
Despite what Jerkchicken remembered after flying out of the tunnel, and very clearly seeing a dead dragon in the tunnel behind him, Volvagia again burrowed out of the wall and bathed the platform in fire. Deadpool's chaingun rounds glanced off the tough dragonscale, but his grenade managed to stun the dragon, giving Samus the opening she needed to scan it. *"Hylian Magma Dragon A little-known subspecies of dragon often found in nests of high population, they are of such numbers that local inhabitants believe it is a single immortal creature. Individuals are hardy, but not like most dragons are. Main threat is in their numbers."* Samus was not too surprised, but she was quick to relay the information to the others. **"Heads up, we've got a lot of company."** Had the area not been superheated already, she likely would have switched to thermal to assess the numbers they were dealing with, but she didn't get much more time to think before one of the dragons burst out of a lava pocket just behind her and grappled the bounty hunter, then dragged her into another lava pocket out of sight of the other avatars.
> Oh I'm sorry I thought you guys were gone long enough to not care about the game as is common here. And as such the game is dead unless someone else takes over which would mean > > -A: If taken over we'd move on to doing something in a different world rather than faffing about with two fights; one being the easiest boss in terms of challenge and the other being the last boss which regardless of finality given everyone's ludicrous strength would be a challenge to not splatter into a red greasy streak save for some arbitrary bullshit. > > -B: Game is dead so it don't matter and it ends with a goofy death of said boss In case you didn't notice we upscale the bosses so that we *don't* splatter them all over the place. It's a policy we've had since the beginning of the RP and it hasn't changed just because we've rebooted. And my inactivity was mainly due to work and preparing for school, things that most people fully understand. Had I found time to get on, that announcement would have happened sooner. If this is gonna be your attitude I'm not sure I want you here, but we'll see what the others say. You really haven't painted a good picture of yourself so far. EDIT: Jon, I'm really not wanting any more madness characters. If the others are fine with it, okay, but my vote is for no here.
True immortality is, as I said, reserved to Kalama and the lord of the Void. Cirno is fine because she's following a piece of lore and is obviously not a combat character, and Deadpool's given limits that don't exist in canon. And as I noted with Deadpool, all upgrades go towards that immortality curse even with those limitations placed on him, and even then he's not immune to death, he just doesn't stay dead when he does die.
You know, I'll do that, actually. That sounds more fun than a single Volvagia. It'll also give me material to respond to Deadpool, so give me a moment to edit. Maybe I should have waited until I ate something. I dunno, this whole deal of oneshotting a boss just struck a seriously raw nerve with me due to a previous character we had to deal with (the guy that almost broke the entire roleplay as I mentioned before). Also, I had Jerkchicken forced out after apparently imagining one-shotting Volvagia and having brains splatter all over the place, but what you suggested sounds a bit better which is why I'm still editing.
I do want to post a reply to that, but it'd only be a couple sentences long...
Yeah, that's a big enough upgrade that it'll take up both of what you were getting. The other veterans that are left will get two abilities from this piece, while newcomers all get three abilities. EDIT: Last thing on the bosses topic. If you're running a world and someone comes and yanks the rug out from under you with a one-shot kill to a boss, you are free to do a workaround in a similar manner to what I did here. I am not exaggerating when I say outright annihilating bosses will not be tolerated.
((Cut in the absence of an option to delete a post.))
> > ...we've always had the person (or people) most familiar with a setting lead us through a world... > > Now that seems like something I could get behind. Or whoever picked the world, perhaps, with a rotating GM sort of a thing where people take turns choosing worlds and GMing. That's essentially what we had. If someone hadn't chosen a world in a while, we'd ask if there was anywhere in particular they'd like to see us go. EDIT: Forgive the double post, I got caught up with this stuff. Anyway, workaround's posted, I feel like an ass, but I really can't stand the idea of a boss fight being outright ended in a single punch like that. EDIT 2: Jerkchicken, I do hope this isn't a preview of what's to come, because I accepted those abilities in good faith that they wouldn't end up abused. Curbstomping bosses is considered abusing those powers.
