Yeah, it's mainly how Samus is depicted that really grates on my nerves. They make her seem like it's her very first mission, when it's supposed to be her penultimate mission (followed by Fusion, after which she retires). But even in Metroid/Zero Mission, she was the strong and silent type, so in order for her depiction to make sense, it would have to have been during her time in the Galactic Federation. And what really irritated me was that Samus had all of her upgrades the whole time, but you had to wait for Adam to authorize them to use them. It's a very stupid way of pacing the game, and they should have done it the standard way and have you find them in the environment. If Samus were depicted correctly, she would have gone, "Screw you, Adam. I'm activating them all right now."
I'll go with Samus instead of a second faction. That would be a bit easier.

Honestly, I don't see how we could possibly defeat a hunting party of Preds, let alone a small nation 0.o

Trust me, the metroids could do it. The stealth of the Predators would be useless against the metroids, who "see" by sensing the life energy of potential prey. And their weapons would be weak against them as well, if they could even harm them at all. I don't recall the Predators having cryogenic weaponry. Freeze weapons are a bit uncommon compared to other forms of weaponry in science fiction. The only instances I can think of are Samus's Ice Beam from Metroid and Mr. Freeze's Freeze Ray in Batman.

Fortunately, there's only 15 metroids in the RP. But one of 14 of those could be genetically tagged to evolve into a Queen, and if that happens, god help you all.

I agree.Although I feel the Flood and the Orks would give them a run for their money. The metriods as well, if they get more numbers. I feel really bad for guys like the Sluggers, though. They don't really stand a chance against anyone..That might be why they're my favorite faction to appear so far, though.Oh, and I have a question similar to Kal's. Would us who have a faction already be able to bring in a single character as well? I can say that if I am allowed a single character from another universe, that they will more than likely be enemies with my faction. If they were buddy buddy it'd just defeat the purpose, in my eyes.

If we can, I'm putting in Samus and going ahead and saying there's a Queen Metroid. If I put in Samus, she'll balance out the metroids quite effectively. She'd be a very good option for metroid population control, especially since she has a lot of experience fighting them. After all, she did completely wipe them out at one point (only to have the Space Pirates clone them with residual DNA they somehow got and bring them back into existence, even if the ones the Space Pirates made were flawed).

A nation of Predators..*Shiver*And I thought the Metroids were scary. At least they're adorable when they suck the life outta ya..

Yeah, they do have a strange sort of cuteness to them, I gotta hand it to them. At least until they reach a certain point in evolution (meaning the Zeta Metroid and higher).
Raidne, you never answered my question. Could I create a sentient nation to hold me over during the lulls in the actions of the metroids?
My internet was down yesterday, but I'm starting on that post now.
The vast majority of your nation's people will be completely inconsequential. What you'll be putting in a post are decisions made by the leadership, negotiations carried out, etc. There's a lot of creating characters on the fly without filling a form, and it takes a lot of thought to be able to think on a national level. However, I find that the challenge is greatly welcome.

And I actually haven't played Other M. I watched all the cutscenes and don't like the story, but I heard the gameplay saved it from being totally horrid. I've heard the gameplay is amazing, and it certainly looks amazing from what I've seen. But my favorite Metroids will always, and I mean always, be the Prime Trilogy. And since Metroid is my favorite franchise, that makes my three favorite games of all time the Prime Trilogy, with my favorite game of all time being the second one, ironically, especially considering that it's the least popular Prime game.
I'll be sticking a post for Aadab in soon, assuming my power doesn't go out because of this damn storm. Not sure why I wasn't sure Aadab would see the explosives since her eyes have the same effect as the Lens of Truth.

Anyway, post coming soon.
Nation RP... (This is kind of in the board for nation roleplay, lol)
Well, I'll never, ever toss more than one metroid at anyone, nor will I toss one at anyone that can't stand a chance. I chose the Orks first because they're really tough and seem to be one of the most likely to figure out a way to beat them. I'm also considering tossing one at the Flood when he gets his intro up.

I'll probably make another sheet for a nation that's a bit more, well, sentient than the metroids. And numerous. I'm thinking of bringing some Crysis in if it's fine for me to make another sheet.
