Bio

So... Bio's are a thing now. Fancy.

Anywho!
25 y/o guy, currently student and living by myself, yada yada.

Veteran Roleplayer, with over 7-8 years of experience in both Pen & Paper and text based, with minimal LARP Experience. I have a great interest in fantasy settings and tends to dislike Post Apocalypse, or generally anything involving guns and modern weaponry. Gimme a sword and the ability to throw fire, and I'm happy.

I have relatively high standards and find myself somewhat disappointed if my posts are below 500 words, preferring ~1000+ whenever possible (sadly, not always easy). At the same time I expect similar standards from my fellow players. I also have a tendency to play female characters in spite of my being a guy, mainly because I find it more entertaining than playing the big burly guy.

Aurelia's eyes were locked squarely on the dragonness, making sure that she didn't get the chance to do anything without her seeing it first. While her focus was on Evvie, her magic continued to pour into the scythe, building up power for what she figured would be the decisive attack.

Then, without warning, Evvie took to the sky and, after gaining some altitude, started a steep dive towards her. When does she learn? She thought, tilting her head back as Evvie continued to fly higher up.

She let go of the scythe with one hand, and split her stream of power into two like a river forking into two smaller streams; one going towards her scythe and the other stream saturating the air around her with magic. Working as quickly as she could, Aurelia took hold of the shadows around her and stretched them. Guided by her free hand and magic, they extended upwards and in front of her, surging towards Evvie as a group of sharp spikes that would skewer her, if she continued her mad dash towards the sorceress on the ground.

I may do my CS tonight, or tomorrow night.Just a couple of questions.--We start with nothing but the clothes on our back and what's in our pockets right?--We have all our memories accept how we arrived here, but is this a parallel universe? Or do earth-rules still apply.--Will there be any "exotic" creatures, or just earth creatures?--Do I have to be a mythological being you've heard of, or can I make one up because I have a couple cool pictures I'd like.)(Or perhaps I'll bust out my epic drawing skills.)(They're not very epic)Also I'm about to PM you about a magical ability I want.

You start with nothing but a set of clothes, and perhaps a few odds and ends in your pocket.
You remember everything except how you got there, seeing as you went to bed and woke up in this new place. And Earth-Rules still apply if you're talking about laws of physics etc.
There will be exotic creatures. There will be those that look like Earth Creatures, but there are also some that don't.
This RP is built around mythological creatures, and I don't have to have heard of it, so long as you can provide me with a link with info about said Mythological creatures.

Also At Some point I want this please.

Well, I did say that some semi-intelligent creatures as pets could be possible, so I won't say no :P
And posted!

Sorry for the late reply, guys. Things have been a little busy here, and I didn't quite feel like posting when I had time due to all the other things I was writing :/
Theá gently pushed a hoof against the flask offered her. "No thank you. While I greatly admire Luna, alcohol is not to my tastes." She set her hoof back down and looked at Crashing, noting his almost fin-like wings; how the feathers seemed to almost stick together thanks to whatever oil was covering them. She spared a quick glance at her own wings, wondering how the oil covering his feathers differed from the one covering hers. All pegasi, and many winged creatures, have their feathers covered in some oil which makes them waterproof... How is his different? Thicker, I suppose?

She pushed the thought away. It wasn't important. Instead she said, "Dartfish, huh? " She looked to the lake in front of her and lit her horn. One, two, three, four Dartfish materialized in the lake and started swimming around near the surface, circling around each other in no discernible pattern. She knew they were saltwater fish and wouldn't do well in freshwater, but they weren't alive or real, so it didn't matter much.

She continued to watch them, never looking away and focusing only on the four fish. One of them, she noticed, started chasing one of the others. Her mood soured again, shoulders and wing sagging, head hanging a bit lower than was usual for the proud huntress. Anyone that knew her would, without a doubt, pick up on it and realise that she was not in the most of moods.

Why? She wondered again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Woulda been rude to decline it. 'Sides, I haven't really tasted whiskey before. Thought I'd try it." She stuck out her tongue and brushed it with a hoof. "Not my brightest moment."

She took a few steps forward, walking far enough to be halfway between where she crashed through the wall and where she'd been blown away from. She sat down, wincing as pain flared through her body again. Anaesthetic spells or not, she still hurt quite a bit of she moved around a lot, she realised. That and she was tired and winded; despite her best efforts to protect herself the low had still knocked the wind out of her, and what she assumed was a small internal bleeding - non-lethal - didn't help much in that regard.

She had intended to listen in a bit on Arcon and Amifera's discussion, but something else stole her attention away. That 'something' was an alicorn like the rest, but she was an eccentric one. And did I mention Oddball?

The way she displayed the braided mane as a trophy from a fight (or spoil of war, as she said) unnerved the white pegasus quite a bit. It unnerved her so much that she raised both her front hooves to her own mane, holding it protectively against herself while staring with wide eyes at Silver Sweeper. "You just keep your hooves away from my mane," she said loud enough for said alicorn to hear, her face a comical mix of terror and disbelief.

I have a problem with rule #6.My characters tend to curse.I also have been known to get carried away while writing. (I'm sure you read the bio I had for my character kapu, sometimes I do twice that.)P.S That is a fantastic header image, much approval.

When I said "keep writing in check" I meant make it readable. Cursing is completely fine ^^ As for the background, all I ask for that is that it's not one large block of text, but divided up in a couple of paragraphs for an easier read. I don't much care about the length so long as it properly explains your character :)

And I'm glad you approve of the header image :3

~Frenetic Raptor~
While it isn't absolutely necessary, I would appreciate it if you wrote a description of your characters in addition to the pictures. There are things, small nuances, that can't be seen in the picture. A written one just makes it easier to get an overall picture.

Again, not a requirement, just a request.
Well... You just go ahead and make whatever you want ^^
Name: Lily Strider
Age: 28
Sex: Female

Alternative Form: Nine-Tailed Fox - Half-Fox & Full Fox forms.

Human Apperance:

Lily is roughly 170 high with a somewhat athletic build with a few muscles, but nothing extraordinary, being visible. Her hair is dark brown and falls around her shoulders in gentle waves, reaching just past her shoulder blades. A pair of equally brown eyes peek out from beneath a pair of light eyebrows, with a straight, and a little small, nose. Her lips are of a faint rosy colour, giving some the impression of a permanent lip gloss. She's nothing extraordinary when it comes to womanly assets either, being medium in just about everything. She is, in fact, rather plain and just another girl.

Shifter Appearance Appearance:
Humanoid/Half-Fox version

Shameless steal, I know, but it was the best picture I could find that was halfway decent. Please note that she doesn't necessarily wear those clothes, though. Larger version of the picture is here: http://i.gyazo.com/463cbc1acfb47850519cd571ead46606.png

Jet black hair so long that it reaches to the base of her tails, often kept in a braid in this 'shape' as it simply is easier to deal with that way, although there is enough hair to cover where her human ears are. Her eyes are a striking summer blue with slitted pupils, giving her a slightly feral look. She still has the nine tails, each of them white in this form as well. Each of the tails are about as long as she is tall. A pair of sharp fangs jut up from where her canines would be, giving her toothy smiles a bit of a dangerous edge to it. It also makes her bites that much more painful. Another thing that should be noted is that, in this form, she is the epitome of feminine beauty in accordance with the legends, with full lips, long eyelashers and so on; something which she's actually rather fond of, if she had to say so herself.

Where her nails are usually kept short, they are quite long when she's half-fox, with an ever so slight point to them, and coloured a purple-ish blue. Aside from that her hips become ever so slightly wider, as does her bosom become a fair bit larger. Where before her body had been somewhat tough thanks to her developing muscles and athletic life-style, they now softened; giving her a body devoid of hardened muscles but rich with pleasant curves. Her facial structure also changes as well, becoming more sharper and a little angled; more fox-like as opposed to the roundness it had before. Her eyes, especially, change from slightly being placed.

In her Full Fox form, she is covered in a coat of white fur and is about the size of a Great Dane (dog), albeit a few centimetres smaller which puts her shoulder height at about 80 centimetres, and built in a much sturdier way which gives her some almost wolf-like qualities. Her body-length here is roughly 140 centimetres. Her nine tails, in this shape, are almost as long as her entire body, stopping just short of 120 centimetres in length. Her eyes are also yellow in this shape, but instead of a sickly and feral yellow colour, it's almost golden and shines with intelligence.

Abilities:
Athletic and flexible, skilled at gymnastics, and a very fast and agile runner. Also views herself as quite the good singer with “the voice of an angel” if her old pupils were to be trusted. She's also quite proficient at hand-to-hand combat (Jiu-Jitsu).

Powers:
True to the mischievous and trickster nature of the Kitsune in the legends, Lily's magical skills are focused mostly around illusions, enabling her to trick the senses of those around her; create ghost sounds and touches and make them see things that are not there. She has yet to fully master this ability, even if she knows that her current skills are far superior to those of a normal human.

She also has a secondary magical gift (although not as well practised as the first) which allows her to drain life energy from the area around her and use it for various purposes ranging from creating a light source to weaponizing it (the former being the most used). It's also important to note that she can't drain life-threatening amounts even from the smallest of animals, only small plants such as grass or flowers, and even if she takes some from somewhere else, it costs a some of her own energy. This also means that her attacks aren't very powerful, partly because she's scared of doing irreversible damage to herself, and because she doesn't want to even try to kill some animal by draining it completely, and also because she simply isn't capable of doing so. She can make her attacks more powerful by draining a lot of power, though it takes quite a bit of time.

Backgorund:
Lily was born April 14th in Ireland, near the east coast in a small town called Curtlestown by which there was a large forest in walking distance. Ever since she was born she always felt different. Somehow... she enjoyed spending time in the nearby forest more so than she did spending time with other kids her age. She'd always ask her parents to go for a walk and have a picnic in the forest just so she could be among those lovely trees. Furthermore, she enjoyed running and exercising; feeling so full of energy that it just had to be spent. The result was that she practised Ju-Jitsu from the age of ten and right up until that fateful day in April 2018 where she left her home and disappeared with only a short warning.

She had friends in school, but only a precious few that didn't think she was weird for feeling like she was something she wasn't. She always did her best to laugh it off when she was made fun of, but it didn't always work and she often found herself needing to be comforted by the friends she had. During her years in school, she grew fond of both Gymnastics and Biology, the latter of which she found out later in her school life was a source of valuable knowledge if one wanted a healthy body, and the former simply because it allowed her to spend more of her boundless energy.

When she graduated from her third year in the second cycle, having passed the Leaving Certificate Examination, she went on to further study biology and gymnastics, having decided on becoming a teacher to spread her love of exercising, as well as educate children to better take care of their bodies; she was all too conscious of how poorly some people took care of their bodies and wanted to prevent that in the next generation.

By the time she was 24 she finally found herself with a graduation certificate in her hand, and a job soon after. Nothing extraordinary had happened in her time when studying to become a teacher, save perhaps for the all-nighters study sessions she had pulled becoming less and less of a problem; almost as if she was meant to be up at night rather than day. She still held those precious few friends near her, contacting them every now and then like they contacted her.

For four years she worked as a teacher in both biology and gymnastics in a small school near her hometown, doing her best to teach the children everything she knew about her subjects. And then came the day; April 14th, 2018. She woke up, not as a human, but as a large fox-like creature, although she had not one, but nine tails. She felt... scared, to begin with, then shocked, and finally pleasantly surprised. It was a joy that she was finally what she'd always felt like she somehow was. But even then, she was shocked - shocked to find out that she had the body of a mythological creature. It took her nearly a quarter of an hour, but she finally found out how to revert to her human form, during which time she discovered something else. Not only was she capable of changing from full nine-tailed fox, but she was also able to take on the shape of a human-esque Fox. She kept the large, black, furry ears, the nine white tails, a quadrature of sharp fangs where her canines would be as well as slitted pupils and strikingly blue eyes.

Wanting to go exploring her new ability and body, she wanted to call in sick for work but when she reached for the phone only to see its colour change from white to indigo blue. She was, to say the least, confused. Especially since it returned to being white when moved her hand away. For the next several minutes she worked on trying to recreate the same thing, whatever it was, which lead her to discover that not only could she change the colour of things, but she could also conjure orbs of light that seemed like a mix of gas and liquid. She had magic, that much was obvious, but how much? She wanted to find out but realised that doing so in her own house likely wasn't the brightest of ideas - Even in a small town there are prying eyes, and everybody knows everybody. So choosing to not practice her new abilities anymore - for the time being anyway - she picked up the phone and called her work, saying that she would be absent for the day, and possibly the next since she didn't feel very well at the moment.

Once that was taken care of, she immediately stepped out the door, locked it behind her and ran off, shifting back into her full fox-like shape as she did, and soon found herself speeding across the ground towards the forest with what could pass for a gleeful smile on her face.

The next several days were spent running, training, and practicing, going to work only after the third day, and then using every bit of spare time she had in the woods. She discovered an affinity for illusions as well as manipulation of energy - life energy especially. It wasn’t a pleasant way that she had discovered that particular talent, if one were to be honest. It had happened when she had been holding a flower while practicing the offensive capabilities of her abilities. It had happened quickly, but she did feel some sort of connection to the flower and felt it wither away and die as she ‘drew’ upon it. She attempted to do the same thing again and this time watched it. The small flower whittled away, becoming nothing more than a blackened husk of what it once was.

A few weeks passed with no one discovering her secret which, considering the small size of the town she lived in, wasn’t a very strange thing - Or so she thought. Halfway through the fourth week she was approached by a group of black suited men. They were from the United States and asked her if she was willing to join their training program for Shifters in the States. She agreed, but only on the condition that she could tell her parents and tell them of the situation.

It took some convincing, but she was finally allowed to do so.

The next two years was spent with training, increasing her skills at both illusions and Fox Fire, as she had named her Energy abilities - courtesy of the legends. She became a skilled infiltrator and spy, although she only found herself in the field twice and on tasks that were relatively safe.

Her life was pleasant with a few close friends, decent pay and comfortable quarters in a compound specifically made for the Shifters. She had only become more fit in the time since she was recruited, and quit her old job, but it wasn’t to last.

One the 25th of April 2020, she awoke leaning up against a tree in a place she had no memory of, with what looked like over a hundred people around her either asleep or waking up themselves.

Personality:
She's usually kind and energetic, preferring to move around rather than sit still, and a bit mischievous from time to time. She's patient - as is necessary when being a teacher - and does her best to try and understand both sides of an argument before making any judgement or taking any sides. Still, she is restless and often starts to fret if something doesn't go quite her way. If someone she knows is in danger she'll try to help them, but in the instance that she can't she usually resorts to pacing and muttering to herself. She's somewhat used to loneliness, but will still do what she can do get at least some contact with other people. Promises, to her, are extremely important, and if she makes someone a promise she will do her best to keep it, but she also expects people to keep their own promises in turn.

Other:
Her physical prowess does not change when shapeshifting except for when she takes on the full shape of a Nine-Tailed Fox where she becomes noticeably faster, and she's only as strong as one can expect an animal of that size to be. In her Half-Form her tails hold too little strength to be of much use aside from utility (carrying a towel to her when exiting a shower, for example) and are, as such, useless in combat. They can be used to soften blows aimed at her, if she covers herself, thanks to their thick fur. She is currently training them in an attempt to be able to use them for more than carrying small items.

She is very proud of her looks in the Half-Fox form.

Personal Quote: "There are few things more terrifying, in this world or the next, than the smile of a Trickster."

I set up the introduction post for the RP. Go ahead and post your characters. I'm looking forward to see what you come up with :)
~Legends Became Reality~

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

It all started two years ago, in the year of 2018.

I woke up as, not a human, but as a large wolf/human hybrid.. I was… freaked out, to say the least. I had no idea what was going on. But I wasn’t the only one.

I took me about an hour but I managed to change into the shape of my human self again… somehow. When I turned on to watch the morning news the first thing I saw was a clip of a bunch of soldiers surrounding what looked like a really large lizard. I would have believed it was only an overgrown komodo dragon had I been anyone else, but waking up the way I did I realised that it was anything but. I was both relieved and frightened to realise that it was an actual dragon, and though it was almost four metres tall and looked like the perfect killing machine… all I could see was the fear and confusion in its eyes. It shied away from the guns that the soldiers held, constantly looking back and forth for a way to escape. It didn’t even seem to realise that it had wings to fly with.

And just like that, it changed. One second it was a four metres tall dragon and the next it was a boy barely out of his teens. If I hadn’t been fully convinced before, I was convinced now: I wasn’t alone when it came to becoming something else.

I remember it as being one of the biggest shocks in the world, and what followed did not help in the slightest. The United States government took notice which, in hindsight, wasn’t much of a surprise. They saw the potential in that dragon boy that showed up on the TV and immediately sought him out and recruited him.

He was the first of many.

Over the next several months more and more of these creatures showed up; people capable of shapeshifting into anything from dragons to harpies. We became collectively known as ‘Shifters’, and numerous tests and gruelling training revealed that not only did Shifters possess the ability to change their physical shape, but they also had latent magical abilities. Magic… a strange word in a modern world. A fairy tail concept made real, and it frightened a lot of people. Protest groups arose, demanding that Shifters be put down or at least controlled and regulated; separating ‘Them’ from ‘Us’ was the demand. It never happened, though not for lack of trying.

Time went on and Shifters became core in many operations of war, be it spying or direct conflict. Dragons, as one might guess, were exceptionally good when it came to direct confrontations, given their tough scales and flaming breath. Others, like the Nymphs, were spies of top quality. A woman that can wrap any man around her little finger and get him to tell her anything she wants. What could be better?

It wasn’t so last, however, not even with more and more Shifters popping up every month. One day the entire world of the Shifters, and a small group of humans was turned on its head.

25th of April 2020, a group of a hundred Shifters and twenty humans woke up in a world that was not their own. Enormous forest on one side, empty plains on the other and a blue sky above was what greeted them as they awoke. Waking up as a Half-Wolf was a surprise in and of itself, but waking up in an entirely new world was far worse.

- Entry from an anonymous diary.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Setting

Alright guys, the setting is as following. A hundred Shifters and twenty humans have woken up in a strange place that they have no memory of ever going to. To the west there’s a large empty plain with nothing but grass in sight. To the east there’s a large forest, also so large that even those capable of flight can’t see the end of it.

There is no immediate source of food and you only have one set of clothes of your choice (some people sleep naked. Don’t want to put them through an RP stark naked). Water is nowhere in sight either, but there might be some in the forest seeing as how there are some stag & doe-like animals if you wander into the forest a bit. If you’re lucky, you might even find a semi-intelligent creature that you could take for a pet (if it doesn’t bite your fingers off thinking they are celery stalks).

The world functions pretty much like Earth does, but the animals are different and not all of them are friendly. Expect potential attacks if you wander too far into the forest or out the plains. Basically, the water is drinkable and so are most fruits, nuts & berries, etc.

The beginning of the RP will be about settling in and trying to survive; find food and water. Build shelters and then, after that, possibly explore. Not all of the Shifters will agree with each other, nor will every human.

And important fact to note is that while these humans don’t seem to have anything to begin with, they slowly start to develop powers. Some might gain telekinesis from one day to the next (or even discover that they possess it upon arrival), while others might find themselves capable of controlling water the same day. Others might only discover it after a day or two. It may even be that one of the humans wake up as one mythological creature or another

This is only the prelude, as these humans will become Shifters at some point in the near future.

Future things may come such as other intelligent beings getting introduced, raids, minor fights between some people that don’t agree (groups forming), and so on. Nothing is set in stone yet.

One thing that’s important to note is that a Shifter can transform into mythological beasts only, so normal ones such as Jackals, cats, bears, etc. are a no-go.

Rules

1 - No godmodding. I will not tolerate it. The only exception is if you ask the other user if you can have his/her character do “x” and “x”, or ask them to make a Co-op post with you to make a longer discussion or other easier to write.

2 - Do not bring OOC into the IC. You may not like a certain player for whatever reason, but that is not an excuse for you to stab that player’s character in the back.

3 - While I don’t want to put in a minimum count of words, I would appreciate it if people did their best to keep their posts at 300 words or more (preferably more). This counts for everyone, even you. Yes you!

4 - Story above all. This ties somewhat together with #2. The story of the RP should dictate what happens and so on. So pay attention to what your fellow characters do as it may affect your own character.
- Character interaction is heavily encouraged.
- I am not adverse to multiple characters, but keep one your main character. If you have an idea for some secondary character you’re welcome to use that one as an NPC, or sorts. They could be a friend to your character, or just something who’s there. Just try to keep the number of such characters low, and keep them within the limits of the “Main Characters” in terms of power and such.

5 - Meta-gaming. A big no-no that will force me to give you a very big boo-boo if you do it. You may know something OOC, but your characters doesn’t unless he/she has actually witnessed it or heard it. For example, Dave Johnson a Were-Ferret Shifter won’t know that Dina and Dave made out deep i the forest without being there to see it, or being told.

6 - Please keep your writing in check. I expect at least decent grammatical skills, proper narrative with Italics for thoughts, quotation marks and so on. Also, no Wall-Of-Texts, please. They’re not pleasant to read.
- This rule does not mean that swearing isn't allowed! It very much is. This rule is only here to tell people that there are standards for the level of writing.

7 - No NSFW material. While relationships and certain levels of gore are allowed, things such as sex or otherwise are not allowed (as pr Site Rules).

8 - Have Fun!
