~Legends became reality, and now we fight~

I encourage any players (and potential applicants) to read through all of it, as not doing so will result in not knowing what kind of world you play in.

If you wish to join, please read all of the following, and then post a character. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me.

News:
A thing that is to be noted is that Bleeding (what happens to Commander Jones, for example) will eventually happen to all Shifters. This means that over time the characters will gradually gain small traits that their Shifter form has. A Lamia Shifter might gain the serpentine eyes of their form, or a Giant Shifter might get more pronounced muscles, or grow slightly taller. Note that Bleeding will not be major changes, only small ones that--while noticeable--won't make your character's appearance completely alien. 

We humans have always thought that we were alone in this world. We always thought that the earth was round, and that we were a dominant species on our planet. We were convinced that the mythical creatures such as the Basilisk or the Dragons were myths and nothing more.Likewise, we had always believed that Magic never would, or could, be. It was simply just impossibly. Or so we thought.

We were convinced of so many things long ago, and were so sure that we were right that it never even occurred to us that we might not be. We never thought to ask ourselves: “What if we are wrong?” 

Three hundred years ago—in the year 2240—people still believe that the earth was round, still scorned those who claimed otherwise, and laughed in their faces. The earth had never been round; it had only ever been flat—A disc. One of four, circling each other in what came to be known as The Weave. 

Concepts such as “Space” and “Universe” became meaningless, since all of that was swiftly proven wrong that fateful three hundred and twenty two years ago. While most of our notions about Space was debunked, some were still true. To a degree. We did travel to the moon, yes, but that day we discovered that it was a fragment of another Disc, which had travelled through the Weave had since kept ours company. 

You may ask yourself now, “How can you travel from places such as America to India if the world is flat?” It’s easy to answer, but difficult to understand. As mentioned, humans thought magic to be nothing but a fantastic idea made up by storytellers. But it was not so. The reason such travels was possible was exactly because of magic. A ludicrously powerful enchantment had been cast on our Disc aeons ago, which made it so that once you reached the end of the Disc, you are immediately teleported to the other side of the Disc. exactly opposite of where you were before. 

While the utter destruction of every truth we knew about our world was devastating, it also brought about incredible opportunities. Not ten years had passed before travel and trade between the Discs had been established. The four Discs were different, yes, but they were also similar in many ways. Every Disc was inhabited by humans, though some were taller than us, ‘Earthlings’, and others were smaller. A more easily recognisable difference is that while our hair colours are primarily brown and blonde, those of the other Discs vary from blue to green, some even with Pink hair. 

But even then, the appearance of the Discs and the breakdown of the aeon-old enchantment wasn’t the biggest change we had to endure. Things we only believed to be fantasy, stories and legends, were true. Dragons rose from the earth, nymphs emerged from the lakes and dryads sprang from the forests. Creatures thought to only be simple legends appeared before our very eyes from one day to another. 

The reactions were as different as they come. Some governments chose to fight the unknown, where others chose diplomacy, sensing that these creatures were more than just simply beasts.

With mighty behemoths and powerful magics on their side, the Mythics, as they came to be known, demolished any offense against them, but never struck back, quickly forcing the aggressive nations to back down and follow in the footsteps of those who sought peace. 

The diplomats managed to secure a sort of treaty with these creatures after months of negotiations. We would let the Mythics live their lives, and we would live ours. It changed quickly, however, as only a decade passed before it became something more. These creatures, dragons, minotaurs, everything, approached the humans and asked to integrate them into civilization. They wanted to mix magical and non-magical creatures. 

I remember tales of how a small Pixie—a forest spirit, only twenty centimetres tall, but very strong for his size—laughed at the diplomat when he called humans “Non-magical.” He told the diplomat that humans were magical in their own right, but that it was dormant and needed to be awakened first. How, he wouldn’t say.

Things went fine from that day onwards, we humans and the Mythics living together peacefully, as did the four Discs with only minor disagreements which were always quickly resolved with meetings between the world leaders. Yes, everything was fine until ten years ago—after 312 years of peace—when one of the other Discs amassed an army and marched to one of the others. 

One of the earliest agreements between the four Discs was that each had their own government, and none would try to impose on the other. If there were issues to be discussed, it would be done in a meeting of the world leaders. It was after one such meeting, where the warmongering Disc had proposed a collective government; that the leaders of each Disc would join together to form one government. It was shot down almost immediately, two of the Disc Leaders voting no, with the third one not giving a vote.

It was during the following year that the Disc called Endola brought up arms and attacked Malnica, the one who hadn’t voted, quickly defeating them and forcing them to take up arms as well, and join Endola in their quest to enforce a single rule of the four Discs. If they couldn’t get it with Diplomacy, then they would get it through force. 

Malnica had been a pushover, but as Endola shared their technology and secrets of magic with them, they became a foe to be reckoned with as well. One might question why they didn’t fight back once they had gotten the power to do so, but as Endola’s gaze landed on Earth and Clericath, there was no time to contemplate it. 

We fought back and defended ourselves to the best of our abilities, but our war machines were useless. not even our Mechas had any chance against the supernatural might of Endola and Malnica. Clericath did what they could do defend us as well, but when the other two Discs came at them with warriors, sorcerers and mages born of the union between their own Mythics and their own humans, they couldn’t hold out for long. So, knowing that time was short, we turned to the ythics, the creatures of legend walking our Earth, asking, begging, them to help us. 

They told us no; they wouldn’t fight for us. Instead, they offered an alternative. They offered to give us what the Mythics on the other Discs had given their own humans.

Ever since that Pixie way back when, had said that humans had magic of their own, but that it was dormant, many had tried to awaken them in every way imaginable. From ritual magic to whatever means you could find in those ridiculous books, to the use of sheer willpower. Nothing worked, and we remained without magic. 

The alternative they offered was this: A human’s magic was dormant, but it could be awakened if they were to be infused with the essence of one of them. Research on the subject began immediately, with the help of some of the more magically inclined Mythics. 

Half a year passed, and the first stations in which a human could become what would later be named a Shifter, or Twin Soul, were built. In the following year after that, more and more of them sprouted up, with academies following, Mythics themselves taking the roles of teachers and guides for whoever was found compatible with their own type of creature. 

So, for the past nine years, we’ve been creating hybrids between humans and mythical creatures, creating soldiers with magical powers of one kind or another to fight and protect our Disc. 

These warriors are then known as one of four categories: Titans, Demons, Fae, or Spirits, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, and each as terrifying as the anger of an entire species made manifest.

In this RP you will play as a Shifter in your third (and final) year of training. You are a person—not quite human, but not quite mythic either—of amazing power, capable of bending the world to your will or tearing up trees by their roots. You possess magical powers the likes of which should only exist in a fantasy universe, and you’re trained to kill using those powers.

The RP will take place in the Academy and the outside areas. Classes and the likes will be something happening “Off Screen,” so the roleplay itself will be in the afternoons, evenings, during dinner time, and so on. 

Player interaction is encouraged, and friendships and relationship being in place before the RP begins is also allowed, and encouraged as well. Just make sure that you agree to it with whoever controls the person you want your character to be friends with. 

Now, Earth is at war with Endola and and Malnica, with Clericath being our only ally. It’s a war scenario, so combat can (and will) happen. The RP is GM controlled, so to speak, meaning that I (Kapuchu) am in charge of controlling teachers and such, as well as potential enemies from the opposing Discs. Whatever you do is up to you, basically, but should the alarm (I.E - a post from me) sound, then you will be forced to line up near one of the Teleport Areas mentioned in the “Academy” section.

A small note about the technological level of the world. It’s future, and high-tech, so it’s some of what you can see in some Animes and Mangas that deal with future stuff. I’d say that Infinite Stratos is closest to what I was going for. Look it up, find a few screenshots to give you an idea of the level of technology. 

We’re not talking light saber levels of technology, but holograms and the likes definitely exist. If you have an idea for a gadget then give me a shout and I’ll tell you if it’s too advanced and whatnot. Chances are I’ll see what you have in mind, and just give you the greenlight. 

Also, for the sake of convenience, every character should know English. The world has moved so far into the future that it is the global language, and everyone has it as a second language and is, at least, as good as the Scandinavia when it comes to English (~86% or more of the population capable of having a fluent conversation in English).

Now that we have that out of the way, here are a few core rules for the RP.

1 - No Godmodding
Pretty much self explanatory. Your characters are your own, and only you control them. Ergo, others cannot control them, and nor can you control theirs. In the case that you want to have a conversation between your character and someone else, contact them and do a coop post. 

2 - No Powerplay
Yes, you are incredibly powerful people, but you’re not all-powerful. For example, not even the most powerful Shifter in the world would be able to defeat one of the Mythics. Commander Jones would have his ass handed to him on a silver platter if he tried to fight Sylphide, for example. It also counts for other characters as well. If one of them is a Demon focused around speed and precision, you, as a Fae or Titan, won’t be as quick as them, but they wouldn’t be as magically powerful or physically strong as you, either. 

3 - No excessive gore or mature material
In accordance with the site rules, don’t do excessive gore, and don’t go into unsafe territory. If you want to “rock the world” of some character (be it a “secondary” character who’s a friend of your “main” character or some other player) then do a fade-to-black. Mild stuff such as kissing or flirting is perfectly fine, though. 

4 - No Metagaming
Something you know as a player isn’t something your character knows. For example, just because you’ve read the character sheet of the other characters doesn’t mean that your character knows every little bit about them. What your character knows is what your character has been told, and nothing more. 

5 - Format
Please use proper grammar and spelling. Italics for thoughts, quotation marks for speech, and so on. I also expect a minimum post-size in accordance to what the “Advanced Roleplay Rules” state. Long posts are encouraged, but please don’t make them any longer than 2000 words long if it can be avoided (unless they are coop posts, in which case 2000 should be easily achievable) as reading so much about a single character could get tiring, and feel like a chapter of a novel rather than a Roleplay post. 

6 - Multiple Characters
As hinted at before, it’s allowed for you to have secondary characters whom you control. They should never take the spotlight, however, as they are but the side dishes to the main dish that is the character you have a profile on. You can mention such additional characters in your character sheet, stating that you might be friends with them, or they could be a brother or sister. Eventually, they could also be the boy/girlfriend of your character if you so desire. 

7 - Posting turns
The RP is turn based, meaning that you post once, then wait for everyone else to have posted before you make one again. This is to keep all of us in the same timeline. And if you want to have a longer conversation with someone I suggest doing it in a coop post.

Now that we have these two out of the way, let's get onto some of the more important things. For example:

The Disc which initially attacked Malnica, and had them join in their quest to take over the other Discs, forcing their own rule and government over the others. They typically have hair colour of shades varying between light blue, almost white, to a navy blue and almost black. Their most common eye colour is a brilliant green, with amber as the second most common. Brown is almost never seen. They are almost identical to Earth Humans in size and proportions.

Like the other Discs their main forces are hybrids of their own Mythics and their humans. Some of their forces also carry guns with magical properties, and other magical weaponry.

The Disc attacked by Endola, occupied within a few weeks of fighting and then quickly joined Endola. Standard height is around two metres, with the tallest reaching up to almost three metres tall. Being bald is a fashion statement for the men, so many have little hair except for their (often) long beards. The women, however, often have extremely long hair, with some wearing it in long braids down to their ankles, though most having it at waist length at most. Colours for their hair and eyes span the entire spectrum, some say, even though their natural hair colours are red, golden yellow, brown and orange, with eye colours being somewhat the same. 

Their fighting forces weren’t very strong, so what they did have was replaced by Endola’s magical weapons, and Shifters/Twin Souls transformation technology.

The only Disc aside from Earth who voted ‘No’. Their average height is around 160 cm. They are a bit stockier than Earth Humans, broader with more natural muscle for the men, with many of the women having the hourglass figure that so many Earth Women seek. Aside from their usually lower stature, they are the ones most similar to Earth humans in terms of eye and hair colour, though red/fiery hair is far more common among them. 

Their technological level is slightly ahead of Earth, having discovered how to make the Shifter Hybrids a decade earlier than Earth had. They use magic more than Malnica and Endola does, preferring to avoid standard weapons, though they still use the Ironwood swords and shields that their own Dryads make. They are currently doing their best to defend Earth while they get a fully established army of Shifters up on its feet.

Not very futuristic, but still high-tech, though without flying cars and the like. Mechas were the standard fighting force, and can still be seen here and there, but mostly as decoration and reminder that, despite their size and firepower, they were useless. 

There are numerous nature reservations, as well as massive training areas for the Shifters-In-Training. 

Standard hair colour is brown, blonde and fiery/ginger, with eye colour being brown, blue, or green. Some changes may occur following the transformation to a Shifter.

A Shifter is a human who has shown compatibility with one type of magic from a certain type of Mythic creature, say a dragon or dryad. They undergo a process where they are forced into unconsciousness, and is then infused with a fraction of the essence of a willing Mythic matching what the human is compatible with. 

The process takes several hours, but during this time the subject’s body changes, depending on what kind of magic they are getting infused with. A person who is infused with the magic of a gorgon would, for example, grow in size to twice what they were before, and have their lower body transform into that of a gigantic snake, often eight metres long or more. As one of the few gender specific Mythics, if the subject was a man he would then become entirely female, even in his(or her) humanoid form (other such instances are the Nymphs). 

After said process is completed, they become known as a Shifter or Twin Soul, and gain enhanced physical prowess (higher physical strength, faster reflexes, higher endurance, and a much more durable body), all thanks to the magic now awakened in their body. Of course, how much their body is enhanced depends on what type of Shifter they have become, as a Titan class Shifter would always be more durable than a Demon class Shifter. The majority of these benefits, however, falls away when they take on a human form, but immediately comes back the second they change back into their secondary form. Some also gain enhanced senses such as smell, sight, hearing et cetera, though this primarily falls to those who have more beast-like forms such as the Dragons, Werewolves, and such. Most Fae class Shifters also have enhanced senses, though not quite to the level of those who have beast-like forms. 

Alongside their empowered body comes magic. The vast majority of Shifters deal in magic in some ways; some more subtly like the Valkyrie, and others in massive displays of might like the Dryads commanding nature itself to aid them. 

Taking the dragons as an example again, their magic is used to empower their own bodies, granting them far more physical strength and endurance than any other (except, perhaps, the Earth Elementals). They have very little practical magic, and what they have is breaths of fire, lightning, and so on. 

In short, a Shifter is a soldier, a warrior, of supernatural power against which even the mightiest war machines is useless, as evident by the fact that Earth was woefully outmatched when The War first started. 

On an off-hand note, a Shifter's clothing may change, or altogether disappear, when they shift. It all depends on the Shifter's wishes, or necessities (A Dragon does not need clothes, after all)

Since the appearance of the Mythics, as they are often called, humans have tried to categorize them, following their nature of putting things into boxes to make it easier to understand and cope with. The same goes for the Mythics and, by extension, the Shifters—or Twin Souls, whichever you call them. Four categories have been created for them, each of them giving an outsider an idea of what the Mythics and Shifters from those categories can do. These categories are called ‘Classes’. Of these classes, the list is as follows: Titans, Demons, Fae, and Spirits, with the latter of the two overlapping from time to time. Following is a brief description of what one can find in each of Groups, as well as a few examples, and what said examples can do.

Elementals, Dragons, Gorgons

The Titans are notorious for being large, even huge in some cases, with the standard size being that of your average villa house for the large ones, though certain types of Elementals being only as large as a tall human, and most Gorgons spanning only 10, or so, metres. In most cases they rely on brute force, size, and their ludicrous endurance to plow through enemy lines. They are the typical front liners, able to take far more punishment than others of the Demon, Fae of Spirit classes, but are usually slower. But do not, however, assume that every Titan is slow. Some are surprisingly quick, despite their size. 

While mostly relying on brute force, they still have magical abilities such as the Dragon’s breath, Elemental Magic, and powerful Gaze-based abilities. Typically, the larger the Elemental, the less magic they use—with the humanoid Elementals being the heavy magic users.

Kitsune, Valkyrie, Harpies

While the name ‘Demon’ sounds ominous, it is not necessarily a sign of evil or malevolence. No, the sign of a Demon Class Shifter is their typical humanoid size, with few exceptions, as well as powerful magic. While they, like most Shifters, have superhuman strength and endurance, they are not as powerful as the Titans when it comes to brute strength, nor do they have as much raw magical power as the Fae. The mark of a Demon Class Shifter is their speed and complex magics. The Valkyrie, one of very few Mythics with healing and support type abilities, focus on a mix of swordsmanship—using their magically created Runic Blade—and magic. Imbuing their sword, and bodies, with magic they deliver quick and devastating strikes while supporting their allies through various means. Likewise, the Kitsune is lightning fast, darting through the battle field, distorting the area with powerful illusions and lethal bolts of energy formed from the life energy around them, be it from plants, animals or willing allies. 

While more fragile than the Titans, the Demons are often incredibly difficult to hit, courtesy of their amazing speed and wide variety of utility magics and abilities across the board. However, the raw power in a Demon is never to be underestimated, for while they rarely reach the levels of a Titan or Fae, they are still very much capable of destruction.

Dryad, Fairy, Elves

Most would not think that anything about the word ‘Fae’ can be dangerous in any way, but those who have so much as sparred against one of the Fae Class will know of their titanic destructive abilities. Where the Titans are the ones with the brute force of muscle, the Fae are the magical powerhouses, with the more powerful being able to level entire city blocks in single blasts of magic. 

They are neither as quick as the Demons, nor as tough as the Titans, but what they lack in defense and maneuverability, they make up for in magical defense in the form of shields and barriers, as well as magical firepower. They are the artillery of the Shifter Forces. 

The Dryads, being in tune with nature more than any other, are your run-of-the-mill Druids, able to bend the nature to their will, bringing down those airborne with powerful roots and vines from the ground. In some cases, they create Ironwood Weapons for Demons or Titans to fight with, should they desire it or lose their own if they already had one. Fairies, on the other hand, don’t use the forces of nature itself, but rather what nurtures them. Light, both sun and moonlight, is their weapon of choice, and they’re generally known as the most powerful sorcerers in existence, despite their relatively short size varying from 20 centimetres tall to the size of an 8-year old child. But even if they are only 20 centimetres tall, they’re still physically strong enough to lift a grown man.

Nymphs, Gnomes, Banshee

The ‘Spirits’ are the non-combative forces of the Shifters, with few of them having any abilities that are useful on the battlefield. They are the infiltrators, spies, saboteurs, and more. Among the three examples, each of them serve a specific role. The Nymphs are the infiltrators, and one of the few gender-specific Shifters, as any and all men who are discovered to be compatible with the Nymph Magic will, without exception, become entirely female during the “Process”. Even in their human form they are changed to female. A common trait among nymphs is their otherworldly beauty, only adding to their already effective Seductive Magic. 

The Gnomes are the saboteurs, being small and quick, able to get through places unseen and pick apart machinery, or poison water supplies. They are a pest to even the faster of the Demon class, being incredibly hard to hit what with their childlike size and high agility. Not much else can be said about them.

Then there are the Banshees. They are widely known as the best spies bar none. Their ability to walk through solid material, as well as hover and turn partially invisible makes them unmatched in the field of espionage. But while they’re able to walk through walls, they’re also able to set up fields of magic which prevents other Banshees from wandering through the walls.

Remember, Recruits, that even if an enemy or ally of yours belong to a certain class, it does not mean that they are necessarily incredibly strong and durable for being a Dragon, nor are they necessarily magical powerhouses as a Fairy. The strength of every single Shifter varies, no two are equally strong to begin with, though you can always train to become stronger!

It is called nothing save just “The Academy” and is located central China an hour’s train ride from a town called Longnan. It is a huge compound, spanning an estimated 23.000 square kilometres, with 6000 of those being in-door areas alone, and roughly four times the size of London. It is located in the middle of a mountainous and forested area, sporting massive forests, valleys, plateaus, and large grassy plains on all sides. It was built 10 years ago, the structure of the Academy itself finished within the same year that the process of turning humans in Shifters was completed and perfected. 

It is a place where all Shifters and their teachers live, and is several square kilometres in the building itself, fashioned with dozens of training centres, restaurants, small malls, living quarters and more. The size of it is so immense that there are train-like carriages travelling between the different sections of the Academy, making moving from A to B much faster than would one have walked. In some ways it’s an entire city in and of itself, although it doesn’t have everything that the nearby city Longnan has, so some go there on their days off.

The outside areas owned by the Academy are even larger, easily reaching the size of 200 square kilometres. These areas are used for field practice for the Shifters, allowing them to test the limits of their power, speed, and endurance. Every twentyfour hour, a group of Mythics restore the area to what it was like before, making sure that the damages done to the environment are reversed. 

Classes are usually held with all Shifters being in the same massive auditorium, with one or more veterans of war, as well as a Mythic or two, holding lectures on tactics and different combat scenarios. 

Aside from the standard lectures, there are two other primary education types, one of which is where the Shifters are divided into what kind of creature they are. They are moved into smaller classes where the education is much like the average college classes, with tests, some small amount of homework. The primary purpose of these classes is the teach the Shifters of their abilities and how to use them. 

The third, and final, type of ‘classes’ is the field classes taking place in the open fields. Such classes are focused around combat and practical lessons on their abilities. Where the second type of lesson is for learning about what kind of abilities they have and what they do, these lessons teach them how to actually use them, and how to counter other types of attacks that may be aimed at them. 

Sometimes they train in groups of only their own type of Shifter, sometimes by Class, and other times they are mixed between all of the different Classes and Shifters, performing various tasks given them by their teachers, or just fighting it out to best learn how to defeat those larger, smaller, faster, slower, weaker, or stronger than themselves. 

In the four corners of the Academy are located teleportation stations, allowing for Shifters to be teleported to the far corners of Earth to respond to attacks in a matter of minutes.

Full name is Christopher Jones, but no one calls him that. He is the head of the Shifter Army, the highest authority and, ultimately, the one who gives out orders for just about everything. He’s a Dragon Shifter, and he boasts to be the most powerful, something which he backs up every time he’s challenged. He stands at an impressive 2,3 metres tall, or 7’6 feet, with clearly defined muscles rippling beneath his skin. It’s never been officially stated by himself, but according to some of the teachers in The Academy, it’s his Dragon Magic leaking into his human form, making him taller and stronger even when not shifted. Overall, he’s an intimidating personality, with short-cropped, down-brown hair and cleanly shaven at all times. A pair of steely grey eyes only adding to his gritty appearance. 

Personality wise he’s generally apathetic, caring more about keeping the enemies out, and the populace safe. He cares little for the individual soldier, claiming them to be unimportant and not worth a damn unless they do as they’re told. Silence and obedience are, in his opinion, the two most important virtues anyone can possess.

Ikari is a Kitsune, or Nine-Tailed Fox. Some might call her a Gumiho, but what most don’t know is that the Kitsune and Gumiho legends overlap. She is one of the beings who appeared three hundred years ago along with the other Mythics. She is the teacher of the Kitsune Shifters, having agreed to help them master their newly gained fire. Like any of the mythics, she is exceptionally powerful, capable of throwing large sections of the Academy under powerful illusions. 

She is what most would call a beautiful woman, standing at 175 cm (5’9), with a soft and curvaceous body, yet well taken care of. Her hair is long and seemingly silver in colour, flowing down her back in graceful waves, interrupted only by a pair of large fox ears atop her head of the same silver colour. She also has nine large, silver coloured tails swaying behind her at all times, all of them as long as her entire torso and head, but varying in size depending on how much room she has around her, so as to not have them get in the way. A pair of slitted, golden eyes finalize the look, almost always shining with mirth. 

She is usually kind, but is also perfectly capable of being strict and, sometimes, downright unpleasant if someone has angered her for whatever reason. She’s a trickster through and through, not holding back to springing surprises on her students at any time, but using said surprises as a way to prepare them for unforeseen circumstances in combat. 

Rumours has it that she is one of two to have ever caught Commander Jones’ heart. Even if she only did seduce him for her own amusement, she still had him wrapped around her little finger.

Unimaginative and silly the name may be, but Draco is still someone to be taken seriously. He’s the resident Dragon responsible for the training of the Dragon Shifters, a teacher alongside Ikari and whatever other Mythics chose to take up the mantle as teachers. He is capable of taking human form, and looks somewhat nondescript when doing so. He’s large, though, easily reaching two metres in height and with enough muscle to make anyone think twice about confronting him. His hair in this form is a dark brown—almost black—colour, with a pair of patient brown eyes taking in what’s around him. In his draconic form, however, he’s massive, easily reaching twice, or thrice, the size of any villa home, talons the size of an arm and a wingspan that anyone with knowing their cliché’s would say blotted out the sun. His scales are brown, like his hair, though his eyes become amber rather than their nutty brown colour in human form. Even Commander Jones would be dwarfed standing beside him despite being known as the largest Dragon Shifter in the world. 

He’s a gentle giant, so to speak, using a gentle and patient tone to anyone he’s talking to. Limitless patience seems to ooze from him, and anyone looking at him can say that the passing of time means little to him. He is a firm instructor, though not without mercy. He knows that improvement does not come quickly, and makes sure to give his students the time they need—but no more than that, though. He is, generally, a far cry from the tyrannic behemoths fiction had made dragons out to be in the past.

Sylphide is the teacher responsible for the majority of the Fae. She’s primarily an air spirit herself, though she’s as much fairy as any and perfectly capable of utilizing the powerful Sun, Moon, and Starlight spells that the powerful Fae uses. Unlike most fairies, she has the ability to grow to full human size, standing at the not-so-impressive height of 160 centimetres, slim and graceful with an otherworldly air around her, and only 20 centimetres tall when she assumes the body of a Fairy. Golden hair falls to her waist, interrupted only by a set of—what most would call—insectile wings poking out from her back (Here’s a few examples). Her eyes are a clear blue, and there’s always a kind smile on her lips. She is, by far, the kindest person in the entire Academy, and someone you can go to even if you are not a Fae. 

Just as she is kind, she’s also patient, giving even Draco a run for his money when it comes to waiting without complaint or the likes. That doesn’t mean that she’s lax in her training and teaching, as she is just as effective as the others, though she uses rewards and praise far more often than the others. And though the rewards are only ever tangible in the most rarest of circumstances, an afternoon without any obligations is seen as reward enough for some of those she has taken as her students.

More characters will likely be introduced based on what kind of players we get, or what I come up with.

Year 2240 - The enchantment falls away, revealing the three other Discs, and removes the illusion of Earth being round and floating in Space, and is now floating in The Weave instead.

Year 2241 - A treaty is secured between Mythics and Humans, ensuring peace with them across the entire world. At the same time, contact with the other Discs starts to happen.

Year 2251 - The treaty is expanded upon, allowing Mythics and Humans to live together. The truth that humans actually has dormant magic in them gets out.

Year 2562 - The suggestion of a joint government between the Discs is shut down.

Year 2563 - Endola marches onto Malnica, quickly subduing them and forcing them to join them in trying to force the creation of a joint government by taking over the other three Discs.

Year 2563 - Earth ask for the Mythics to help them, but they decline. Work on the Shifter Program and The Academy begins.

Year 2564 - The Shifter Program and The Academy is completed. Earth is finally able to send out warriors to help Clericath hold back the onslaught from Endola and Malnica.

Year 2573 - Present day. Roleplay begins.

(What magical abilities do you have/will get (for those not Shifters yet)? Be careful with this one. I don’t like to reject characters just because they are blatantly OP, so keep the power level to someone realistic, and preferable only a few choice magical spells or something. 2-3 would be ideal. Remember that you also do have some magical abilities in your Human Form, but they are far from as powerful as when you are Shifted.)

Background: 
(Self explanatory. Where did your character grow up? In which environment? Who were their parents, their friends? What was their reaction to finding out that they were compatible with a certain type of Mythic and so on? I want to stress the immense importance of the Background. I don’t care how creative you are with your appearance, abilities and personality. If you Background is a 5-minute-throw-together then I will ask you to redo it. You should be able to point to your background and based on that, explain why your character does X and why he/she doesn’t do Y.)

Personality:
(How does your character act? Are they kind? Mean? Perhaps generous or very brave? This is the basis of how your characters acts towards others, and you should follow it to the dot at any given time. Character development will happen, and your character might change, but still remember the foundation of who your character is. A really brave guy won’t suddenly become a really shy one without reason.)

Other:
(Anything else you can think of that doesn’t immediately fit in with the other categories. A theme song? A hobby that you didn’t quite mention? This section isn’t mandatory, but if you have anything that you can think of that you want to throw in, this is the one.)

Due to some instances where the nature of illusions became unclear, I have here a small document detailing how to combat certain illusions. While it doesn't cover everything, it covers enough to give a good idea as to how to break through illusory attacks.

Unlike most other attacks of magical origin, Illusions aren’t so simple to avoid or block that one would be able to throw up a barrier of some kind, or dodge the assault. Illusions is a type of magic which targets the minds of people, or affects the area around them. 

One thing that is important to remember when fighting opponents with illusory powers is that they are not all the same. It’s not always a matter of simply convincing oneself that it’s not real, or ignoring it to make it disappear. While such tactics can work in certain circumstances, the method with which one can defeat an illusion (and this is to be understood as breaking the illusion and seeing through it, not necessarily defeating the illusionist themselves) varies. 

There are two types of illusions which are the most common: Scenic and Interactive. 

The former of the two is the one where insisting that it’s not real and simply ignoring it is a valid method of defeating it. The Illusionist (the caster) is the one who controls everything; creating a scene which appears to span 360 degrees around the target. For lack of better wording it is like being in a ball where the Caster controls what is seen on the inside of the ball, but disregarding them should (in many cases) diminish—if not altogether nullify—the effects that the illusions have on the victim. Like anything else, however, the chances of success are always dependent on the strength of the victim and the caster; an exhausted victim would—understandably—have a harder time resisting. 

The latter, Interactive, is much more devious and is primarily found among the Kitsune. According to the legends they have the ability to bend, fold, and change reality in any way they desire in the form of illusions; so-called reality bending. A common philosophy among the Kitsune is that it is real so long as someone believes it to be; a thing many have taken to heart.

While yes, the Interactive Illusions are devious, they are also much simpler to defeat, as the efforts of doing so aren’t only figuring out what is real and what is not. While succumbing to the illusions of a Scenic Caster can be fatal, doing so with an Interactive may not always be so. As mentioned this type of illusions are also known as reality bending, which hints at the fact that physical efforts may (and often will) have a direct impact on the illusions. A large illusory weight on a target could be defeated through strength alone, so long as the strength exerted is equal—or superior—to the imitated weight, of which there will be a limit based on the Caster’s own power and focus. 

Simply insisting that something isn’t real will often also help when confronted with Interactive Illusions, but often to a lesser degree than Scenic. This, of course, depends on what kind of illusion, as some are easier to see through than others (depending on what is created by the Caster. F.x - It will require less to break a feeling of uncontrolled falling if you were previously standing on the ground, than it would if the target were already airborne by the time the “falling” began.)

On a final note, I want to make it VERY clear that I expect those who join to be able to post at least once a week. We want to keep this RP going, and people falling off the radar will hold the others back.
