• RPers who don't communicate effectively. Meaning the people who don't express expectations, where they want the rp to go, etc.
• People who just want a smut rp, but don't let you know. Seriously, making Howls Moving Castle mad awk with trying to incorporate random sex scenes, dude.
• RPers who say "I'm up for anything!" You are not up for anything, don't lie to me (I mean this playfully). Seriously, everyone has a list of what they want or do not want. It doesn't have to be long, but EVERYONE has a list.
• Having to try and figure out how to tell someone an rp isn't working out, particularly if it's because they're not a good writer (and I don't expect people to be Hemingway, but you all know what I mean- one liners, poor grammar, VERY short sentences if it gets that far). Mostly, because they give you nothing to reply to.
• Those partners that haven't worked out in the past but they continue to contact you to try and rp by making multiple accounts on things.
• People who ACTIVELY ignore you. On another forum I have been waiting for someone to message back, and they have logged in RECENTLY, but they are not answering my messages. Rude. As. Hell.
• Just happened: had someone accuse me of having "fangirl fantasies" because I really wanted to pair my OC against Brynjolf in a Skyrim rp. She knew nothing about my OC, nothing about what I wanted. Then she proceeded to accuse me of immaturity and of not being logical because I was taken aback by the fact that she analyzed my plot suggestion in depth in terms of Skyrim politics, and the fact that I was pretty staunch about wanting my pairing (for reasons she didn't bother to ask about). She then went on to tell me this was her "nice" way of saying she wasn't interested. She also accused my plot and pairing of being cliche, but didn't explain why she felt that way.
  TLDR; a girl didn't upfront tell me she wasn't interested, got upset with me when I wouldn't bend to her interests that she did not clearly convey, insulted me, and then blocked me.
• Going off that, people who nitpick instead of saying, "I'm not interested." That's not helpful, and comes off as bitchy, imo. I'm all for constructive criticism, but there's nothing constructive about just telling me what's wrong and then insulting me.
• People who personally attack you because you say something they don't like. Seriously, there's no reason to go after someone personally over something they said on an rp forum.
• On a different site: When you tell the mods you've been having issues with members and all they say is "Sorry to hear that!" Like, dude, you have members personally insulting others and you're just going to say, "sorry lol"? Alright. Bye.

There's honestly a part of me that kind of wants to quit rping. People are insanely rude now, and I'm just not having any luck getting my cravings filled. It's so discouraging and this isn't what I had hoped for in trying to come back :/

I might actually have a laundry list. But I'll try to be concise. (However I'm a terrible mix of Afrikaans, German and Irish, so I may or may not get carried away. Hang on.) Idk if I should go chronologically or alphabetically.

• People not reading my information/interests/expectations. I get messages all the time from people who I know haven't read ANY of the information I have listed, ask for something I've said I don't want, and then continue to hassle me for an rp. If I say no, that means NO.
• Rpers who cannot move a story along, and who do not contribute to the story.
• People who vanish. Every single rp of mine is currently inactive for over two weeks because my partners are not communicating. I don't mind if they can't reply, but the fact that I've had almost a dozen people just fall off the face of the earth without a word is beyond rude, in my opinion. I don't need or expect a novel explaining the situation, but a quick message of "I have to go on hiatus" would be FINE.
• On that note, when I'm asked to start, work my ass off on an intro, and they disappear. Also, when the person has contacted me for the rp, and they disappear.
• I had contacted someone for an rp once, and she apparently had a bunch of rules BEYOND the ones she had listed. So when I asked her if she would like to start or if she would like me to do so. Please note, she didn't ask me to start in her response, her answer was, "Well I have a rule that if you contact me, you have to start." Fine, whatever, I was desperate for rps. We were doubling, and of course, I put equal effort in for both my characters, mine and hers. BUT that wasn't good enough, apparently, and she messages me with, "Hey um I kinda have this rule/pet peeve that you should write more for the character that isn't yours." I was so done. So done. It's not the fact (well not just the fact) that she had these slightly odd rules, imo, but more that she didn't tell me after I had essentially broken them.
• I had someone become frosty and frankly bitchy the minute I voiced an idea they didn't like. It doesn't bother me they hated my idea, but the fact that they turned into an asshole because of that one thing, and didn't have the decency to even be polite about it, set me over the edge.
• This is more just something that's bugging me, but not getting any bites on any of the ads I have listed. I have ads on about a half dozen sites, and I've literally gotten three responses. I know there are people that are interested in what I am, but for whatever reason I am having horrible luck. It's a bit discouraging, honestly :/
• On reddit, I had people almost downvote my post to oblivion because I wanted OCxCanon pairings. I get that not everyone likes those, but that's not a reason to push my thread to the goddamn underworld.
• Being accused of mary sue-ism and self-instertion just because I use OCs. I can see why people would have that concern, but these people hadn't even asked to see information on my OCs, they were just throwing around accusations. I see people always asking for purely romance pairings and similar topics that are much more prone to both tendencies. An OC in a fandom universe is not that bad compared to some of the odd pairing requests I've seen. (This was also on reddit, and I stg the number of rps that people were living through vicariously was insane, so to have someone accuse me of that without any other knowledge and given the existence of these other threads just drove me up the wall).

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself really quickly, I'm Kae, a 21 year old biomedical sciences major. I've been rping since I was about 10 on neopets (lol let's not talk about that too much, can you say shitty OCs?), and I'm predominately a fandom rper! I do like some originals, but I always fall in love with fandom worlds and it just makes me so happy to write in those universes.

Funnily enough, I don't have a lot of experience on rp forums! I used to find my rps through mass emails, on neopets and the occasional tumblr. The one experience I had on a forum for rping... didn't go to well, let's put it that way. However, I'm always up for new things!

I have a bunch of cravings, and not too much luck lately finding rps, so hopefully I can change my luck around on here (: Y'all seem really nice already, and I hope to get to know you guys!

Fandom rps please (Star Wars, AoT/SnK, Watchmen, and others)

Hi everyone, I'm going to try and keep this as to the point as possible.


Rules

• Be mature and communicate with me. This is my absolute biggest one. If you don't like something, can't reply, whatever, just tell me. If I haven't heard from you in a week or two, I may check in just to see if you're still interested or if something has come up.
• If I vanish for a few days, or for some reason you haven't gotten a reply, it's absolutely fine to give me a nudge. Just be polite about it. I'm a biomedical sciences major so life can get crazy, and sometimes emails don't go through.
• Be able to write both genders. I don't rp with people who only play one or the other. I understand not everyone is comfortable with that, but if that's the case then I don't think we're going to work as partners. I will not just play male for you.
• Apparently this needs clarification but please do not contact me just to fulfill your pairing. If you are not filling my pairing, I will not fill yours. This is my ad, and I'm searching for RPs that I want. If it's not even in terms of both of us getting what we want, I won't do it.
• Be over 18, and be honest about your age please. I love mature themes in rps, so don't put me in a sticky situation, man.
• I write about 250-1000 words depending on the rp, number of characters, and my partner. Be able to get in that ballpark. However, I won't check your word count, so a better guideline is write like a college student. Groovy? Groovy.
• Contribute, and for the love of the flying spaghetti monster please do not make me carry this rp myself. I've had this happen a lot lately and it's exhausting when I'm the only one moving the action forward.
• I am not currently looking for anything instead of these. Everyone's got different preferences, hell that's what makes the world go round. But unless we're both getting something we want out of this, it wouldn't be fair. If you would like your own pairing, we will double.
• Not so much a rule as a head's up: All my personal pairings are mxf and CanonxOC. I am open to trying mxm and fxf, and if you want a CanonxCanon or CanonxOC pairing for you, that's totally fine with me as well. I'm not great at making up OCs on the spot, so I won't make up an OC on the spot for an OCxOC pairing for you. I like to plan and flesh out my OCs.

What I'm looking for in an rp
I'm pretty much just here to have a good time. I'm not a super stickler for... anything, I'm very laid back about most things. As long as we're following my general rules and you're a nice person, I'm fine with most anything.
However, I would love it if we could include character development and complexity in interaction, as well as a nice, engaging plot. I don't need it with foolproof logic, but if you can make me eager for your next reply that would be ideal.
Also, please understand that while my conversational rhetoric is very informal, I actually write in character rather differently. So I sound less like a hippie and more like whichever character/universe I'm in.
I am looking for plots that are dark, realistic, with parts that are sad and happy and all those wonderful things. It doesn't need to be overly complicated, but I want it to be well rounded. There are going to be high points and low points, with dark backstories and all that.
