Alexander made his way over to his respective area. His next opponent was going to be the Lightsworn user, apparently. That 'Judgment Dragon' was no joke, and Alexander hoped that he could beat it before it caused too much harm. Alexander's Duel Disk activated, and he went into his Dueling position.
Akira walked calmly over to his position with his Duel Disk at the ready. He had missed his opponent's Duel and had no idea what kind of deck he was up against. All he knew was that his opponent looked tough.
"Good luck, I have a feeling this is going to be a great game," he said kindly as he did with many of his opponents.
Alexander nodded, and both Duelists shouted the customary, "Duel!"
Turn 1: Alexander
Alexander - 4000 LP, 5 cards
Akira - 4000 LP, 5 cards
"I'll go first," Alexander said. "I Summon 'Defender, the Magical Knight' in Defense mode!" the armored warrior appeared, crouching and holding its large shield in front of it.
Defender, the Magical Knight - Level 4, DEF 2000
"When this card is Normal Summoned, I can add one Spell Counter to it," Alexander declared, and the red orb on its shield turned black. "Now I place one card face down and end my turn."
Turn 2: Akira

"Alright, to start off, I Summon 'Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner'!" Akira said as he placed the card on his Duel Disk, the tanned blonde woman appearing before them.
Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner - Level 3, ATK 1000
"Next I activate the Field Spell: 'Realm of Light'!" Akira said as a brilliant and bright landscape surrounded them with tan buildings that seemed to sparkle in the light. "Now, whenever cards are sent from my deck to the Graveyard, one 'Shine Counter' on this card. With that, I enter my End Phase, and through Lumina's effect, I send the top three cards of my deck to the Graveyard." he said as three cards were pushed out from the top of his deck. Akira looked them over and grinned. "Lucky me. When 'Wulf, Lightsworn Beast' is sent from the deck to the Graveyard, he gets Special Summoned to the field!"
Wulf, Lightsworn Beast - Level 4, ATK 2100
"And now that that is done, Realm of Light gets one 'Shine Counter'," he said as one of the pillars contaning empty holes filled with a bright light. Akira grinned, sending 'Shire, Lightsworn Sprite' and 'Minerva, Lightsworn Maiden' to his Graveyard and ending his turn.
Turn 3: Alexander

"My turn," Alexander said, drawing his next card. As expected, Akira was already milling his deck. It would only be a matter of time until that 'Judgment Dragon' came out. Alexander would have to beat him before that happened. "I activate a Spell card: 'Terraforming'!" Alexander declared, the Spell appearing on his field. "With this Spell card, I can add one Field Spell from my deck to my hand, and the card I choose is 'Magical Citadel of Endymion'!" The card ejected itself from Alexander's deck, which he then added to his hand. "Now I play that very Field Spell!" Alexander declared, placing the card in its respective place. Almost immediately, part of the area transformed, a giant citadel with mysterious runes forming rings around it appearing behind Alexander, and leafy green trees appeared, overlapping part of the 'Realm of Light' Field Spell.
"Now for a Spell card: 'Instant Fusion'!" Alexander said, playing the card. "By paying 1000 Life Points, I can Special Summon a Level 5 or lower Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck, but it can't attack and is destroyed during the End Phase."
Alexander - LP 4000 --> LP 3000
Alexander's Extra Deck compartment opened, and a card ejected itself, which Alexander grabbed. "I Summon 'Musician King' in Defense mode!" Alexander declared, the electric guitarist appearing on the field.
Musician King - Level 5, DEF 1500
After 'Instant Fusion' resolved, instead of disappearing like normal, it turned into a black orb and flew towards 'Magical Citadel of Endymion'. A giant "1" was then projected in front of the giant citadel. "When a Spell Card is activated, my 'Citadel' gains 1 'Spell Counter' when that Spell card resolves," Alexander explained. "Now I Summon the Tuner monster, 'Arcane Apprentice', in Defense mode!" The small blue-and-brown robed wizard then appeared on the field.
Arcane Apprentice - Level 2, DEF 400
"I Tune my Level 5 'Musician King' with my Level 2 'Arcane Apprentice'!" Alexander said, and the two monsters rose up into the air, 'Arcane Apprentice' transforming into two green rings, and 'Musician King' transforming into five white stars that aligned themselves through the two green rings. While that was happening, Alexander chanted, "Wielder of sealed arcane forces! Use our power and destroy all that oppose us! Synchro Summon! Appear, 'Arcanite Magician'!" The white-robed magician then appeared on the field, going into his battle position.
Arcanite Magician - Level 7, ATK 400
Two black orbs then appeared, revolving around the head of 'Arcanite Magician's' staff. "When 'Arcanite Magician' is Synchro Summoned, he gains 2 Spell Counters, and his ATK points rise by 1000 for each Spell Counter he has," Alexander explained.
Arcanite Magician - ATK 400 --> ATK 2400
"Also, when 'Arcane Apprentice' is used as Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon, I can add one 'Assault Mode Activate' from my deck to my hand," Alexander said, adding the ejected card from his deck to his hand. "Now I activate the effect of 'Arcanite Magician'! By removing one Spell Counter from anywhere on my field, I can destroy one card my opponent controls." Alexander explained. "'Arcanite Magician', destroy 'Realm of Light!" The black orb from 'Defender, the Magical Knight' shot towards and was absorbed into the head of 'Arcanite Magician's' staff, which caused the head to turn black and crackle with dark energy. 'Arcanite Magician' then pointed his staff at the tan buildings, and fired a bolt of black lightning, striking the building and causing everything to collapse and get destroyed. The field then gradually changed to the green trees that appeared from Alexander's Field Spell.
"With that out of the way, I then change 'Defender, the Magical Knight' to Attack mode and move to my Battle Phase!" Alexander said, the armored knight standing up and readying his blade for battle.
Defender, the Magical Knight - ATK 1600
"'Arcanite Magician', destroy 'Wolf, Lightsworn Beast' with White Discharge!" Alexander commanded, and 'Arcanite Magician' obeyed, firing a bolt of white lightning from his staff towards 'Wulf'.
Akira stood still somewhat in shock from the events. He watched as the bolt hit his monster and shattered the werewolf like glass.

"'Defender, the Magical Knight', destroy 'Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner!" Alexander commanded, and 'Defender' obeyed, rushing forward to deliver a downward strike on 'Lumina', destroying her.
"I place one card face down and end my turn," Alexander said.

Akira looked over his cards and grinned.
"Alright, I Summon 'Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn' in Attack mode!" he said as a dark skinned male appeared wielding a dagger. "Next I activate the Spell Card: 'Double Summon'! This allows me to now summon my second 'Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner'!"
Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn - ATK 1700
Meanwhile, the amount of 'Spell Counters' on 'Magical Citadel of Endymion' changed from "1" to "2".
"Now my 'Raiden' will give 'Lumina' a tune up!" Akira said as 'Raiden' and 'Lumina' leapt into the air, 'Raiden' becoming four green rings and surrounding 'Lumina', who then turned into three small balls of light. "Riding the white wings of judgement, an angel among saints!" Akira chanted. "Synchro Summon! Come forth, 'Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn'!" he said as a heavily armored man came riding down from seemingly nowhere on a Judgment Dragon replica. The man's armor was gold and winged, and looked as though it radiated its own light.

"Now I activate 'Michael's' effect. Once per turn I can pay 1000 Life Points and banish one card on the field. Say good bye to 'Arcanite Magician'!"

As a beam of light fired from the replica Judgment Dragon's mouth, Alexander grinned and said, "I'll be saying goodbye, alright, but not in the way you think," Alexander then shot his hand forward and yelled, "Trap card, reveal! 'Assault Mode Activate'! This card lets me tribute a Synchro monster on my field and Special Summon a stronger version of it from my deck!" 'Arcanite Magician' rose up into the air, dodging the beam of light, and his white robed suddenly shined brightly. "Forces of magic, be unsealed! None shall survive our combined assault! Rain down hell, 'Arcanite Magician/Assault Mode'! The light faded, and 'Arcanite Magician' descended back down to the ground, but now revealing the thick red armor it had been wearing underneath the robe.
Arcanite Magician/Assault Mode - Level 9, ATK 900
"Just like the original, 'Arcanite Magician/Assault Mode' gets 2 'Spell Counters', and 1000 ATK for each one!" Alexander explained, the two orbs appearing, revolving around the head of his green staff.

Akira grinned. He hadn't had this much fun in a long time.
"Well, guess there's not much more for me to do." he said. "I end my turn, which sends three cards from my deck to the Graveyard." he said, placing the cards in the Grave and looking up to his opponent. "Your turn."

"My turn indeed," Alexander agreed, drawing his next card. "First I'll use the effect of my 'Arcanite Magician'," Alexander said. "By removing 2 'Spell Counters' from him, I can destroy all cards my opponent controls! However, when an effect requires me to remove 'Spell Counters' I can remove then from my 'Magical Citadel of Endymion' instead." The "2" on the citadel decreased to "0", and 'Arcanite Magician's' staff turned black. "Dark Lightning Storm!" Alexander cried out, and 'Arcanite Magician' fired a thick beam of lightning above Akira's side of the field. Dark clouds gathered, then the clouds unleashed a barrage of lightning bolts, one of which struck and destroyed Akira's 'Michael, the Arch-Lightsworn'.
Akira grinned and sent his card to the Graveyard before looking, up still grinning.
"You just saved my hide with that. 'Michael's' effect activates when he's destroyed and I can now shuffle any number of Lightsworn monsters back into my deck and gain 300 Life Points for each, so by sending 4 back into my deck I gain 1200 Life Points," he said beaming with both pride and joy at the moment.

"That's still not enough Life Points to survive the Battle Phase! "Alexander yelled."'Arcanite Magician', attack Akira directly! Dark Discharge!" 'Arcanite Magician' pointed his staff at Akira, then fired a bolt of dark lightning directly at Akira.
Akira stood and took the full force of the attack, covering his face with his arms. He knew he was losing, but he was having so much fun he didn't seem to care.

"'Defender, the Magical Knight', strike him down!" Alexander commanded. 'Defender' then charged, delivering a downward strike on Akira, wiping out the last of his Life Points.

As the monsters and Field Spell faded, Alexander walked up to Akira and extended his hand. "Good game," he said.
Akira grinned and shook Alexander's hand.
"Yeah it was I had a blast playing against you and maybe we can play again sometime after I get a bit better." he said smiling before headding off to join the crowd and watch the rest of the duels.
