Time to go on semi-hiatus. I'll reply once in a while when I can find the motivation, but until then, I need a break.

Thank you Siaya Dragalorn for creating the banner/header!

Hey, welcome to my profile. I've been writing since I was a kid, and it's something I'm very passionate about. I'm not sure what else to put here, but don't hesitate to reach out if you think we'd hit it off. BTW, I'm an adult, so I would prefer to write with people closer to my age.

Seeking: Not...sure...
Limits: Romance-wise, nothing explicit. But I'm pretty lenient for everything else (within reason).
Reply status as of 1/13/24: Getting back to a decent pace.

No, we don't need to skip it. I think I've found the scene on YT.
The scene you're referring to...was this the scene of the confrontation with Kili and Thorin? Because Thorin goes on to talk about adding stone to the gate.
Is this correct? If so, I can add on to my post, or merely add that in my next one.
"Good." Kili grabbed hold of the corner of the heavy blanket that covered the bed, and from there, he covered Saeril up and pat the pillows behind her so that she could be comfortable.
"You've cared so much for Fili and I, Delva...it's time we help take care of you, too." At that, he smiled at her, then leaned over to kiss her forehead. For a dwarf, Kili showed more emotion than most, and he was rather astute when it came to the feelings of others. Kili was usually upbeat and optimistic to a fault; he wanted those around him to be happy, not sad. "I'll be back soon."
Shutting the door behind him, Kili left Saeril to rest, hoping to find his uncle in better spirits than before. The chances were slim, but he needed Thorin to hear him out. There was much to be said, and much to be decided.

Each hall seemed to mirror the next, and every stairway seemed to go on forever. It didn't take long for Kili to become impossibly lost; the rooms were large and impossibly bleak.
Kili wasn't worried, however. This gave him plenty of time to think and plan what he would need to say to his uncle.
Just as Kili began to plan his next course of action, he felt a shadow overcome him. Turning, he was met with the king. "Thorin -- I didn't see you there," he was mildly alarmed, and taken aback by the suddenness of his approach, yet he recovered swiftly.

"I take it you've rested." Thorin was impossible to read.

"I did, yes." Kili watched him closely, his godmother's warning echoing in his ears. "What have I missed?"

Thorin moved a step towards a window, one that overlooked the collection of stone they'd used to block the entrance. "See for yourself."
Unsure what to expect, Kili stepped alongside of his uncle, taking a look for himself as suggested. As soon as he Kili saw the stone and heard Thorin's explanation for it, he took on a look of absolute disbelief. Slowly, he turned to Thorin, angered by what he had learned. "You've locked us in...and everyone else out."

"I've done what was necessary. No one is to be trusted." Thorin's answer was clipped, his gaze cold. "One day, you will learn to understand, and you will see what I have sacrificed for you and our people."

Kili shook his head, unwilling to accept this answer. "This isn't right, none of it," he spoke with more bravery than he'd expected to, and he kept eye contact, even with Thorin's penetrating stare. "We can't shut everyone out! Your desire for the Arkenstone has made you this way."

Thorin rounded on his nephew, the words hitting a nerve. "What has that she-elf been putting into your head?" He snarled, gripping his nephew's forearm with violent force and pulled him closer. "She's poisoned you against me, hasn't she? She's filled your head with lies, and you're foolish enough to believe them."

Eyes wide, Kili pulled away from the deranged king, angered by the accusations. "She hasn't poisoned me against you! She's only tried to help!" This time, he raised his voice, the empty chamber filled with his words. "You've lost sight of what is important! You have no right to..." The sentence was never finished, for Kili was struck across the face with so much force that he fell.

"I have EVERY right!" Thorin bellowed, fists clenched at his sides. "I am your king, and you WILL show me respect!" From there, the king took a threatening step forward, though he made no move to strike him a second time.
"You have forgotten your place -- and if you speak out of place again -- you, and she, will be banished from my kingdom."
No way! 100th post?! How did I miss that??

Congratulations to us! May the next 100 be just as spectacular!

Hah! Thank you! I am so pleased you liked that!
I hadn't planned much for Miles, (adding him here was completely spur of the moment!) but I think he's got some potential to cause trouble for our characters...hmmm...I'll have to mull this over.
Also, Elaya's reaction cracked me up. Ghent so had that coming. I know he's a pain, but I figure he'll have room to grow and *hopefully* mature as the story goes.

We have a treadmill! I will have to try that as well! You know...you have a lot of good fitness ideas, ever think of being a personal trainer? xD
So far, I'm on chapter 4, which is shameful in comparison. Lately my mother and sisters have been in the room watching cooking shows and I'm unable to listen in peace. From what little I've heard, I am enjoying it a lot, even more than I thought I would.
Alice's dialog is pretty bizarre -- she's certainly...unique, isn't she? Makes me wonder if she hit her head on the way down the rabbit hole.

I've been spending the last few days cleaning out the garage. Once/if I find the bow I'll be sure to send photos your way. :D

That's very true! I'm thankful, but I get stressed out when I take on more orders than I can handle. I have a bad habit of doing that.
If you ever decide to open up an Etsy, or if you have any questions about it, let me know! I've been on there for 3 years now. Which is pretty crazy.

I believe you've mentioned your favorite Ghibli film, but it's completely slipped my mind. What was yours, again? My favorite is Spirited Away. After seeing Howls Moving Castle again, I would definitely place it as my close second.
Last week, I bleached all of my hair for the first time. I was hoping for blonde, but...like Howl, it turned orange. Unlike Howl, I didn't have a meltdown. *laughs*

The Calcifer is adorable! Mmm. Bacon...
reminds me of this

"Ouch! Hey!" Ghent expected payback. What he didn't expect was Elayra to punch with the strength of a trained black belt.
How could someone so small pack such a wallop? "I was only trying to throw him off our trail!"
This wasn't true, for Ghent hadn't tired of making himself a nuisance. Elayra's hot-tempered reactions fueled his antics and he got a thrill out of seeing how far he could go. For the sake of his own well being, Ghent decided to tread lightly again if she was going to retaliate with physical blows.
"So I can shoot bolts of lightning from my hands, but a portal can't meet up with us?" Grumbling, he rubbed his arm where he'd been socked, convinced that Elayra had used magic to hit him. No way she could punch that hard.
"I guess in Wonderland, you'd call cops 'guards.'" Continuing to rub his arm, Ghent observed a car turning down their street, the driver an elderly woman. "And punks, well, that'd be us. We kinda broke the law."
Breaking and entering wasn't the best of ideas, but Ghent thought they could get away with it. He'd justified it to himself; Frank wouldn't have minded them borrowing the back room, it was the Shadowmire attack that made things messy.
"Just for the record, no one would've known we were there if you hadn't brought those ghouls along." Ghent wasn't taking accountability for his role in this -- why should he admit that his plan had been a bad one?
"Well, if the portal's not gonna meet us, we'll just have to risk it." With a sigh, he unzipped his backpack and held it out to Elayra. "Miles may be crazy, but he's got a point. If the cops see that you're armed, we're in for some trouble." With a nod, he gestured to her dagger. "We'll start by hiding that."
you weren't nagging me, I am touched that you cared :3

that sounds good, though I must admit I cannot quite recall the scene...(I've only seen the third movie once...) was that when Bard confronted Thorin about Laketown?
"You're certain that you're alright?" Kili was hardly convinced. Saeril wasn't herself. There was plenty he did not know about his godmother, or her past, but none of that had mattered until now. Something felt wrong; her outburst was not quite natural, and he feared he'd done something wrong to trigger this.

Carefully, Kili rose, and he offered her a hand up even though while seated, she was practically his height.
"Perhaps I can talk him out of searching," the youngest decided, determined to set things right once again. If he could get Thorin to see sense, they could focus on rebuilding their kingdom rather than focus on what was missing from it. "It's worth a try. Fili and I are his closest of kin."

Offering a smile of reassurance, Kili found himself feeling more determined than ever before. Saeril was trusting him with this task, and he was determined to do a good job, though her current condition was troubling to say the least. "Are you sure you wouldn't rather rest, Delva?"
Your mention of the book got me interested and I googled an Alice in Wonderland audio book on YouTube. (They have so many, I'm amazed!) As I work on orders I am listening to it.
This is the first time I've ever listened to an audio book while working, and it will not be the last. This is absolutely perfect for me!

So, thank you for the inspiration to do this! I'll let you know my thoughts on the story as well. ^~^

P.S - I LOVE your avatar! Two days ago my sister and I watched Howls Moving Castle and I had forgotten how good it was (I'd forgotten how good looking Howl was, too! ) I can't help but relate to the man...I mean, he got a moving castle to avoid responsibilities...*laughs*
Of course! I will be sure to let you know once it's complete. :D

You know, up until this role play I wasn't always interested in Alice in Wonderland. I liked it, but I wasn't a big fan or anything. Now I've the desire to collect some merchandise and read the books. This RP is so enjoyable to me that it's become it's own fandom, heheh. :P Let me know how you like the books! I'm surprised to hear that the Tweedles didn't show up until then, though. o.o I always envisioned them coming into the story early on (then again, my knowledge is limited...like Ghent, I'm basing this from the Disney movies. )

Hey, that's not a bad idea! I'll see if that would work for the shield. If worst comes to worst, I am contemplating selling it (I sell a lot of things, huh?...) and using the money for some decor around this place. xD

I'm really excited to dig up my bow from the garage and give it another try this summer. I feel like it'd help get me into better shape, and at the very least, it'd be fun for my youngest sis. She's really into outdoorsy activities. Good for you for getting yourself into shape! :D It's not easy to become motivated...I'm the queen of lazy sometimes.

Heh, no problem! Trust me, I've been in the same boat. Take all the time you need! I've been so behind on orders that I haven't gotten to finish the Elayra and Ghent chibis yet. ; - ; I have so many ideas planned! All in good time, I guess. :)
"Now why would I be referring to you and Drust?" Ghent's smirk faded once Hatter was mentioned again. Elayra appeared reluctant to voice what she was going to say, which only made Ghent wonder if she had bad news to deliver. "He...what?"
Elayra's grip on her bow was enough for him to forget the topic of Hatter, at least for now. "Hold on! You can't go around shooting people!" Hastily, Ghent moved to lower the weapon before Miles could see what was happening. Thankfully, his interference was not required. She'd lowered the weapon on her own.
“But don’t ever call me that, especially where enemy ears might hear!”
Ghent's hands went up to the straps of his backpack as the drunkard approached, an attempt to look casual. "Too risky, huh? What am I supposed to call you, then? Do we have to go back to Blondie?"
Miles was a mystery. Some days Ghent guessed him to be in his forties, other days he wondered if he was pushing sixty. No matter what day, he always resembled an old, disheveled miner, minus the pickax.
The man eyeballed the teenagers with an air of suspicion, hands shoved deep into the pockets that was made from who-knew what kind of animal. "What're you doin out so late?"
Whoa. Miles really was in another world. Rather than point out the fact that it was early morning, Ghent shrugged, his backpack lifting slightly with the movement. "Just getting some fresh air."
"Hmph." Miles cupped his hand over a cigarette in order to light it. So much for fresh air. "Who's that?"
Ghent made it a point to keep an eye on Elayra. Hopefully Miles wouldn't say something to trigger a hostile reaction. "A girl from acting class." He'd planned his response; Elayra's attire along with her weaponry wasn't exactly normal for the city. "We're on our way to rehearsal. I'm the hero, and she's gonna be the damsel in distress." At that, Ghent smirked towards Elayra and winked just to be extra annoying. "Isn't that right, m'lady?"
Miles wasn't impressed. He eyed the weapons and drew up the collar of his moth eaten coat. "Better not let them see you totin those knives around."
Ghent raised an eyebrow. "Them?"
Miles exhaled smoke. "Cops were sniffin around earlier. Couple punks broke into the Book Barn." He looked behind his shoulder, visibly nervous. "Ain't that where you work?"
Acting wasn't necessary. Ghent was genuinely shocked. Frank was incredibly passive; he wouldn't have called the police unless he absolutely had to. Drust and the Shadowmire must have left the place in shambles. "Uh...yeah...well, I used to."
Miles appeared suspicious again, but the sounds of oncoming traffic encouraged him to get moving. "If I were you, I'd take off before they start pointin fingers."
With the smoke violating his lungs, Ghent cleared his throat, thankful that Miles was headed in the opposite direction. "Er...right, I'll do that. See you around, Miles."
This complicated things. Ghent didn't want to risk running into anyone else -- especially the police.
"Sorry about that." Miles was hardly his responsibility, but Ghent felt the need to apologize for the man. "Don't suppose that portal of yours can meet us halfway, can it?"
Kili never budged away from their embrace, he wanted to stay with his godmother until the last possible moment. Seeing her this way was a reminder of how Saeril had been at the very beginning of the journey. This was the second pane of glass she'd broken, and he wished so badly to know what would cause her to lash out like this.

As Saeril mentioned Thorin, Kili pulled back some, studying her with a expression of concern. "I do wish it," he admitted, increasingly doubtful that her accompanying him would be a good idea. Kili believed that he could face Thorin alone, he didn't want his uncle and godmother to disagree on their current situation.
"Maybe it would be best if I go alone...I may be able to reason with him. I don't want to see you at odds again, Delva."
