Time to go on semi-hiatus. I'll reply once in a while when I can find the motivation, but until then, I need a break.

Thank you Siaya Dragalorn for creating the banner/header!

Hey, welcome to my profile. I've been writing since I was a kid, and it's something I'm very passionate about. I'm not sure what else to put here, but don't hesitate to reach out if you think we'd hit it off. BTW, I'm an adult, so I would prefer to write with people closer to my age.

Seeking: Not...sure...
Limits: Romance-wise, nothing explicit. But I'm pretty lenient for everything else (within reason).
Reply status as of 1/13/24: Getting back to a decent pace.

Hah! Glad I'm not the only one. I think one of the most difficult parts for me is how to end a conversation. There's no way to do that without it being at least a little awkward.

Wow, thank you so much! That totally made my day! :D You're the one who inspired me to improve on my characters and helped me improve on my writing, so thank you! <3 I actually had a question about spacing paragraphs, if you don't mind. For the most part, I think I understand when I am supposed to space them, but I've been stumped a few times.

No rush! Hoping that you get lemons this week. No more chainsaws!
Oh! How about before? My apologies, I hadn't even considered that part of it. When I get to my computer, I'll edit that bit out. Would that work?

Name: Prompto Argentum

Age: 20

Short bio: Raised by an adoptive family, Prompto lived a lonely childhood devoid of any friends. As a child, he was self-conscious and deemed himself unworthy of his peers. Although he befriended Prince Noctis in high school, Prompto has never truly rid himself of his inferiority complex and greatly doubts himself. Along with that, he carries a deep secret regarding his past, one that continues to haunt him.
Despite his burdens, Prompto remains upbeat, optimistic, and is often the first to crack a joke in the aim to make his friends laugh. Prompto prefers to see the good in people rather than the bad, and he has a soft spot for animals, particularly chocobos.

Other: Shortly after high school, Prompto discovered his love of photography and is rarely seen without his trusty camera in hand. As a result, he has many days of their journey recorded and isn't shy to snap pictures of complete strangers.

Weapon: Being the marksman of the group, Prompto is skilled with using a gun and favors that as his weapon.

Family: unknown

Relationships: friends: Noctis, Ignis, and Gladiolus
And...done! Let me know if I need to change anything. Intros aren't my strong suit.
"Come on, Noct! You promised!"

"I know...but we're low on gas." Noctis looked into the review mirror, suppressing an aggravated groan as Prompto hung onto the headrest of his seat. Once the blond got something into his mind, it wasn't easy to sway him. Especially when it came to Chocobos.

For the past ten minutes, they had been debating back and fourth, attempting to decide whether or not to go to the Chocobo Ranch. In the beginning, idea sounded appealing, but after Ignis pointed out that their fuel was running out, the group started to change their minds about their destination. All aside from Prompto, of course. The youngest of the group had his heart set on seeing the large golden birds, and he wasn't willing to surrender.

"Aw, we can make it!" With a loud, dramatic sigh, Prompto leaned back, adjusting his camera lens for umpteenth time. "I was hoping for a group shot, Noct! Maybe a couple of selfies, too."

The day was still early. All Noctis wanted to do was to catch up on some much needed sleep. After a moment of consideration, he sighed in defeat. He couldn't say no to his best friend.

"Well...I guess if we take the back road, we should be able to make it." The prince glanced to Ignis and Gladiolus with a hint of hesitation; hopefully they would be on board with his decision.

Prompto couldn't keep the grin off of his face. With a small fist pump of success, he set his camera in his lap, ready for shooting. "You won't regret this, Noct!"

The drive was a long one, even longer than Ignis had anticipated.

"We're not going to make it." Noctis eyed the gauge, his heart sinking. They had five miles left to go, and he didn't fancy the idea of walking there on foot.

"We'll make it!" Prompto started to insist that there was enough fuel, right as the Regalia came to a slow, rolling stop. "...Or not."

Noctis sighed, leaning his head on the steering wheel as Gladiolus cursed their misfortune.
"Looks like we're walking." As much as Noctis wanted to, he couldn't completely blame Prompto. The decision to go hadn't been made by him, though he certainly had pestered them. "Come on."

With varying sighs and grunts of annoyance, all four exited the vehicle. Prompto offered them a light, guilt ridden smile. "At least it's a nice day, right?"

For the most part, the walk there was a quiet one, aside from Gladiolus blaming Prompto.

After what felt a lifetime, Noctis spotted a neon sign. "Looks like we've made it." It was his hope that the owners would have some extra fuel that they might buy off of them. The sun was hot and relentless, they were without shade and clad in black which was an unwelcome combination, given the heat.

Prompto quickened his pace, breathing in the fresh country air. "I can't wait! See any?" They were still on the road, but he could spot some wooden fence posts through some of the trees. "Think they've got any baby Chocobos?"

Noctis shrugged, removing his jacket with a small sigh. "Couldn't say."

The closer they got, the more they could see of the property. Prompto moved ahead of the group, eagerly looking for anyone in charge.
Noted! Admittedly, I'd forgotten that. I guess he was one of the few lucky ones who made his way to the portal and escaped in one piece. Guess he was pretty resourceful, back in the day. xD

No problem! I can't tell you how many texts I've mentally replied to without actually replying. Speaking of...I need to respond to my aunt's e-mail before she calls. *gulps* (I try to avoid phone conversations whenever possible).

I had a very difficult time deciding whether or not Ghent should go through the portal this post, or the next. If you'd prefer he didn't topple through yet, let me know because I can easily edit it! :D
Without hesitation, Miles removed his hands from his pockets to show he remained unarmed.
"I don't want any trouble," the drunkard looked behind his shoulder to ensure the aforementioned knight was not there. "Not from any cops, not from any knights...I already told you, I only want to reach the portal!"
While Miles argued his innocence, Ghent resumed his pacing. Their newest companion no longer concerned him, Mrs. Saxon did. If she had managed to identify him, the entire city would know before nightfall, including his parents. When Elayra stopped near him, he stopped too.
“R-right. Sure.” Ghent hoped he didn’t sound as uncertain as he felt.
After an awkward pause, he gripped the straps of his backpack and stepped in closer. “Like this? Or… no? Yes?”
Elayra was already moving, but Ghent couldn’t tell if he was too close, or not close enough. Cringing at his own awkwardness, he settled on keeping two steps between them.
Amazingly, their walk was undisturbed. Miles trailed alongside the teenagers, eyes forward. The man was unblinking, his posture stiff. If not for him mumbling about the knights needing to mind their own business, Ghent would have thought him to be in a trance.
Out on the road, Ghent kept his head down. The shopkeepers didn't pay them any attention, and the only person who passed them was in a hurry to reach their vehicle. For the first time that morning, Ghent was thankful for the rain. It offered a welcomed distraction.
"She's close." Miles' pace quickened as a car sped past the group. He barely breathed as they came to the alleyway, a wild look of desperation in his eyes. "Feel that?"
It took Ghent a few seconds to realize that by 'she', Miles was referring to the portal. As much as he would have liked to, he couldn't deny he felt something. It was a bizarre sensation, as if the air around them had a heartbeat. Curious to find the source of the pulse, Ghent peered over Elayra's shoulder to obtain a better look at crack in the wall.
"Oh, wow..." Ghent couldn't tell if the portal was supposed to look this way, or if something was wrong with it. He'd hoped that the sight of the magic would help jog his memory, but his memories of escaping Wonderland were no clearer than before.
Frowning, Ghent continued to look the portal over with a critical eye. After the portal widened, he could see the strange red lightning sparking within its core. This was more than enough evidence for him to deem it unsafe.
"I hope that's not our portal," Ghent scoffed his disapproval, secretly deciding that Miles would go through first. "Is there something wrong with it? Because it doesn't look safe."
Miles could have cared less whether or not Ghent accompanied them, but after Elayra brought up the White Knight, he didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. "Of course it's safe," he snarled, agitated by the skepticism coming from the teen. "We have to hurry!"
Unable to figure out the reasoning for their sudden haste, Ghent had no choice but to follow Elayra after his wrist was grabbed. He was beginning to see a pattern: if Elayra wasn't dragging him along on a run, she was pushing him. "What's wrong?!"
"It's dying!" Miles halted as the shadow revealed itself, and he cursed their misfortune with language so colorful it rivaled the graffiti covered walls.
Keeping true to the pattern, Ghent felt himself being pushed by Elayra again. Gasping, he staggered forward and turned his head to demand an explanation. Before he got the chance, the ominous shadow caught his attention, filling him with dread.
"What about you?!" Ghent couldn't tell if she intended to follow. Elayra hadn't said she wasn't coming, but she hadn't said that she was, either.
"You heard her! MOVE!" Miles urged them forward, fumbling for the holster at his side. "No blasted witch is going to ruin my chances," he started to rant to himself, taking aim at the darkness looming above them.
Using what speed he had left, Ghent heeded the order and made it to the portal. Despite the orders, he didn't go through. He was frozen in place, at a loss with what to do.
Miles circled around, finger on the trigger. "What is the matter with you?!" He was looking at the shadow when he said it, but the words were aimed at Ghent. "Get going!"
For what felt the hundredth time, Ghent was roughly shoved. As he tumbled backwards, he made a frantic grab for Miles' coat to stop the fall, grabbing onto nothing but air. "NO!"
Rather than hit the wall, Ghent fell into the portal, vanishing from the world he'd called home for fourteen years.
xD Noted! Noct, Iggy, and Gladio is who I meant by chocobros. I have a habit of calling them that. So, setting?
Thanks! Looks great, I'll work on an intro today. Quick question, are we doubling as the other chocobros? Just trying to figure out the setting.
Welcome back! Wonderful post, with an exciting twist at the end! I didn't see anything that needed to be changed. Well done, once again! :D

Thanks for the info! Helpful for my reply. If I remember correctly, I had Miles express his hatred for the Sorceress but didn't really cover how long he'd been in Wonderland as she rose to power. I'm thinking that he was there very briefly, but since he's cowardly (or smart, depending on how you look at it ) he fled via the nearest portal and has been stuck on earth ever since.
As a result, he hasn't seen a shadowmire, but he has a general idea of what's going on and what to expect. He's gotten his share of stories from fellow Jumpers over the years.
I love that about the knights, that makes them all the more intriguing to me. I don't think you've ever covered their background, so that's super interesting to learn! Miles hates any type of officer or guard, so Elayra's threat will keep him in line, I'm sure. Heh.

One quick question that came up as I'm working on my response: at this point in time, is the portal open enough for Ghent to get through? I figured it would be since Elayra directed him towards it, but I wanted to make certain. I don't think he's very willing to comply, but Miles may change that. *laughs*

As far as Voltron goes, I haven't gotten around to seeing it yet! I really need to. I've heard great things about it, aside from the fact that they split it into two parts. Boo.

Hope you're well, and as always, take care of yourself! (Also, I love your avatar!)
