You don't have to, I'd guess. But I'm afraid Flooby would be doing some sort of random events to simulate reality and do bandits or raids or Giant attacks. I just have a defense to protect the people from... anything. There was always at least a few on guard so they weren't 100% caught off guard.

I know, but my Capital and Home fiefs can't do it. Only my forts can. And I thought about letting my Fort soldiers get paid in food because they are on the border of enemy territory, so they can't really go to a pub or a restaurant and kick it back, so money wouldn't be of any real use to them. Food making them happier and some Bullis going to their families works out greatly I think

Taxes This does not include the Initial cost of everything, I'll be doing that all on separate sheets. This sheet, however, I will keep with me every year, updating it when needed. You can see after recruiting my huge armies, next year I will gain what's in my storage and Treasury (About Cell 28D). 85k of Bullis, gone. And that was just Upkeep. ALmost twice that for Initial costs. Crops is high, a bit under 100k, but that was because of feeding my soldiers, and I am still getting more. I guess it's whether you want more or less Towns. But more towns, you get less Crops, and pay more Crops. You can literally get a Crop farm and let it sit there. 18k people turn into 64800 Crops. A Town with 5k people (Which you also just took 5k of population from making crops) makes 20000 Bullis, and that 20k hasn't even subtracted for Upkeep or Soldier Expenses.

I will buy everyone with food and use that to become King. Bruhahahahaha

Upkeep. Upkeep eats all your money. Especially the initial purchase. I have found with 20k people, I get 45k+ food. So then I'm left over with 25k+ food, take Soldiers of 4k, times that by 4.... 16k-25k=9k. You times your Food by a higher number than your Bullis. From start, you can easily become rich with food. Just keep up with your taxes. Bullis is a pain to get started with. And later on, if you try to get more troops, remember your Upkeep has dwindled your yearly pay to almost nothing, so you can't just buy another army instantly, you have to wait and let it pile up. Where as food is also dwindled, it doesn't take as long, not at all.

I can help people out with their Taxes if they'd like. I and Flooby have jackhammered it enough to where I know what goes where and how much shit is. Also, manual taxes seem to get fucked up easily, so I've created an Excel sheet to do everything for me, like how a game would do.

However, I don't pay my Soldiers. Flooby has allowed me to pay my Soldiers in food and food for their families, and free homage. So, fuck yeah.

Every season you pay 1 Bullis to a Soldier for payment for being a soldier.
The "5/1" being talked about is equipment, which is something totally different.

Plate armor costs 20/3. To "Unlock" or "Purchase" ONE set of Plate Armor, you MUST pay 20 Bullis. After that, you only need to pay Upkeep cost to keep it functional and strong. You pay 3 Bullis per season for Upkeep. There are 4 seasons in a year, so you need to be able to pay 3x4 per year. In the end, a single Plate armor costs 12 Bullis per year for Upkeep.
