The priests were never driven out. If that is a statement thought by Cole, well Solterra is no different, as he thinks Cole will harm her. Cole didn't have any reason to take her hostage, and I'll repeat itagain and again, no reason. The priests churches are being completely rebuilt. The Faith was never thrown out. The order given was to take the churches money, NOT for self gain, but to feed the people of Lundland, that included trischland. There were greedy priests that didn't like it and they caused anarchy and fought back. The soldiers committed self defense and the result was a 'news report' of priests being slaughtered, which caused all churches to rebel. Solterra spoke to his people and by his words alone he stopped the fighting. He sent his own bullis to rebuild the churches. If you're going to make these arguments, don't make them OOC. i can have flooby come and explain what happened by his own words and it will be no different.

The only law was to ban alcohol so that his people would not be blinded by war to see why Solterra asks them to fight. It's why his people have faith in him and it's why his soldiers would die for him. Solterra could probably say one word and they'd have enough faith in him to attack the church, but he doesn't target anything but Cole.

His soldiers will bever abandon him now. The key to victory is not how much bullis you have, or the best strategy, or how many people follow you, it's the fact that they follow you. If they have enough faith in their leader, they will not retreat. If you give them the right cause, they will fight to the bitter end. They will never stop until it all is over.

You threaten to take Therral lands, you will feel the wrath of Therral's people. They do not tolerate threats to their families.

That assassin was by Solterra, but that was a mistake as he blindly didn't know of an heir. So he knows he created a martyr, but if you think that's all he's done, you're world ia about to be turned upside down

What's going down?

Solterra is bringing everything down on Cole. It can literally be seen as a frontline force against a massive Kingdom. Almost 20,000 soldiers, and a whole lot of strategy to back them.

In fact, it might be 30,000 with the support of the ally.

And Flooby will get a little castle if Solterra survives, so have fun with a bigger house and bigger paycheck
Solterra is not having an ego moment. Neither is he slaughtering priests, nor starting a war. Cole wants to take Therral land and hold Alexis hostage from inheriting the throne. The armies are ordered to kill the soldiers. They will try their hardest to leave the innocents alone, unlike Cole. But Solterra will end this war, whether it is with him going down in a fight, or taking Cole down.

Win or lose, Cole's forces will be brought down. Either Solterra gets land, riches, and fame and he saves his sister, or he won't be witness to the possible harm that could come to her, or the fall of Therral. His men are not fighting for a crown, or for riches. They are fighting for their homes and their families. So if Cole really wants to do this, he better be prepared for the consequences, win or lose.
Numbers are not Solterra's weapon, it is morale. Numbers are merely a bonus. What wins war is strategy. Either way, Solterra doesn't fight to win this war, he fights to save his Sister. If he can not reach her, he'd rather die than be treated as a criminal in Cole's eyes. He would rather die than witness his lands taken or watch his Sister be harmed. Neither I nor Solterra are being a fatist, he just doesn't care. He will fight until there's nothing left. It will leave a scar on Pelataria that will never heal.
Solterra fights with almost 10, 000 more men and an entire ally to boot. You make your choices, as they may be your last. One thing to learn about Solterra; he doesn't make threats, he makes actions.
Kaben, with the newly made assault plan last night, you may just want to ally. Especially if you'd like your mercs to be able to keep their little castle

Circumstances have changed. Dread is now essentially going to be there until the end of the Waiting season, simply because that's what Ealmund payed for. After that, they won't be needed. You'll learn more when your update comes.

They're home now. They are back and their going to commit little petty crimes around House Griffiths fiefs, but they aren't going to do anything major. House Griffith as a discount with them if he ever hires them, and even it's less bullis, they respect and honor him, which is why he will always have the discount. You should strike a chat with Dread, he is interested in talking, and he also finished his Messenger Post now, so messages going out are extremely fast.

Speaking of which, Flooby, almost 2 weeks ago you said that. Any updates for Dread's Fist lately?

Certainly won't be engaging anyone's forces. And the way to avoid war was for the whole nation, not just themselves.

Also, P.S., you can be self sustaining if you make the majority of your soldiers unlevied and have them work the crops. But to be completely self sustaining, you must have all soldiers work the fields. Then you can have excess crops, but no men to fight... at least you don't lose bullis.

No, less talky way of avoiding war.

Understood. As long as they do not engage Solterra's forces, and do not speak to them, Solterra won't pay them any more mind than they need.
Solterra would graciously offer Kaben's mercenaries refuge in one of his own Fiefs, or even take claim to one of Cole's.

The quote is eluding me, but Alexis stated she doesn't really even feel like she's 'up there' as a worthy Lady compared to Solterra, she just feels like she was grandfathered in because Solterra is her brother. She doesn't care for the Throne, which is why she was pretty eager to leave. She's spoken to Cole about this, she'd rather be a mercenary leader. Royalty just isn't her thing. Her alignment is similar to Chaotic Neutral.

Things would not be well under her rule.

P.S. - Remember Dread's Fist? Yeah, they are still a thing. Dread and Barry are going to play Poker. If Dread loses, he hires a prostitute for Barry for a night. If Barry loses, well... Ashgan is going to have a rude and... quite horrifying wake up in his Capital. (Nothing will happen, Barry is just going to do something obscene) And I think it will make a big enough impression to be in the Daily Lundlands.
