The first two weeks seemed to have flown by and Aver'i felt she had learnt so much already. Thankfully the rest of the time had not been quite so dramatic, with explosions being kept to a small scale of limited destruction which at worse set off fire alarms. On this morning she had woken early and enjoyed just laying in the comfort of her bed. That was until the announcement rang out. She was expecting it but she was still reluctant to leave, and dragged herself around the room as she got ready. It didn't take too long and she felt much more awake as she made her way to the room and after a little searching found the small crowd outside the door. She obviously wasn't the first to arrive, but she wasn't the last either so that was ok.

And then the door opened to reveal who she could only presume was their teacher. It wasn't his appearance exactly that made him so imposing - she was hardly in a position to judge someone for the colour of their skin - but his sheer size. Following the crowd inside she looked around and paused as she took in just what was in front of her. Honestly it didn't look like her idea of fun but she continued into the room regardless.
Aver'i said her goodbyes to Ben and then decided to make her way to her dorm, walking along the corridor and skirting around the door protected by guards. As soon as she got back she brushed out her hair and changed her clothes and finally relaxed after the events of the day. Putting on some music she collapsed onto the bed and closed her eyes, just enjoying the calm. For the very short while it lasted. Soon her room shook and another huge sound came roaring through the air. At first she thought it was a repeat of what had happened earlier but this one was different. She quickly jumped up and run to the window, seeing something smoking just out of view. Curiosity got the better of her so she opened up the window and with a tentative look down flew out a short way to see just what was happening.

Flying down she landed in the crowd gathering around what appeared to be a fallen spaceship. Being part alien herself she wasn't about to judge, but she hadn't expected a ship to fall from the sky. She floated up a little to see above the crowd, wondering if there was anyway she could help. There seemed to be problems with communication and she wondered whether she should offer her (mothers) ability of assimilating languages but she would wait a moment to see how it played out. Then she heard the voice in her mind, and realised this was clearly more than a language barrier.
(Crap, sorry, desperately trying to finish an essay while really wanting to procrastinate is obviously not a great mix :P)

"I'm staying in dorms. I've lived with my parents my whole life but I've got to move out some time, this seemed as good a time as any." She explained with a small shrug as she walked alongside him. "How about you?"
"Well then, " she said, "I suppose we'll just have to keep an eye out for each other then." She smiled and then headed towards the door. "So want to move somewhere that is less likely to fall down around us? It would be a shame to be spend our free afternoon stuck in hospital."
She gave a small laugh. "Call me boring, but I think I prefer it the lesson lasts without injury and destruction. And selfishly I am a little glad I didn't get a chance to go today, nothing I could have done would have beaten that." She joked, running a hand through her hair and noting the dust now in it. She shook it out a little but would have to have a shower as soon as she got back. "Is all this usual? I mean, I knew this wasn't going to be a normal school, but this I hadn't seen coming."
Aver'i hadn't been paying a whole lot of attention to what was happening around her, she'd never found herself too interested in the powers of others. Not that she didn't care, she would give a cursory glance to see but she wouldn't watch and analyse every small movement. So she hadn't expected the onslaught. Acting on instinct she quickly flew upwards as she was most agile in the air and she frankly wasn't sure on the structural security of the building right now - admittedly she was more resilient than most but she didn't particularly want to the roof fall down on her. When enough time had passed she returned to the floor and looked around at the damage; seeing John healing Mimic and the girl who had caused all the trouble running from the room. And then the announcement rang out.

Everything had happened so quickly and she realised she hadn't said or done anything. She mentally shook herself and let out a sigh, this wasn't what she had expected on her second day.

Ben shrugs as he stands up, "First of all, I understand his reasons for his behavior. Secondly, he basically just pushed a guy. It's not really a big deal." Ben throws away his trash, then returns to the table and asks, "you two coming?"Anthony rises and tells Aver'i, "You're going to love the next teacher. His methods are rather...unique." He nods to the other two students and leaves them behind as he walks to Mimic's class.

She decided to drop the topic on the matter of the entire school seeming to hate Anthony. "Sure, yeah, already been late once, probably shouldn't make a habit of it." She stood up and listened as Anthony told her about their next teacher, but he left before she had time to say she'd actually seen him in action yesterday, oh well. "I only caught the end of this class yesterday, I didn't get a chance to, well.. you know, whatever it is you call it." She explained as they walked to class.
I'n writing an essay about Stark at the moment, he's such a great character :) and sorry guys, I'm stuck in lectures for the next 4 hours so I'm going to be even more quiet than usual for a bit
She wondered just what he could have done to have granted such a strong reaction from so many people but decided against asking. "Why don't you then? If everyone else hates him, what's stopping you?" She asked Ben, ignoring Anthony's suggestions that they didn't actually hate him. She then turned her attention to him as she spoke. "I think you'll find that I won't be forced to be anything that I don't want to be." She challenged back, leaning forward also to face him.
Aver'i eventually settled on the chicken burger and followed Ben to a table. She busied herself with putting mayonnaise in the burger and cutting it in half and then when he asked his question she thought for a moment. "Honestly, I don't know. It's not exactly like I can blend in with the general public so I can hardly drop off the grid and get a normal job. On the other hand, flying around, saving the city, I don't know, it just sounds so.. cliche." Before she could say much more somebody else came and joined them at the table who seemed to know Ben. "Oh hi, I'm Aver'i. And you are?"
