Why not? Anthony's superpower is affecting the emotional state of others, and no one is immune. He's not like the others that have purely offensive superpowers.

(Dude, the gaze isn't what affects others. Anthony uses pheromones, which are airborne chemicals. As long as Anthony emits them, they still affect those in about a 40 foot radius of him. And it's not psychic, so others can't tell that they've been affected.)

Ben frowns and looks at John, "Don't you just love it when everyone just ditches you?" He stands, tray in hand and asks, "You coming?"

John shakes his head, "Probably. I won't learn anything new today, but I might stop by anyway." He continues eating, and says with his mouth full, "See ya later, klutzo."
