Bio

So, a bit about me then: First and foremost, I love to try and create imaginative and creative scenarios, that (I hope) push the very limits of reason and conventional thought. When I RP (mostly in NRPs) I aim to play powerful and big, things that are on the very edge of OP (I usually give my faction a ridiculous disadvantage though, to keep it fair). In other RPs, I tend towards Science Fiction and Modern Fantasy, playing side characters with some interesting quirks to them. I am also keen on trying some Arena RPing, when I get better at writing. Other things about me are that I work as a Mental Health Nurse (who would've guessed), and enjoy gaming and drawing as well. I also play trumpet on the side. I have a rough schedule, so I disappear for a couple of days sometimes. But never assume I am dropping out, I will tell you if I am thinking of it (unless it's really serious).

I believe so? I'm not sure, I think I can, but Art can overrule that. Seeing as he actually knows the story and mechanics, while I just help with stuff like that ad NPC interaction
@Character.

You're good to go, go for it ^^
I'll see if this gets any more interest, and let other players pick first. Then I'll just run extra members needed as NPC's
So, am I going to have solely the operator role, or should I make a ground team member as well?
While it would appear that the Dirophyd was still obliviously staring out the window, he had been paying careful attention to the others as they had entered, making sure to have his comm feeds open to allow for their conversations to be heard. Rothians, Masulu, humans... This was going to make for a very interesting operation indeed. Although Opus' orders from the mysterious individual were still standing, he felt it would be best to not straight up introduce himself, and 'keep his cards close to his chest', as a human once said long, long ago. For the time being, he simply feigned ignorance, and carefully analyzed their conversations.

After some time, a Tempu entered the room, and began to address the entirety of their rag tag assortment. The agent turned slowly to look at him, and listened to his words, learning that they were going to be forced even longer to wait for their briefing. Two whole days, to be precise. Sighing in annoyance a little too loudly, Opus stood up, and joined the group, hanging back so as not to draw attention. Once they arrived to where they would be staying, was when Opus finally spoke up, raspy voice and all. "I require a small tool set and doctor's kit, Tempu. Can I get these delivered to my quarters, sooner rather than later?"

The concierge, slightly annoyed, typed into his data pad, and looked up, trying his best to not let those remarks get to him. "Of course, your requested items should be here within the hour."

"Then I will take this room, if you do not mind." The Dirophyd casually strode into the middle suite, unlocking the door, and took a seat on the communal living room couch, approached by a servant drone. "Hello, may I assi-"

"No." Was all he remarked, before waving the drone away with a flick of his wrist. "Very well sir, enjoy your stay." It hovered off, and Opus was left in peace, for the moment.
Also, hi everyone :P
Name: [UKNOWN]
Alias: Chimera
Gender: Male
Species: Human/AI/Vandrell
Appearance:

Age: Biologically - Mid Thirties
Role: Operator
Equipment:
Assegai Ind. 10mm Autopistol, Anti personal Rounds: For personal defense, only in critical situations where his own life is threatened. Chimera never has actually fired it in a firing range, nor does he have any training with it whatsoever, claiming to have run over four thousand simulations and forty-seven actuals with the weapon, and that he has more than enough of a 'theoretical' understanding of how the weapon works.
Assisted Operations Enviro-Suit Platform: Necessary to prevent death due to system overload from three conflicting intelligences sharing the one frail body. It was his only posession, over than his pistol, that he had when he first approached the Raiders for employment. Besides keeping his vital systems stable, it acts as an extension to his processing components, massively reducing the time taken to act and respond to critical tactical data.

Bio:
Chimera is the result of several illegal cybernetic augmentation experiments to test both the malleability of organic minds to severe surgical trauma, and the elasticity of Vandrell synthetic uptake. The original experiments predating Chimera were undertaken by the SSA, though they are quick to elaborate that non-sentients were used for these experiments, and all usable data was discarded and destroyed when it proved to be cost ineffective. As such, much of Chimera's previous records are lost or fictionalized, and it has proven difficult to piece together an adequate biography of who he was before the incident.

All that is known is that, at some point, an unknown party had successfully managed to forcefully integrate a Vandrell intelligence into a human, with the help of significant neural reconstruction and cybernetic hardware wiring, to create a 'perfect' processing unit: Human resilience and adaptability, Vandrell curiosity and intuition, and an artificial intelligence program for raw data processing and categorization of critical files. In the process, both the Vandrell and Human personalities were discovered to be completely unrecoverable, due to intensive psychological and physical shock on the organic platform, leaving only the physical structure of both entities purely as hardware. Instead, the researchers were left with a husk, a husk with only a single objective: Performing data analysis as fast as physically possible within the current constraint of universal physics.

No information is pertaining as to how Chimera escaped his previous captors, but it is understood that he had been wandering the galaxy for some time after the event, unable to find purpose to his existence, or a worthy cause to give him motivation to continue living as he is, before coming into contact with Jason, on the verge of physical collapse and philosophical suicide. He has been a member of the Crimson Raiders for sometime now, acting primarily as both a trusted intelligence agent and effective electronic warfare platform. Very, very unapproachable outside of mission related situations.
JI Art, here I am. Bit busy tonight with other posts and hanging out tonight, but will get something up tomorrow
Even if someone has to be late to the meeting, it might be a good idea.
"Permission granted. As for your second request... At this time I can only provide minimal support. The Daughter of Gaia can spare a pair of marine platoons, two air wings, and the Nereid to get them to ground. I will not, however, halt preparations for landing. They will take time, time that I suggest you use fully."

There was more that Vilda wanted to discuss, and she wasn't fully satisfied with the Admiral's decision, but with a respectful nod, she saluted him. "Understood, sir. We will begin preparations immediately, and we'll have a team down there in 12 hours. This is the Ljus. signing off." The comms link was terminated, and the captain turned to the others in the bridge. Moments prior to the change in command. Vilda had ordered all division leaders to assemble on the deck, bar Jakobsen excluded. His priority had been to form a quick think tank of scientific minds to discuss and debate on what should be done concerning the natives, and had been largely influential on Vilda's final decision to prepare a landing team.

."As you can see, time is short, and we're going to have to do this now. Doctor Eriiks, you will coordinate the investigation from up here. I want you to pick your best researchers for the task, and we'll ensure you have all the equipment you need. We know nothing of the types of fauna and flora down there, so I'll send a small security detachment to provide light fire support. But under no circumstances, are they to open fire on any natives unless I deem it absolutely necessary. Is that clear?"

Eriiks chimed in with his familiar peppy voice, and spoke directly to the captain. "I know we can't risk putting me on the ground, but still... Are you SURE I can't go with them? I'll be on my best behavior, Captain..."

"This is serious, Doctor. Don't worry, you'll be dodging alien wildlife and maybe even spears before you know it." Vilda and Eriiks had always been close, and these were the only times you'd hear the captain actually be informal towards any of her crew. Despite his happy-go-lucky attitude, The Xenobiological genius was very intelligent, and demanded a lot of respect from all the crew, Vilda included.

"Very well, Captain. Let's get to work, eh?"
2044 Hours, May the 11th, 2296
The Ljus of the Fleet, orbiting Pavonis B

Because of the time constraints imposed on the research party, they had decided upon sending down nearly all the equipment in one go, aboard a single OtS (Orbit to Surface) civilian shuttle. While this effectively meant they could get to the ground and almost start immediately setting up the outpost, the whole operation would be carried out by a skeleton crew of sorts, picked out by Eriiks (who also tried to elect himself several times, unsuccessfully). Most importantly, the lead scientist for the field operation was Kaska Rudnicka, a young woman of Polish origins who was an expert at theoretical language composition and syntax formulation (her official qualification is Linguistical Analytics). Assisting her was Sven, a microbiologist, and Bertil, specializing in medical biology and antaomy.

Next, were what most of the crew referred to as 'The Twins': Walrad and Katrin Bering. While actually not even related, they were essentially the same person, right down to appearance and even sharing the last name. Both were from Dortmund, Germany, had both studied Engineering in university (Walrad had studied electrical, while Katrin was a mechanical systems engineer) and both were assigned to the Ljus, all while never even having met each other. They were inseparable, and got on really well. Finally, four security personnel were sent as back up forming a fire team of sorts, commanded by Security Vice Chief Gerrit-Jan Ossen, Gerit for short. All in all, it would make for a cramped trip to the surface.

The team boarded the craft, one by one, some chatting excitedly, while others simply walked on silent. Their gear (which included various scientific equipment, supplies, rations, sturdy tents and two assistant drones), had been loaded on prior, and some last minute flight checks were made, giving the green light for the mission. All that remained was confirmation from the Admiral.

"Admiral, this is the Ljus. All preparations have been made, and we are ready to begin our descent. We are just waiting to be given a landing zone to proceed. But before we do, we would like to ask if there is anyone you would like to elect from the Gaia to join us? We have one more seat available, and considering this is a momentous occasion in human history, it may be a good idea to have a representative from the flagship of the Fleet to join us."
