Bio

So, a bit about me then: First and foremost, I love to try and create imaginative and creative scenarios, that (I hope) push the very limits of reason and conventional thought. When I RP (mostly in NRPs) I aim to play powerful and big, things that are on the very edge of OP (I usually give my faction a ridiculous disadvantage though, to keep it fair). In other RPs, I tend towards Science Fiction and Modern Fantasy, playing side characters with some interesting quirks to them. I am also keen on trying some Arena RPing, when I get better at writing. Other things about me are that I work as a Mental Health Nurse (who would've guessed), and enjoy gaming and drawing as well. I also play trumpet on the side. I have a rough schedule, so I disappear for a couple of days sometimes. But never assume I am dropping out, I will tell you if I am thinking of it (unless it's really serious).

"You didn't have to do this. I shouldn't drag an old fisherman this far from home."

Cindy sat next to the old Asian man, as he manned the ship and sailed it through the ocean. He turned to her, and flashed a toothy smile, and tried to speak, as best as his broken English would allow. "You save my wife. I owe you. No problem." Cindy smiled warmly, and casually spoke back. "That one was on the house, for giving me a roof over my head these last couple of days. Man, I can't believe this war has been going on for twenty years. It just won't end..." Making a checklist of all her gear, Cindy prepared to land. That's when the captain spoke up again:

"Uh, lady? We may have trouble." Towards the island they had approached, were some ships moored, big ones. Cindy took out her binoculars and inspected them. She couldn't tell their make, as she wasn't a naval person, but the flags caught her eye. Swastikas. "Whaa... Nazis?" She checked again. Maybe this was a forgotten naval base from WWII? But no, there were armed men everywhere, it was still very much operational. With a sigh, she turned to the captain. "Look, you've helped me so much, but I need another favor. Something seriously fucked up is going on, and I need to get to that island. Can you find somewhere hidden from view to land the ship?"

The captain nodded. "No problem". And with that, he changed his heading, and made his way to a small cove away from the naval base.
They arrived, with little incident, and Cindy prepared to disembark. War has made some people drop of the deep end, that's for sure, but Nazis? That didn't make any sense. Never-the-less, she jumped off the side, and started to wade towards shore. She turned back to the fisherman, and waved, shouting "Now, get out of here as fast as you can, and thank you so much. Let your family know I said goodbye too!" Shouting back farewell, the fisherman turned his ship around, and started to get out of the cove as fast as the boat would go. not wanting to run into any of the soldiers.

With the good byes concluded, Cindy finished wading and checked her gear, to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Alright, now let's get to the bottom of this mystery, she wondered aloud, and tied a bandanna over her face and put on some goggles. Once all prepared, she drew her FA88, and proceeded to march into the forest, ready for anything now. Or so she thought.
The swords glanced off each other, and Noki grew more and more furious. With a shrieking battle cry, she swung the blade high over her head, and brought it down with a clang. That was a bad move, as her training instructor easily side stepped her, and swept his leg into her ankle, knocking her off balance and into the ground. The wind was knocked out of Noki, and she tried to get up, and found the blade placed gingerly on the side of her neck. She hissed, and bowed her head in silent defeat.

"You let your emotions take control of you... I will not lie, your passion makes you a fearsome opponent, Noferktii." Her instructor helped the young alien to her feet, and continued. "But you can't rely on brute strength to bring down your enemy if they are vastly stronger than you. You must use their anger and force them to get mad. They will make mistakes. Just calmly and coolly defend, until they wear themselves out. As you did today. Then strike once, and victory will be yours."

Noki bowed, and acknowledged his words. "Thank you, master. I will try to do just that in future". She went to walk away, humbled by his words, when he spoke again.

"Hey, I have a gift for you..." Noki's training gown was tattered and ripped, and she was bruising around her eye, but she went up to him none the less. He reached into a bag, and revealed a massive pistol, intricately etched with various alien symbols and such. Placing the weapon in her hand, the wizened old man smiled. "Each student who continues my training after today, which is few and far between after that humiliation," He chuckled, and continued, "receives a weapon of my choosing, which embodies their trials and tribulations, that brought them to me. Yours is the Kiss of Death, a kiss you yourself know far too well, but you use that fury to further your own strength, which makes you a strong warrior. May it protect you in your travels, Noferktii."

Noferktii stood there, dumbstruck and jaw dropped, and then jumped into the air. Yes, finally, her own gun! She hugged her master. "Thank you so much!" She regained her composure, and stood awkwardly in front of him. "I mean, I am honored, master. I will treat it with the utmost care, Now, if I may be excused, I have to prepare tonight's mea-" Suddenly, her master spoke up, in a strange accent: "But he's got other things to worry about, like that fucking twerp with the cat-ears." Puzzled, she went over to him.
With a start, a loud gunshot woke Noki, who bolted upright. This caused pain to shoot up her side, and she gripped the wound, wincing. That's right, the doctors, the blaster wound, Rectja... After a quick inspection, she determined she was healed, but still shouldn't exert herself too much. Which couldn't happen, as her friends appeared to have made some new friends. Trying to get up, she was stopped by a nurse, who told her otherwise. Noki snapped at her, "What am I supposed to do? My friends are in trouble because of me. If they die. I will never live that shame down, could you?"

The nurse simply replied, "And if you die, all this will be for nothing. Trust in them, and they will survive. The best you can do, right now, is get better and pay them back for this later. Trust me, this is the only way." Noki sat there, and sighed, burying her face into her hands. As much as she hated it, this was true. Doing anything now will only get her killed. So she got up, and went with the nurse further up the back, where they could take cover and not be in the way. Noki grabbed her pistol, just to be sure, and they proceeded to let the others clean them up.
I could get a NOki post up, but I think she'll be useless in a fight just after surgery :L
Without hesitation, Kradis made his way to the GEAR Bay, eager to get back into his machine. After his previous deployment, it had been a good eight months since he'd been grounded, with nothing but simulations and the firing range to keep Kradis sharp. With almost a predator-like drive, he itched to fight real targets, and continue his crusade. He exited the corridor, and was greeted by the loud noises and frenzied movement of an entire ship of technicians just before a mission deployment. It was good to be hunting again.

"Officer Topha, sir?" A techie approached, a young squirrel wearing overalls and welding goggles, who walked alongside Kradis and appeared somewhat nervous, "There seems to be a problem: Your GEAR isn't compatible with the latest LAS-DES retrofits, so you're going to rely on the other GEARS for Javelin Fire Control. I didn't think it was too big of a problem, since you're an artillery specialization anyway..."

Kradis smiled at the corner of his mouth, and continued to look ahead, stopping in front of Gammorah and looking up. "No, you did excellent, thank you for the assistance. She's an old machine, isn't she?"

"I think the term is outdated, sir. Though that load capacity is insane, you just don't see that with bipedal combat GEARs these days. Where'd you get it?"

Kradis climbed into his GEAR, and took one last look at the techie, winking as he began to close the cockpit. "Sorry, my friend, that's classified."

"Oh really?" The techie turned and started to walk away, and waved over his shoulder, shouting jokingly. "Well, you can find someone else to put the cluster rockets back on, and you can FORGET about those stabilizer enhancements, which you ar-" The cockpit locked itself shut, drowning out his complaints and most of the noise of the hangar, and Kradis chuckled, before booting up Gammorah's L/OS. Since there were little in the way of updates available for this particular make of operating system, it didn't have flashy things as high tech security encryption or the like. In fact, you still need a password to get full access. The plus side was that it booted up quickly, and was highly adaptable.

'Password required for full system access'. Kradis read the holographic print, and spoke softly. "Cyrillic Cliff Steppes". They were words that held a lot of meaning, and he could never forget. The system booted up fully, and a text prompt, 'Welcome back, Officer Kradis Topha'. With that, full access was achieved, and Kradis ran his pre flight checks carefully. With the all clear from his readouts and the techie's thumbs up. he was ready for combat, and the safety clamps were released. Gammorah stood taller than most, much like Kradis himself, and it was bulkier too. Slow and precise, it could carry a lot of firepower.

"Officer Kradis Topha, piloting the Gammorah, ready for deployment!"
