“Something semi-formal. That dress I wore for that one celebration that looks mega cute on me. What was that celebration anyway?” Ashlyn asks for she normally didn’t wear dresses, but would for special occasions. She schooled her features when he finally looked at her (or at least hoped she had) as she’d been staring at him, unable to help herself. She decided that she’d start writing down her feelings for when he did inevitably get Joleen back, as well as some months rent to compensate for her leaving. She didn’t think she’d be able to stay after they got back together.
That’s fine take as long as you need
Natalie
Maybe around teens to twenties, is uncertain
Bio: She’s been homeless for as long as she can remember, doesn’t seem to recall what happened to her parents, and had escaped from the orphanage, so knows her letters and numbers at the very least but that’s all she knows. She rescued a tiger cub when she was young and now they’re both grown. She knows this kingdom probably better than the prince, but she long’s for actual clothes and not needing to steal to live.
“Alright then.” Ashlyn responded a wry smile on her lips. She should have predicted that sort of response from him. “I just got to let someone know that the farce is a farce.” Her dad especially. He just might fly all the way to England to kick Kane’s ass, if she didn’t tell him this whole thing wasn’t what it seemed. Her dad knew of her feelings for Kane too, which would further her dad’s wrath. Her mom would join him in the beating too no doubt, and she loved them for that. “If you’re feeling guilt should we continue?” She saw the slight guilt in his own eyes, able to read him so throughly.
Here we can put our characters for now.
Ashlyn nodded in agreement of the pub looking at him as he covered her hand in his. For a second she almost thought he wanted to kiss her. But the moment passed by pretty quickly, yet it had been there. “I think that might be a good idea.” But her words to her ears sounded a bit half hearted. It’s where Joleen and he had first dated after all. And she might be there too, which was another stick in her ointment. She squeezed his hand. “But don’t you think going there so soon after a break up might cause raised eyebrows? You might be known for your ability to bounce back, but so soon? And with your best friend since forever?” She asks bringing up a few points that might be raised in the pub, but she would still go even if that other bitch was there. Oh goodie, she was being hateful. A good sign, not.
The surprise on her face never faded only got more enhanced when he blurted his hair brained idea. “Us?” Ashlyn squeaked and she cleared her throat a time and took a moment to think that idea over. The hope that never really dimmed inside her that he would finally get it, rose inside again. “That might not be a horrible idea. I mean the more into it we get the more she might get jealous. Let’s go somewhere tonight, post it all over social media.” She suggested. “We might even want to kiss a time or two. And the same rule applies to you. You feel it is getting too weird you tell me, and we drop it like a hot coal.”
I’m going to go to the beach today so I might not be on a lot. I just wanted to let you know
“She’ll just want more than just being partners and sometimes we do mean exactly what we say, you know that.” Ashlyn stated a bit harshly. She’d said some really mean things and meant them half the time. But usually it was all said in jest, yet she had the feeling that Joleen (she knew Joanna’s name she just thought the other name more apt) had really meant it. “But if you really truly want my advice: sometimes we only miss what we once had and someone else has, if you get my drift.” She wasn’t saying it! Ugh! But she was just tired. Maybe she should move back to America like her parents wanted. She’d had multiple opportunities to.
“Why feel guilty about that? You weren’t ready for marriage and she kept hinting/pushing at you for that. You should only consider marriage if you honestly mean it. There are TOO many divorces this day and age.” Ashlyn stated being honest with him. Plus being his friend meant she could read his face better than most people. “Do you really want to get together again though?” She asks the hurt barely hidden, not that it seemed to matter.
