I changed both names

Good show.

I'm about to retire to bed, as it's late here. But you're accepted. I'll sort out all the office work tomorrow.

Be sure to get your say in the Senate meeting.

Angelos is Greek, and simply means messenger. Could've been a Latinized name.

Doing some digging, and Angelos is a "late" Greek word.

"The word angel in English is a blend of Old English engel (with a hard g) and Old French angele.[4] Both derive from Late Latin angelus "messenger of God," which in turn was borrowed from Late Greek ἄγγελος ángelos."

I am a wiki-warrior. This much is true.

Nigh but an ever-curious spectator.Which I must add that this is all quite interesting. I'm happy to see it up.

I appreciate it, thanks. It's a good system we have here, a little clumsy perhaps, but it's given me something to work with for future RPs.

The people are good too.

If you're interested, Rome is short of troops.
As for the Senate meeting, I'm going to go ahead and conclude it tomorrow evening. Otherwise we risk stagnation. Makesure you all have your say, because I'm pretty much going to re-read it all, then go with what I think is the reasonable outcome. The more convincing the arguments, the more chance of them being accepted.

Can confirm that angels, despite being found in the Sikh and Zoroastrian faiths (whereas the latter influenced Abrahamic faiths and the former contains a direct reference to an Abrahamic Archangel in its Guru Granth Sahib), are primarily an Abrahamic construct. As far as I know, the sole reference to 'angels' in Greco-Roman religious culture was in the 4th century Christian-era musings of Proclus on Plato's Timaeus, where he assigns the adjective 'aggelikos' and the term 'aggelos' to sous-divine metaphysical entities.

Who the Hell are you?

Someone close the window, you're letting the drizzle in.

changed, hows that? I know their were angels in the roman religion but I didn't know what they were generally called so I went with that

Angels existed in the late Roman Empire.

Lol, let me rephrase that.

The concept of angels existed in the late Roman Empire, as someone has already mentioned, because Christianity was the main religion of the time.

We're about four-five hundred years before that, so as it stands, that word is alien.

Choose yourself another name; something Latin. If you need help, this'll fast track you.

You may keep your banner, though your legion seems to be named after pottery? Unless somone (Boerd, or Ded) wants to correct me. Not that it matters.

Fix your Legate's name, and I'll roll with it.

I'm truthfully rather insulted, and I wont even other responding to this incricble/massive leap of opinion. Having had to live through the Ender Wiggin reign of terror, I'm rather tired of it all TBH. We all know this wont make it nearly far enough anywhere to reach a state of a conflict. So you can have your people riding daises for all I care.

And I'm sorry for making you feel that way.

If me leaving will restore your faith in this RP's chances of success, then just say the word and I'm gone. It's only fair.

On a side note though, what do you mean by the whole Ender Wiggin thing?

Ha, I recalculated the population density for an area the size of India, taking into account the mostly rocky environment, with ash storms, and got an even higher count XD. Still I think I'll leave the population level as it is atm, hoping to finish much more of the sheet today. Your not even between those two realms Interesting how so much attention is on my nation, I have a feeling they might end up as the Fire Nation. XDAdjutor Insula btw has around 350,000 people yet can some how support 20,000 in their military? o.o

It's an efficient society where everyone is given their place in it, and the 20,000 warriors are a home-based force bred for defence and security purposes. The soldiers are not paid, they are only supplied with weaponry and food. Not a tall order, in my books. The "army" I use on foreign soil is much different in nature, shaped to assist disasters and international emergencies, as per the nature of my nation's foreign policy. It's size varies depending on the mission involved, and the material required to fund it.

Bottom line though, I'm not trying to win a game. I'm just trying to help write a story.

If you're trying to win a game, Khan, then drop the idea quickly. An NRP is an RP all the same, a narrative driven media. I can suggest Medieval Total War 2 to you, if you want that kind of fun. That goes to anyone else who wants to fixate on troop numbers.

EDIT: Sorry for that little outburst at the end there, those were hasty words. Just, you know, how many NRPs you guys been in where someone "wins"? Because I've not been in a single one. Either some kid with 3 million soldiers upsets another kid with 2 million soldiers, and the whole thing crashes, or people leave the moment they've been told their army lost a battle. I'd rather we just be rational, creative, selfless and level headed when it comes to that part of the RP.
Adjutor Insula

The Helper and the Warrior

“The Scorched King will not accept a treaty from us, I fear,” muttered Lord Defender Marcus Aticus sullenly. He slumped in his chair, partly because the meeting had reached its seventh hour, and partly because he was certain that Guide Charity IX was an ignorant fool. “They have love of Blood Sin, matched by few in these parts.”

Guide Charity was an elderly man, ravaged by nine decades of life on the frozen island. His eyes had dulled with senile blindness, and an attendant had to keep swabbing at the spittle dribbling from the left side of his mouth with a cloth.

“Beloved brother,” Charity croaked, more than said, “are you asking me to… shut off Adjutor Insula from the world?”

Marcus flinched. He knew the old man, though physically diminished, still held a mind sharper than any sword. The Guide was openly accusing him of heresy, though in the nicest and vaguest way possible.

“No My Guide,” Marcus replied, sitting himself up. “I just do not see why we should send any of our peoples to a waiting executioner. The Scorched King respects strength, not diplomacy.”

“And,” Charity mumbled weakly. His head shaking with the strain as his aged neck fought the weight. “When was helping a neighbour a sign of weakness?”

The Lord Defender suddenly felt a pulse of anger, and quickly knocked it from his mind with a divine slap of reason. Calm, brother. he thought to himself. “My Guide, you are a good man, the greatest of the Order – there is no doubt. But I feel that you are perhaps trying to feed sharks with sleeping babes by your insistence on this matter.”

“I do not care,” the Guide replied weakly. “We have dallied on this enough. Lord Defender, you have my love, and my thanks, for your council. However, my mind is set on strengthening relations with the one you call ‘The Scorched King’.” He paused briefly, to dig into his white robes, and produced a rolled scroll. “Have this taken to KarKarth. Choose a man who is eager to join The Great Faran in the Heavens, and have him deliver it to the King directly.”

Marcus bit his lip, but relented when he realised he could not sway the Guide’s mind. “As you wish, My Guide.” He paused, and considered his actions briefly. “I am… sorry for doubting your judgement.”

The Guide waved his hand, and smiled warmly – well, as much as his worn face muscles would allow, anyway. “There is nothing to be sorry for, Lord Defender. I have always valued our friendship, and your wisdom.”

The only thing I want to say about Lancer's app is that I don't think anything as well intended or so conceivably perfectly structured as his faction operates as intended, and it's likely at this point there would be a lot of hypocrisy in the administration. I also await the moments that things become so morally gray they become dysfunctional.

The simple idea behind my nation is a "perfect Christendom", more or less, where "love thy neighbour" rules the day.

But you're right, such a philosophy stands at odds with man's nature. Furthermore, as my guys are more or less religious nut jobs (although nice ones, at that), they can easily get led astray in a "just cause". An example would be if they saw a country's government committing genocide against its population - the Guide may feel he is in a good position to intervene, and cannot stand by and watch the destruction. However his military intervention then leads to a massive conflict, spanning years, costing thousands upon thousands of lives, until in the end it's not entirely clear whether helping out was a "just cause".

And yeah, the Guide is likely banging 16 chicks behind closed doors whilst the rest of the priesthood are doing some hardcore abstinence.

The real point I wanted to put across, that whilst Adjutor Insula is not a perfect society, it is actively striving to become one. The people there are proud and devoted to their beliefs, on a general level, and things work well on a social scale. However, like I've said, there'll be abuses, and like you've said, there'll be causes for intervention and conflict that are so morally grey they'll sink the nation before it can decide on what to do.

Hey ho! I'll get a post up soon.
