Olyvar wears very little armour over his orange shirt besides lightly armored greaves, vambraces, a gorget, and small pauldrons as it reduces his speed.
[b]Weapons: Preferring a weapon with long reach and speed rather than a heavy or short weapon, Olyvar utilises a spear and buckler shield in combat, in addition he keeps a rarely used forward-curving short sword in a sheath which is tied to his belt.
Personality: Olyvar is a fast mover. He's curious, adventurous and reckless, but tends to get bored easily. He jumps into things without looking and has a towering self-confidence bordering on cocky. He's playful, articulate, and has a constantly barbed tongue for the unwary.
To most people Olyvar appears flamboyant and ostentatious, sometimes to the point of annoyance, though his arrogant attitude causes him to be unconcerned with the opinions of others.
In battle he's never one to toe the line, Olyvar fights with flair and panache, he enjoys putting on a show, even when there's no audience.
History: Olyvar Nymerios was born in the arid city of Damaji, a literal oasis in a desert known for its plentiful diamond mines and high-quality glass. Since Olyvar's father was some unknown lowborn desert nomad, while his mother was a noble, named Arellia, Olyvar grew up being the subject of jokes and jests by the other noble children. Olyvar never fought back with his fists. Instead he learned to insult them, like they had, by assessing their insecurities and devising trenchant insults, putting a stop to them humiliating him further. Some time later his father left them both unexpectedly, whether he left because he grew tired of living with them or because he was pressured by someone to leave due to his relationship with Arellia is unknown to both Olyvar and his mother.
After his father abandoned them, Olyvar was left at an awful point in his life. The teasing from the other children only got worse and he soon ran out of fresh insults to throw at them. He grew tired of Damaji, he'd heard about the rolling green hills and oceans that they had down south and practically made plans to go before even knowing that he wanted to. He took up sword fighting shortly after his father left, but disliked the style then took up spear fighting shortly after that much to his mothers distaste. She wanted him to be a noble trader not some sort of pirate ruffian going around and paying every wanton woman in sight to do their business. When he was of age to actually leave the city without a heightened risk of death he kissed goodbye to the city that he had grown up in and made his way south.
His mother had given him a small portion of money that he had invested in trading caravans to go back and forth between Damaji and a small city close to it named Thymane, this was where he met Hadryn. Hadryn soon became a good friend to Olyvar and they travelled together for a while before parting ways when Hadryn decided to become an assassin for a short period of time.
Olyvar has recently caught wind of a tournament in Keilaudrin, he decided it would bring a good bit of reputation to him if he won the tournament.
