James turned to Myth, wondering what could be the cause of this situation - if Myth was a student in his class, he shouldn't have to ask that question. However, if he wasn't a student of his then James couldn't think of many reasons he would have to approach him.

"Yes I am." he answered. "Can I help you?"
I have a question: Do we have a set plot with antagonists, or are we going with the canon ones? And where are we in terms of the canon plot? Before, after, during or ignoring?
James only smiled as Neku confronted him with his identity of a witch, even though the student said he would be keeping it a secret. The Staff of the Academy already knew, including Stein - that guy scared him.

"I'll see you tomorrow too." he grinned in a farewell as Neku left before turning back to Kiri and sighing. "...I know what you're thinking. 'What are you doing here'. Well, Let me just start off by saying that the staff and I cut a deal, so I'm safe here... technically."
Just wondering, because James had soul protect on

Neku had seen all of these things happen, but he completely ignored them, feeling that now would be the perfect time to use Soul Perception on their teacher. After shutting himself out from the outside noise, he focused on James' soul, and what he found didn't surprise him, really. "" He thinks as he snaps back into reality and takes a stand from his seat. He walks up to James' desk to confront him. "Mr. Heinson, right?" Neku begins, but doesn't wait for answer. Instead, he speaks his next words in a hushed tone, so that only James could hear him. "[i]I know what you are...but don't worry...I've decided to keep my mouth shut. No one likes too much noise..[/i}" He says.

Shadow, what level of soul perception does Neku have? The Normal level or the advanced Maka level?
James gave a small smile, having expected that someone would ask this. After all, there were plenty he considered when he was faced with the prospect of teaching people who were only around the same age as he was.

"Well, I'm afraid I can't tell you much," James said truthfully, "And like I said at the beginning of class, If there is an issue with me being your teacher than you can take it up with Shinigami-sama himself. However, I will confidently say that I am much more experienced in the subject I am teaching you than any of you in my class.

Does that address your concerns?"
Normally, James would turn to answer Kiri immediately, but he had a feeling he would know what Kiri was about to say and needed to stop him - there were still people here, namely Jasper, and didn't want to potentially talk about the dangers of witches being teachers at the DWMA. As such, as much as he hated to do this, he had to put his friend on hold for a moment.

"Hang on a moment, I'll be right with you. We can't talk here yet." James said to Kiri, whispering that last part before turning to Jasper. "Yes, what is it?" he asked.
James was silent for a moment before smiling again. "Good." he muttered. "Very good."

If anyone was using soul perception on him, they either didn't want to question the fact he was a witch or refused to, or their soul perception would be too weak to glean past his soul protect, cast in the form of Arcana: The Magician. Either way, no one has attempted to kill him so far. "Now then," he continued, "I suppose I'll start by taking attendance..."

The rest of the first class was rather typical, with James outlining the curriculum and other such formalities for the rest of the year. Finishing up ten minutes early, James looked at his watch. "Well, it seems there's still ten minutes to go before the bell. Oh well." he shrugged. "That's it for this period; you're all free to go. If you have any questions, stay behind so I can answer them."

The bell didn't decide when the class ended - he did.

I'd say skip the class and say that he taught them respect.

Alright then, skipping the class it is
...now I have another question

What should James be teaching them on? Or should I just skip the class entirely? O.o
