Name: Edward Fraiser

Age: 17

Class: Trainer

Hometown/Region: Johto

Appearance: Edward often wears black polo shirts as to them being real cheap at thrift stores. His pants usually look like they've lost color and sport a couple of tears on them. Expensive wear, or designer clothing isn't really his thing. A newspaper boy's hat is always worn on his head.

Due to his obsession with standing in front of the television at a young age watching Poke sitcoms, he's forced to wear prescription glasses. Things begin to look fuzzy without them. His favorite shoes are Converse, preferably black ones. The white space of the shoes have been drawn on with a sharpie; detailing a decennt drawing of a few pikachus.

Personality: Edward is not shy in the least. He occasionally starts the conversation mainly to the reason being that the awkward silence bothers him. It's hard for Ed to make friends since he feels it's necessary to impress them. Lying is not something he's proud of so he likes to exaggerate the truth. Doing this, he feels his chances of making a friend is high.

Ed is a bright individual. However, he lacks any common sense. He'll believe any little story you tell to him. His darkest secret is that he still has confidence that Santa Claus is real.

Equipment: Two pokeballs, three potions, and a flashlight.

Pokemon Team: The only pokemon that Ed has possession of is an Abra, a Growlie, and a Scizor.

History: At the age of 14, Edward received Abra, his first pokemon. He named it Crow and it has been with Ed ever since. It would've been expected that Abra would've evolved by now, but Edward kinda took his time getting into the whole pokemon conquest. It just didn't feel like his time to rise yet.

Time passed on for about a year until Edward decided that he should get started. Nothing truly exciting happened except doing a few errands around town. His friendship with Crow did increase thus the start of Edward's journey was an easy one.

After some vigorous training, Crow became one of Ed's most powerful pokemon. Ed and Crow undergo rigorous training each day. The kind of training that is slowly making his entire team much more powerful by the month. Crow has yet to evolve, but Ed is waiting for the day he finally does. The abra, almost never concealed in his poke ball, hangs on his trainer's back. The psychic pokemon spends his time sleeping to store power for future battles.

His Scizor was the first pokemon that Edward caught at the age of 15. He proudly called it "Leaves". Viridian Forest was the place of battle. The bug-type was confident he would've scored a victory on Ed, but was surprised by the skilled abra.

After his defeat, Edward pitched a pokeball and claimed his first capture. Leaves could arguably be the hardest pokemon that Edward would ever have to train. It seemed like the pokemon wasn't proud of losing. However, through some quick victories with other trainers, the respect was starting to appear. Leaves considered Ed his way of becoming stronger and becoming unbeatable. After learning of Ed's goal to become the best, he became obedient. Leaves is the quickest of the party.

Ed retrieved a Growlie just recently at the early age of 17. He's not sure if this pup has what it takes to become a heavy hitter in his party, but he's hoping with some focused training, this puppy will have what it takes. The Growlie was sooner given the nickname "Okami".

Goal: Edward always dreamed of being the best. Unfortunately, his dreams are too far-fetched. He thrives to become something more and superior than a Poke'mon Master! Everyone is fighting and biting for that title. Well, it seems that no one is claming "Poke'mon God"?

It can't be said that's an odd goal. Edward has no intention of becoming a dictator or ruling a country. He simply wants to have a title to his name. Ed dreams of his name reaching the heavens, an icon that's whispered all over the world. His desires are nothing more than to jump over any obstacle and defeat any challenge so that he can feel he deserves a title.

What is Pokémon?

***Lesson 1***

In this section, I will give you a general idea of what Pokémon is all about. The first major step is pronouncing the word "é" correctly. It is pronounced]"Poe-cae-mon" That shouldn't be that difficult. Now pokemon is widely seen as a cutesy and innocent topic. But this roleplay allows mature elements.

***Lesson 2***

This world that we live in is very different from reality. In this world, there are many creatures which are similar to animals in the reality world. These creatures are called Pokémon. A basic explanation would be that these animals are replaced by these pokémon, animals who have super powers. These pokémon are almost everywhere in sight. Pokémon come in many different shapes and sizes, and all of them have different names. For example, Psyduck is a pokémon. Logically, the Pokemon grow stronger, and when they do grow, its called evolving. For example, when Psyduck grows, it will evolve into a stronger pokémon called Golduck. There are over 500 different pokémon, each very unique in its way.

***Lesson 3***

There's a class in the Pokémon World called "Pokémon Trainers". Pokemon trainers start out with just one Pokémon. In this roleplay, players will decide between one to three pokémon to start with.

These trainers will later get more Pokémon in the wild. To get more Pokémon, these trainers must capture them with a thing called a "Pokéb Ball". A Poké Ball is just a round shaped ball. When a Poké Ball is thrown at a wild Pokémon, the creature will shrink into a small size and will magically enter the ball. Once entered, the little rascal might be unwilling to be captured. So the pokémon will attempt to fight out its way out of the ball. To prevent this from happening, the trainer uses his/her own creatures to battle/fight the wild Pokémon. Once the other Pokémon is weak, the trainer then uses a Poké Ball to capture it. Since the Pokemon is too weak to free itself from the Poké Ball, capturing odds is increased. Once a Pokémon is captured, the trainer has the choice on whether to keep it (a maximum of 6 Pokemon is carried at a time, in this roleplay, the number of pokémon carried is determined on how many roleplayer there are) or to transfer it to a safe place for storage. When Pokémon are in storage, it will be available to the trainer if he/she needs it. Opening your storage is usually available when visiting a pokémon center(a hospital for pokémon), possibly a police department, or any other points of interest. Once a Pokémon is captured, the trainer can use it and give it a nick name. The Pokémon can not escape from the Poké Ball after it has been captured.

***Lesson 4***

Pokémon don't die in battle, Pokemon can either get injured or faint, but death never occurs. In this roleplay, poke'mon are capable of dying. If they were to faint, it's necessary that they be placed in their poké balls. On the other hand, if they were to be attacked by another creature while being unconscious(faint), the pokémon would die.   Only a handy revive can save them from death. When a pokémon is injured or has fainted, they need to be hospitalized at a pokémon center.  The Pokémon Center cures pokémon from diseases, illnesses, injuries, faint status, and more. Pokémon Centers are found at almost every city in the Pokémon world.

In these Pokémon Centers, trainers will find a nurse named Joy, referred to as Nurse Joy. Every Pokémon Center has a Nurse Joy, all of them related to each other and look very identical (you wouldn't be able to see the difference). Nurse Joy is responsible for caring for the Pokemon in the Pokémon Center. Often, Nurse Joy will have a Pokémon assistant, called Chansey. In this roleplay, only one Joy exists. As only one officer Jane exists.

***Lesson 5***

Everyone is now going on a so-called "Pokémon Journey". Our objective is to whether become a pokémon master or finish a goal that we had dreamed of. In this roleplay, our dreams will be delayed thanks to Team Revolution.

To become a pokémon master would mean having to train your pokémon and use them to fight in a gyms. In Gyms, there is a leader of the gym. If a trainer defeats the leader, the trainer will get a badge for proof of his/her achievement. Along the way, trainers meet other trainers, and might want to start a friendly battle. Once a trainer gets a minimum of eight badges, the trainer can then enter a tournament called the Pokémon League. Trainers from all over the place gather to see who's the best.[/color]

***Lesson 6***

There's another class called the pokémon breeder. Pokémon Breeder is primarily a Pokémon Trainer who raises and mates carefully selected Pokémon to reproduce specific improvements in future generations of Pokémon, such as moves and individual values. Their goal is occasionally to study pokémon, or raising Pokémon for health and friendship, rather than for Pokémon battles.

You Have Now Learned The Basics!

After 6 important introductory lessons of Pokémon, you have finally learned the basics. Of course, there is still much to learn. But you will have a much easier time comprehending and learning after mastering the basics. Now you have a more wider view on Pokémon. Either way, I congratulate all for spending some time to learn about something.
Pokémon: The Toppe Region

For a long time, the Toppe Region, located to the far north of, but on the same continent as Kanto and Johto, has seen peace. Several years ago the organization known as Team Rocket attempted to gain a foothold here, but they were stopped by the gym leaders. Unlike the other regions, the gym leaders of the particular region were more professional and managed to wipe out the entire organization. The felt a great deal of insult when having uninvited goons create amok in their region.

However, there have been rumors floating about. There's been gossip that in the past ten years a new team, calling themselves Team Revolution, has revealed themselves. People are saying they are the remnants of the defeated Team Rocket. The members supposedly hold strange, powerful pokémon that are not natural to this, or any other world. The story has gone so far that there's whispers of pokémon experimentation. The new organization has supposedly messed with pokémon DNA, or PDNA, to create their own new species; making an entirely new race or splicing two pokémon together.

What's more, the rumors are stating that they have manipulated a powerful pokémon. If this is true, the team has become a real danger to not only Toppe, but the whole world. While they are threatening stories, the Toppe region is not fazed. The gym leaders doubt this revival of an organization will prove to be a threat and expect them to come back after the battle with Team Rocket.

Although, several citizens are worried that this new organization will finish the job that Rocket couldn't and destroy the Toppe region along with the world.  All anyone can do is hope that there will be trainers strong enough to stop them when the time comes.

The Basics

This is not your average pokémon roleplay. I've taken a few elements that you won't normally see in a pokémon anime or video game. If you're a fan, I'm not sure if this will make your experience an enjoyable one or a horrible one. The elements I've added to this roleplay is unnatural pokémon, fire-type grass pokemon, you know? Things that just wouldn't be found in nature. There's something that I've included which is "splicing" or "fusing" pokémon, but that'll be available later on. If this carries on long enough, I'll reward you with that option.

This could turn into a mature roleplay, or there is already mature elements involved. You're probably wondering how could something so innocent like pokémon turn into a mature rating. I'm simply saying that I'm allowing anything mature to go in this roleplay. Now because I have said that, I feel I should state this: Just because you can kill other pokemon and pokemon trainers does not justify murdering something in your first few posts.

Now, this region has been created by me, the town and gyms and so on are my idea as well.  As far as the region goes, it is connected to Kanto and Johto, so the pokémon that are there can more of less be found here, but some pokémon from Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos can be found here as well. There are also some altered pokémon who escaped from Revolution that may be caught.
Name: Nicolas "Phones" Rodriguez

Age: 18

Magic: Nicolas gets his nickname from his area of magic and because he is always sporting crimson headphones. His specialty revolves around vibrations and sound. When you see water rippling inside your cup, Phones is probably near. He utilizes his magic to create small tremors and sound waves.

Scream Landslide: An ability that needs to be aimed carefully. He needs to be on ground level in order for this move to take effect. Nicolas pushes the ground in front of him via sound to create a direct path of destruction. It is easily avoidable unfortunately as someone could just step to the side.

Vibe Reaction: Phones utilizes his special ability on himself to gurantee a stronger attack. When punching or kicking, he applies vibrations to his feet and hands to ensure a drilling effect. His vibe reaction hits are able to level concrete walls.

Clap Trap: Nicolas claps his hands together to create a sound wave. This sound wave pushes objects and people out of his path. It is mostly a successful attack.

Magic Level: B

History: Phones was abandoned on the steps of an orphange of when he was a baby. He loathes talking about his past because of how much of a cliche it is. All the other kids at the orphange who shared his abandoment wanted to find their parents someday. Phones is more than complied with not knowing who left him. If they chose not to raise him and give him a normal life then forget them.

While living at the orphanage, Phones was beginning to learn about his powers. Things around him were starting to shake and quake. The kids and the caretaker always thought it was just tremors in the ground, but the more Phones grew up, he realized he was the source. It was hard for him to control it as he didn't have anyway to practice; however, he started with tiny objects like a cup of water and dice.

Once he got older, he decided to leave the orphanage early in the morning. He considered that he can practice his abilties in a more open area and be around people that actually were more like him. A Guild.

He had to leave the orphanage for another reason too, but that is a story that will forever haunt Nicolas.
Personality: Nicolas is humorous person. He rarely gets serious unless the situation calls for it. If obstacles are in his path, he will do anything to overcome them. Additionally, he hardly forgives people that abandon him as it relates back to his parents. There is another darker reason why Nicolas left the orphanage, but that will be told in good time.

Three Strengths: (Not just combat)

1. Nicolas has trouble sitting still. He cannot very well stay in one spot for very long. This does help him in combat as it give him great evasive moves.

2. Nothing really phases him. He can keep a cool head through most arguments and react calmly to hostile behavior. Someone would have to be completely persistent on
making Nicolas angry, or destroy something close to him.

3. Nicolas knows how to raise morale. He doesn't like frowning.

Three Weaknesses: (Make them Applicable)

1. He can't stay in one place for long. He is constantly moving if he's not comfortable which means he is not a “stealth” guy.

2. Nicolas has abandoment issues.

3. He will not step into another orphanage....ever.

Greatest Love: Adventure

Motivation: You try staying cramped in one place with a bunch of mischeiovus kids and one adult. Stuff gets annoying.

Appearance:
Being a villain...hmm. That's a different pace for me, but I could make it work. How do you want to approach this exactly?
Robeatics said
Hey, we're in the same boat. We could start off with our characters' beginning arcs entwined just to help carve ourselves out a good foothold without intruding on preset plots, if you want!

That sounds interesting and very resourceful. What type of faction were you looking toward? Hero or villain?
Excellent, I will be sure to fill out the character sheet tomorrow.
Is there room for one more in this shin dig?
