Current It's been a while since I roleplay'ed. With filing for unemployment, a lot of free time has opened up. I hope I can join despite the rep sheet I have for being inactive for some time.

The amount of pokémon you can carry is determined by the number of players. No legendary pokémon please. If you're having trouble with picking a pokémon, here's a site that gives you all the pokémon from generation one to generation five. If you're still having trouble, don't worry. Tell me what you like and I'll find you one that will most interest you.)

History: (are you a new or old trainer? why are you in Toppe Region? Note: We are all still rookies.)

Goal: (what do you want to be? gym leader, collect all pokemon, breeder?)

Other: (anything else you wanna add)

The Basics

This is not your average pokémon roleplay. I've taken a few elements that you won't normally see in a pokémon anime or video game. If you're a fan, I'm not sure if this will make your experience an enjoyable one or a horrible one. The elements I've added to this roleplay is unnatural pokémon, fire-type grass pokemon, you know? Things that just wouldn't be found in nature. There's something that I've included which is "splicing" or "fusing" pokémon, but that'll be available later on. If this carries on long enough, I'll reward you with that option.

This could turn into a mature roleplay, or there is already mature elements involved. You're probably wondering how could something so innocent like pokémon turn into a mature rating. I'm simply saying that I'm allowing anything mature to go in this roleplay. Now because I have said that, I feel I should state this: Just because you can kill other pokemon and pokemon trainers does not justify murdering something in your first few posts.

Now, this region has been created by me, the town and gyms and so on are my idea as well. As far as the region goes, it is connected to Kanto and Johto, so the pokémon that are there can more of less be found here, but some pokémon from Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos can be found here as well. There are also some altered pokémon who escaped from Revolution that may be caught.

What is Pokémon?

*Lesson 1*

In this section, I will give you a general idea of what Pokémon is all about. The first major step is pronouncing the word "é" correctly. It is pronounced]"Poe-cae-mon" That shouldn't be that difficult. Now pokemon is widely seen as a cutesy and innocent topic. But this roleplay allows mature elements.
*Lesson 2*

This world that we live in is very different from reality. In this world, there are many creatures which are similar to animals in the reality world. These creatures are called Pokémon. A basic explanation would be that these animals are replaced by these pokémon, animals who have super powers. These pokémon are almost everywhere in sight. Pokémon come in many different shapes and sizes, and all of them have different names. For example, Psyduck is a pokémon. Logically, the Pokemon grow stronger, and when they do grow, it’s called evolving. For example, when Psyduck grows, it will evolve into a stronger pokémon called Golduck. There are over 500 different pokémon, each very unique in its way.
*Lesson 3*

There's a class in the Pokémon World called "Pokémon Trainers". Pokemon trainers start out with just one Pokémon. In this roleplay, players will decide between one to three pokémon to start with.
These trainers will later get more Pokémon in the wild. To get more Pokémon, these trainers must capture them with a thing called a "Pokéb Ball". A Poké Ball is just a round shaped ball. When a Poké Ball is thrown at a wild Pokémon, the creature will shrink into a small size and will magically enter the ball. Once entered, the little rascal might be unwilling to be captured. So the pokémon will attempt to fight out its way out of the ball. To prevent this from happening, the trainer uses his/her own creatures to battle/fight the wild Pokémon. Once the other Pokémon is weak, the trainer then uses a Poké Ball to capture it. Since the Pokemon is too weak to free itself from the Poké Ball, capturing odds is increased. Once a Pokémon is captured, the trainer has the choice on whether to keep it (a maximum of 6 Pokemon is carried at a time, in this roleplay, the number of pokémon carried is determined on how many roleplayer there are) or to transfer it to a safe place for storage. When Pokémon are in storage, it will be available to the trainer if he/she needs it. Opening your storage is usually available when visiting a pokémon center(a hospital for pokémon), possibly a police department, or any other points of interest. Once a Pokémon is captured, the trainer can use it and give it a nick name. The Pokémon can not escape from the Poké Ball after it has been captured.
*Lesson 4*

Pokémon don't die in battle, Pokemon can either get injured or faint, but death never occurs. In this roleplay, poke'mon are capable of dying. If they were to faint, it's necessary that they be placed in their poké balls. On the other hand, if they were to be attacked by another creature while being unconscious (faint), the pokémon would die. Only a handy revive can save them from death. When a pokémon is injured or has fainted, they need to be hospitalized at a pokémon center. The Pokémon Center cures pokémon from diseases, illnesses, injuries, faint status, and more. Pokémon Centers are found at almost every city in the Pokémon world. In these Pokémon Centers, trainers will find a nurse named Joy, referred to as Nurse Joy. Every Pokémon Center has a Nurse Joy, all of them are related to each other and look very identical (you wouldn't be able to see the difference). Nurse Joy is responsible for caring for the Pokemon in the Pokémon Center. Often, Nurse Joy will have a Pokémon assistant, called Chansey. In this roleplay, only one Joy exists. As only one officer Jane exists.
*Lesson 5*

Everyone is now going on a so-called "Pokémon Journey". Our objective is to whether become a pokémon master or finish a goal that we had dreamed of. In this roleplay, our dreams will be delayed thanks to Team Revolution. To become a pokémon master would mean having to train your pokémon and use them to fight in a gyms. In Gyms, there is a leader of the gym. If a trainer defeats the leader, the trainer will get a badge for proof of his/her achievement. Along the way, trainers meet other trainers, and might want to start a friendly battle. Once a trainer gets a minimum of eight badges, the trainer can then enter a tournament called the Pokémon League. Trainers from all over the place gather to see who the best is.
*Lesson 6*

There's another class called the pokémon breeder. Pokémon Breeder is primarily a Pokémon Trainer who nurtures and mates carefully selected Pokémon to reproduce specific improvements in future generations of Pokémon, such as moves and individual values. Their goal is occasionally to study pokémon, or raising Pokémon for health and friendship, rather than for Pokémon battles.
You Have Now Learned The Basics!

After 6 important introductory lessons of Pokémon, you have finally learned the basics. Of course, there is still much to learn. But you will have a much easier time comprehending and learning after mastering the basics. Now you have a wider view on Pokémon. Either way, I congratulate all for spending some time to learn about something.
Pokémon: The Toppe Region

For a long time, the Toppe Region, located to the far north of, but on the same continent as Kanto and Johto, has seen peace. Several years ago, the organization known as Team Rocket attempted to gain a foothold here, but they were stopped by the gym leaders. Unlike the other regions, the gym leaders of the particular region were more professional and had unbelievable strength. The gym leaders easily managed to wipe out the entire organization. There was a great deal of insult when having uninvited goons create amok in their region. The organization was defeated without any progression in years.

However, there have been rumors floating through the region. There's been gossip that in the past ten years a new team, calling themselves Team Revolution, has revealed themselves. People are saying they are the remnants of the defeated Team Rocket. The members supposedly hold strange, powerful pokémon that are not natural to this or any other world. The story has gone so far that there are whispers of pokémon experimentation. The new organization has supposedly messed with pokémon DNA, or PDNA, to create their own new species; making an entirely new race or splicing two pokémon together.

What's more, the rumors are stating that they have manipulated a powerful pokémon. If this is true, the team has become a real danger to not only Toppe, but the whole world. While they are just stories, the Toppe region is not fazed. The gym leaders doubt this revival of an organization will prove to be a threat and expected them to come back after the battle with Team Rocket.

Although, several citizens are worried that this new organization will finish the job that Rocket couldn't and destroy the Toppe region along with the world. All anyone can do is hope that the elite gym leaders are strong enough to stop them when the time comes. But what say if the gym leaders fail? Who else can humanity and pokemanity depend on?

Rey sat up quickly with his forehead drenched in sweats. His breathing was heavy and his heart beat was racing. He eyed his surroundings and calmed down after a couple of seconds. "Another bad dream," Rey muttered under his irregular breathing. There was nothing hostile around him, but he decided to scan the area again. Nothing, thank God. This was another sleep uninterrupted by the creatures of the wasteland; a blessing that Rey never takes for granted.

Rey happened to be in the shade that was given to from an abandoned building; however, he could still tell it was immensely bright. The sun was probably at his highest so there was the assumption that it might be the afternoon. Climbing up to his feet, he stretched his legs and arms out. Afterwards, he dropped down to the floor to do a quick set of ten push-ups and sit-ups. A daily routine he does to ensure his body never loses its mojo.

"I really need to find a sleeping bag. A blanket or something," Rey complained. He adjusted his neck and popped it after his uncomfortable sleep. He strapped on his backpack and started walking forward. "Now to find out where the hell I'm at."
Name: Rey Velasquez

Age:23
Personality: Rey had always used to be a stern person. He would straighten his back and carry a grim look on his face. There was a serious atmosphere around him during casual conversation. He hardly ever cracked a smile. Rey believed it was the proper attitude for the current state the world presented itself. Unfortunately, he was involved in an incident that changed his perspective within himself.
He changed his personality ten-fold. Instead of a stern attitude he has a sarcastic demeanor. Rey hardly becomes serious unless the situation calls for it, but casually he does hold a smile. This doesn’t necessarily describe him as carefree, but more entertaining. Rey will feel trapped if a moment is calling for him to be serious and there is no reason for it; he refuses to listen sometimes if it will bring him down.

Faction:(Optional) N/A, but claims to be a part of Outer Banks Republic

Equipment: He carries most of his equipment within his handy backpack. Rey’s backpack contains the common necessities like bottles of water and some miscellaneous food items. Rope and a flashlight can be found inside for whenever the situation calls for it. A pair of handcuffs for multiple reasons, but no key is available.
His defense relies on three weapons he has managed to stumble upon during his adventures. For his common shootout, he hauls an efficient 10mm pistol with a good supply of around 35 rounds. His secondary weapon is called out when more fire power needed. The combat rifle is swapped out when the moment is becoming too hostile. If melee weapons are not needed, he’ll have to get up close and personal with his trusty metallic bat.

Skills: Rey is a conservative…when it comes to ammo. He does not rely on firepower to get the job done for his two weapon choices are not compatible to take down an army. He has become adept with sneaking from experience of diminishing the enemy’s defenses with a few silent takedowns. Through a lot of close encounters, he has developed a calm and collective attitude when dealing amongst stressful problems.
He has gained a somewhat understanding of collegiate wrestling takedowns and capoeira from some magazines he had read before. Rey did not receive a black belt, but he did learn two or three moves. Reading can be dangerous.

History: Rey has been by his lone some for a while. This is not to the cause of trust issues or everyone dying around him. He just has not found any friendly faces or faces he can tolerate. He is affiliated with the Outer Ranks Republic; however, this is a lie disguised as a front to convince people not to mess with him. Rey has not gone his way to find companions, if the fate presents itself with travelers to stick by his side, then everything will be okay. He managed to see it this far without having a sidekick or partner.
There was a time where Rey did have a near-death experience. During a shootout, a stray bullet had found its way through his chest. There was a chance of it coming near to his heart. Before coming to blood loss, a doctor from the town he was residing in was able to patch him up. When the realization hit that he could have died, his perspective of the world and how he behaved quickly changed.
Rey utilized a grimaced face and stern exterior because that is what the state of the world called in. He lived in a shitty world and had to adapt with a shitty attitude. Once he had his epiphany, he acknowledged he had to be more laid back. If this experience happens again, Rey wants to die with a smile on his face. Instead of frowning with the world, he wants to laugh at it in its ugly face.
Awesome, that is great to know. Thank you for the consideration.

Greetings, I had an interest in this role-play. I was hoping if I could be messaged or given a date when this role=play begins accepting characters again?
Great, I'll be working on an application. Thank you.
