I've created an OOC here, but with an alternate account. I was not quite fond of the name 'Legion,' as I do not identify with a large group of armed men or a pack of daemons.

Haha sorry, just had to summarise it. Regarding the info, I don't really have specific inquiries other than the general path you plan this to take. Like, will the characters become runaways trying to understand why they've changed whilst also evading the government, or are they going to be solving things, etc etc. Along those lines.

As in most other stories or series, there is a threat of some form, and the characters are often inclined to either confront or avoid that threat. The threat in the first few episodes or the first season would/could be the character's deprivation of independence and fundamental rights as humans. There is not going to be any epic quest or fighting of evil powers, most of the following threats are quite low-key. My general idea is to use cause and effect to follow up on the initial threat, so things will hopefully progress in a logical manner. However, the runaway scenario is a possibility, but only if it comes naturally in regards to how the players respond to things and develop their characters' stories, etc.
It sounds elementary and childish when you put it that way, but yes, spot on. What kind of further information would you like?

Thanks for taking the time with this character, Dookie. When Slow is ready, we can begin.
Seizure

Augusta, Maine was hit by a mysterious storm two months ago. Numerous people around the city simultaneously experienced a violent seizure, which hospitalized them for several days. When the victims awoke, they described their state of mind as being different or alien. Preliminary testing showed that their neurological conditions were still in seizure, but no physical symptoms could be detected, as they could function normally.

The event caught the attention of state officials, whom forced the affected to go through several testing procedures at national agencies and medical and psychological institutions. Upon completion, they were sent home, but under strict supervision by qualified personnel. It’s currently unknown whether or not the patients pose a threat to their immediate surroundings, which is why their release is subject to revocation.

The patients were diagnosed with eidetic memory, absolute aptitude, zero-loss physiological reaction, metaphysical synesthesia, and absolute nous. These conditions are subject to extreme exploitation and dangerous exertion, which is why the patients are guarded by government agents wherever they go. This story follows a few patients that attend the same educational institution. They have recently returned from the testing procedures. However, they fear that something much worse than being constantly supervised is coming, but they don’t know what or when.

Their first challenge is to get into a room together and talk without the presence of anyone else.

This roleplay will or should function as a television series. Each episode has its own conflict that is related to or somehow builds towards the overarching story. If the roleplay is successful, there could be several seasons. As with any television series, there is or should be focus on the characters and their lives, those they interact with and how the recent events have affected all of these aspects. Therefore, you will portray several supporting characters in this roleplay, but they do not require character sheets. This means that we can interact with each other through supporting characters as well, but our primary characters are the stars of the show.

The ‘Abilities’
In a nutshell, eidetic memory is the ability to recall anything and everything that you have ever heard or seen with pinpoint accuracy. Absolute aptitude is the ability to learn new things to perfection as you see them for the first time. Zero-loss physiological reaction is physical and mental reflexes that appear pre-emptive. Metaphysical synesthesia is the same as color-graphemic synesthesia, but it applies to physical entities in addition to letters and numbers, another word could be Aura Perception. Absolute nous refers to inherit philosophical understanding of what is true or real, genuine thought and reasoning, extreme intellect and common sense and awareness—Aristotle and Einstein are mentally retarded compared to you.
Not that many, but more than just two (three with myself). Perhaps an additional person or two. However, we might have to move over to the casual section to make that happen. If this does not generate more interest, I'll revise the interest check and post it there.
Well, well, didn't think this would fly, but there seems to be two brave souls here. Be warned though, there is no throwing of fireballs or stopping of time in this one.
Yes, it will be a modern setting. The OOC can be found here. Two other people have shown interest as well, but anyone can submit a character. We'll choose whatever character combination that is the most interesting.

Three siblings return to their hometown in Maine in order to settle the funeral of their late mother, who was an abusive old woman. As they delve deeper into a number of disturbing anomalies, they discover a horrifying truth about their mother, which leads them to question themselves and the reality in which they exist.

It is the winter and first quarter of the year 2014. The family name is Palmer. Depending on your character’s age and gender, this might have changed into something else. Their hometown is Kingsmouth, Maine. The Palmer family is Caucasian. The story assumes that your character has moved away from Kingsmouth, which is why all the siblings must return there for the funeral arrangements and other necessities.

A Fair Warning
Certain points in the story might seem slow, but they are not superfluous. There will be scenes that might be graphic or disturbing to read. Certain themes and topics might be of sensitive or complex nature: religion, metaphysics, myths, psychology, etc.

Judith Palmer, the Mother
This is the siblings’ late mother. She was born in 1949. Her thoughts and ideals and her soul were as turbulent as the stormy blizzards of Maine themselves. Judith’s presence may have been charismatic in certain instances and her passions and beliefs may have been prominent, but she was nonetheless deeply troubled by her own philosophies, heavily romanticized internal conflicts, and often reprehensible social actions. She often used her physical attributes and charisma and magnetism to achieve social and romantic dominance, which is how she seduced and tricked her husband into marrying her, even if she had a tendency to struggle with her personal integrity when her appearance or personality was marked. Judith was intelligent, perceptive, sophisticated, cunning, and adaptable, but extremely ruthless and abusive and self-centered, which made her emotionally sensitive and conflicted to the point of moodiness. She was intensely self-critical and introspective, even brooding, and often found thinking and talking to herself for extended periods of time. Judith’s dwelled on pains and perceived injustices of her life, often to the point of over-indulgence, and she often mused on the circumstances that brought her to a specific point in time. She was cynical and world-weary and jaded, extremely passionate and dedicated to prominent personal beliefs that were usually controversial. Judith saw her own values and passions as above or better than those of her husband and children and others, which manifested as arrogance and a martyr-esque attitude. She had an intense drive and determination to live out her philosophies without regard to those around her, which produced numerous conflicts and alienated her from society. Towards the end of her days, she became extremely self-destructive.

Family History
The Palmer family has a strong history in Kingsmouth. They are of English and Irish descent. Francis “Frank” Palmer, the siblings’ late father, and his father before him and so on were all fishermen. Frank worked as the harbormaster of Kingsmouth in the last years of his life. He died shortly after Judith became pregnant with her last child, the youngest sibling. Francis Palmer was the direct opposite of Judith Palmer, the woman he married. He was kind and down to Earth, loving and caring of others. His friends and parents never explicitly stated their opinion about Judith, but most of them thought the woman deceptive and abusive, which she ultimately turned out to be. Why the woman wanted to marry Francis was not obvious for the eye to see, but there was a very specific reason, which has remained unknown to most people so far.
Character Sheet
Send your completed character sheet to me in a private message. We will discuss it and make adjustments if we need to. When we are ready, you will post the character sheet in this thread. When all characters have been posted here, we will make additional tweaks and adjustments if we need to. You are going to live and breathe this character for a long time. Keep this in mind. If there are more than needed ‘applications,’ then I will choose the best possible combination of submitted characters.

Rules and Pledges
Emerge yourself into your character and the story. I will do my utmost best to describe everything that you need to know without spoiling things. I will do my best to find suitable pictures and music for the in-character thread. I will do my best to provide you with other media (books and films) for additional inspiration.

I do not care if it takes you two weeks to make a post, just make it. I value dedication above all else. Spend time on your posts, take time to develop your character, ask for quick character dialog/responses from the rest of us for your post if you have to, and avoid making this roleplay part of your everyday rotation of “whatever, I’ll make some posts.” If you want to leave, all you need to do is send me a message with the words “I quit.” I will not ask why or otherwise bother you about it.
I have a special relationship with what is written here, which is why I will join.
