Personality: Richard is a very calm man, not outwardly charismatic or friendly, but very cool, collected and polite to all he meets. He is slow to anger, although he does feel it from time to time. Throughout all of his years, though, he has learned to control it. Anger makes him rash, and he cannot afford to be rash. Impulse kills people, he knows this, because he’s seen it. He’s seen people die, and perhaps that is why he is no longer the little boy his parents once knew. He’s grown up, he’s learned how the world works in the years he’s been alive, and he’s learned what he’ll have to do to change it. Maybe not for the better, but he knows how to change it. Outremer could stand some changes, couldn’t it? He knows just who to start with too.
Richard seems to have a plan, a long one, and though he used to feel like he was breathing in broken glass and walking on upturned screws; though he felt something delicate in him break long ago, wanted somewhere to belong, someone to dump what was burning him inside out on, he figured that his time would be better used getting what he wanted most. He kept his fire in him, let the pain and anger turn into something else that he doesn’t know what to call- purpose, as some would say. Through all of this, he’s learned one thing: Hate will keep you alive where love fails.
History: Richard Weiss was said to have been born twice. We’ll start with the first time, when he emerged from his mother’s womb to greet the world in wailing, flailing beauty. His parents loved him unconditionally, and Richard led as happy a life a newborn could expect. Richard was a happy child, a smile always on his face, always had a tight hug and a squealing laugh reserved for his mother, father and sister. He loved them dearly, without a thought. It was not until the Spring, ten years after his birth that he gained the cognitive skills to know that his father was noticeably different to the others he might see on the streets.
His family, and himself, were always well-dressed. They always had expensive clothing, drove expensive cars, talked in a rich language, spoke to rich people who did the same and lived in a rich neighborhood in an expensive house. Richard knew that he was different then, but he couldn’t figure out why. Five months later, he would, it was because his father was rich, a business executive. Richard still loved his parents unconditionally, without a thought as to why. On one rainy night, Richard accompanied his parents to a ball, a festive gathering filled with people like his parents. On their way home, though, they collided with another vehicle on the skyway.
Richard knew it was not an accident when bullets ripped through the windshield and severed his sisters’ tethers to life. He knew it was very serious when his hand returned from his stomach, slick with blood when he couldn’t feel his legs and when something on his face felt weird, like it wasn’t there. The family’s caretaker, Lund, threw aside his robes, kicked the door open and threw Richard clear of the wreckage before being cut down by gunfire. No matter how hard or how far Lund could have thrown him, it would not be far enough away to forget what he saw that night. He saw what the men did to his mother, how long they made it. He saw how father cried, not like the strong man that Richard knew, the impeccable alpha wolf that Richard had clung to for safety so many times. Frederick Weiss died crying like a child trying to pack his own entrails back into his stomach.
Richard Weiss will be the first to tell you that, at the time, it hurt to see it all. It hurt to see his sister’s head blown to pieces and holes in her chest. It hurt. Since then, he’s taken a few brothers and sisters to try to ease the pain. No amount of brothers or sisters could make Richard forget, though. So Richard was left on the side of the road until he was taken home by BESC police, thrown from the wreckage, the gaping hole the door left a womb and the police cradled him like a newborn, wrapped tightly in a blanket to top it all off before he was sent to the emergency room of the hospital nearby. He came home to a facade of what was once the mighty castle he took refuge in, his parents’ mansion a bloody mess. The workers all dead, all of the robotic caretakers broken and smoking on the floor.
All except one. Richard hid her away for another time.
He found the huge sum of money behind his parents’ hidden safe. He kept it close, he used it as the fuel for his fire. With nowhere to turn to and no one to kill, his vengeance would have to wait. This occurred to him immediately, but instead of losing hope, he held it close like he held his mother. At only age ten, his uncle and aunt had come to raise him. His smiles had become something less happy, though, he had become something not like Richard Weiss the child. He was Richard Weiss the man by the age of fifteen. He entered into the BESC military after his prestigious schooling and by the age of twenty-five, he had become a military intelligence specialist.
When the Group came to him on a dark and rainy night, not unlike the one he remembered so long ago, he heard what their spokesman had to say. The fire came back to Richard dressed in a leather jacket and smoking a cigarette, Richard felt claws dig into his stomach, his heart getting squeezed by some ethereal hand when the man said he knew who he was and who killed his parents. Richard knew who to trust then, and he decided he’d had enough of the bureaucracy of the BESC. He deserted that night, deserted being a vehicular collision that had claimed his life and the life of the other driver, spinning off the skyway and exploding on the ground below.
Richard Weiss was born on that rainy night. Any notion of the loving child died from a bullet in the gut with his parents at ten years old. Richard Weiss the student, who later became a military intelligence specialist with a directionless vendetta against someone he couldn’t find, no matter how much power the BESC gave him died in a vehicular collision on the skyway. Richard Weiss is one of many dark thoughts hidden away in the forgotten corners of the consciences of CEOs and officers alike now, but he wants the fears of one man to be realized. Realized as Richard Weiss.
Occupation: Intelligence Officer for the Group
Weaponry: His speed and endurance. When those aren’t enough, a 9mm from his Anvil Corp. Sturmfaust handgun usually does the trick.
Augments: Eye replacements from Vera Corp., these allow him the ability to see at night and to zoom in with his vision.
His spine and CNS were replaced, as well as manufactured muscle able to keep up with the increased ability of the new manufactured CNS were put into his body.
One foot of intestine was also regrown from stem cells.
