It's exam season, boys and girls, so postage should be up over the weekend. If you don't hear from me by Monday, honour my memory.

Bio

Well then. I'm exceedingly British, rather sarcastic and I love a good shipfest in my RPs. Also male. Funny, that. Fair warning, I will treat you like an adult. That means I will mock you, point out your mistakes and most likely /cringe when you do something really autistic. Being an adult means accepting criticism and working to improve yourself, not ignoring it. And if I need calling out on my bullshit, just do it. Please. Nothing is worse than not realising that you've said or done something stupid til a week after the fact.

I currently live in Japan, so my posting hours are... weird. Please bear with me.

Sergeant Harald, Gallian Milita

After discussing the plans with Celeste, Harald called the rest of the squad together in an adhoc briefing. 'Well then kids, judging by Hunt and co's report, we won't be able to make a frontal assault. Therefore we've thrashed out a plan to grab the Imp's attention while hitting them in the rear.' Laying his map out before them, he and the Corporal explained the plan in detail, making sure everyone knew their roles. '... and that's the gist of it. Stichler's team will be fighting in close quarters, so I want Kyo and Sykora with her. Jatmoore too, since they'll need a good pair of eyes. The rest of you will hit the front with me. Durandal, MacDonald, you guys will be responsible for knocking out strongpoints in the windows. The rest of us will pour on as much fire as we can, then move in to secure the first building. If Stichler's team hasn't caught up with us by then, we dig in and hold that farmhouse. All good? Good. We still have a few hours of sunlight; grab some sleep. We move at 0200.'

'Quiet now lads... Nearly there.' Crawling prone across a muddy field, Sergeant Harald was focussed entirely on the flickering light coming from an upper floor window ahead. Only a couple of hundred metres ahead was a low wall, close enough to the farmhouse to be a good firing point, but far enough away to provide decent cover. If the squad could just get that far before getting spotted, they might stand a chance of pulling this off. Harald froze as a beam of light shone from one window, all but certain they'd been had. After a tense moment, the light disappeared... Someone fucking with a torch perhaps. Bastard near enough gave me a heart attack... He continued on, the rest of the team fanning out around him as they approached the wall. They were nearly in position. They had already rehearsed the attack beforehand; once everyone was ready, the lancers would punch a few holes in the farmhouse. Once the Imps responded, the team would have to weather the storm and pray that the others made it. Harald finally reached the wall, leaning his shoulder against its reassuring firmness. 'Alright then... Lancers?', he whispered. 'Fuck 'em up.'
Anyone else thinking of posting? Now that the generator's down, its time for Beserks and gas. Then its shiv time.

Also, fuck I missed it by two days, but Happy 1st Birthday to Final Fantasy VIII: Tempus Veneficarum.
Never expected it to last this long.
I forgot. Again.
I really should add a 'maybe' every time I say I'm gonna post.
Yup.
Assault Team One is Syrus and Kein (plus one more if anyone wants to go with them)
Assault Team Two is Jericho with two free slots.
Generator Team is Heloise.
Hector and Selena are on special duty.
Everyone else is on standby ready to start the riot with Beserks and psychotropic gas.
You guys chose who goes where, but it's petty much first come first served on the assault teams.
'W-wait, man I...' Shit, thought Kein, caught off-guard by Syrus' preternatural awareness. How in the hell did he know? Duncan had been pretty careful and hadn't spoke that loudly; was Syrus feeling guilty for having gone down before? That kind of explained the gloomy atmosphere and why he hadn't been as... outspoken as usual. 'I dunno man, I was just told to go with you. Part of the plan, y'know? Hell, I thought there were meant to be three of us here...' Kein scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, grumbling about the shitty uniforms the Faction had provided. 'We're on the assault team, right? Can't do it on your own.' Privately he too wondered why Duncan had asked him to watch Syrus; did the boss think he was gonna do something? Or maybe he just wanted Kein to keep an eye on him as a medic, make sure he was fit for duty. Pretty risky idea if that was the case though. 'Look. I ain't got a clue why, but the Boss wanted us together, so we're together. Heck, tell you what!' He patted the pocket with his broken bottle, the same sort of improvised weapon everyone on the assault teams had been given. 'Wanna take bets on who gets to whack the Prez? Hundred Gil on me.' Kein gave a fearless grin, though the effect was kinda wasted behind the helmet.

1914. Six minutes before the float reaches the target area. The parade had been in full swing for over an hour by now and was finally reaching the crowded plaza outside the Presidential Residence. Duncan had taken the utmost care to ensure that the area was utterly packed, using the Faction's influence to herd the crowds into the area way above the plaza's practical limit. More bodies would make the plan go smoother, the escape easier; he spared a thought for the innocents who were about to be caught up in it but a degree of collateral damage was unavoidable... and acceptable. Duncan thumbed his radio. 'Assault teams, confirm readiness.' An answer soon came amid a small burst of static. 'Team One, confirmed boss.' That was Kein. Putting aside his doubts about the kid's competence, Duncan was fairly sure he could keep Syrus from doing anything overly conspicuous. It wasn't that he distrusted Syrus or anything, quite the opposite in fact. The kid just had a distinct flair for the extreme, a habit of using over the top methods when a bit of subtlety would work just as well. Maybe he could learn something from Heloise, assuming she could deliver the goods. Speaking of which... 'Generator Team, confirm readiness.' He didn't bother to confirm with the others; Hector and co were busy scanning the crowds for suspicious characters and the others were dotted around in civvies, ready to help whip up a riot. 'HVT approaching target area. Prepare to deploy in three minutes, repeat 180 seconds. 179, 178...' Just like in Timber, Duncan had taken a position high above the mission area, laying prone on top of the Victory Arch. Heloise had the Dispel-imbued dagger, but just in case it failed he had his paramagic rifle loaded up to disrupt the shields and allow her a second shot. Hopefully she wouldn't need it, but that depended on Xerox and his not-always-reliable machines. After what felt like an eternity, the float finally crept into just the right place. 'Four, three, two, one. Generator Team, go for it!'
My bad. Got drunk.
Will post tonight right now.
Fair enough. All going well, I'll move us on tomorrow then.
All of my apologies, but in the light of slow interest (and far too much IRL crap being dumped on my plate), I'm cancelling this RP. Sorry Pathfinder, Charter, I appreciate all the work you guys did on your characters. Hopefully you'll be able to use them elsewhere.
Sooo... at the risk of Pyotr ending up in a dialogue with Suki, anyone else planning to post soon?
Right then, if no-one else posts by the end of the night, we'll move onto the mission. Bear in mind that those on the assault teams are wearing Galbadian uniforms as per Jericho's suggestion; sorry, should have clarified this earlier...
