I sort of picked Galio because I liked the name, but what sort of place is it? You mentioned that Orguis was a the desert city and it reminded me that I had no idea what sort of place I was calling home. XD

Name: Charlie Cesana (Charles)

Height: 5’10’’ / 178cm
Personality: Charles is very stern in the way he talks and acts. He rarely has to speak up or repeat himself. He’s always on his toes, ready to stomp out trouble before it ignites. He comes across as tense to his peers, or even paranoid and arrogant at the most extreme. This makes it very difficult to approach him, but also difficult to trick him or have to stand up against him. His stern nature comes with a keen eye and heavy concentration, giving him a menacing advantage in arguments and battle. However, he’s not so bold as to take on a hopeless situation. He’s still wise enough to know when he’s beat, but his more arrogant attitude towards his weaker peers cannot be ignored either.
Bio: Charles was born a Fire Wielder working for a glassmaking guild in the desert. His trade was all that he knew growing up; his mundane life, precise work, and harsh climate shaping him into the person whom he is. Nothing too exciting happened during his life- he was going to continue working for the guild, possibly marrying a Water Wielder he knew from the village.
One night, though, a group of Earth Wielders thought it would be a good idea to raid the mostly unguarded village where he lived. They made quick work of the few guards patrolling the town, but Charles wouldn’t stand it. The rage inside of him built up, and something clicked inside of the mind. His flames, which were seeping out of his body, gradually turned blue. The town, now covered in awe, watched Charles as he drove the bandits away from the village. After the incident, Charles’s caretakers realized that he had the potential for so much more than just glassmaking. Charles realized this, too. Since training to use his wielding to fight wasn’t something his parents could give him, he decided to abandon his life as a glassmaker to train and become a mercenary at Rohad Academy.

What are the city-states like? Or, to narrow it down a bit, where do you think a married couple of skilled Earth Wielders would live?

Also, is wielding hereditary? i.e. is it possible for, say, two Fire Wielders to give birth to someone having an affinity for Water Wielding?
