Algrim Whitemane,
The night before the summit

Algrim and his entourage stood before the great gates of Sky haven. Slowly, it shifted aside at their presence with a creak of protest that was accompanied only by the grumblings and grunts of those on the other side of the gate pulling it open for the house's entrance. Armoured guards looked down from the ramparts above, each clutching their weapons to bare as they watched the "barbarians" below.
Algrim looked up at the night sky, the day was coming to a close just as the celebrations had a few hours before. Part of him was glad, for he was in no mood fit for celebrations. He had since dismounted the stone steed and now stood on his own two feet, casting his gaze back to the gates and the guards above, he looked at each of their faces, Fear. he saw in their eyes as he returned their gaze. After a few seconds of a silent standstill, he dropped his glance back to the gates, they where now open.

The first to step across the threshold, from dirt to stone. Algrim walked, the tanned soles of his shoes clapping against the cobblestone below. The streets were now empty, bar the odd cloaked traveller or guards bearing their torches aloft as they strolled the street. When all that followed him had gathered within the courtyard, bathed in the shadow of the gate behind them. Algrim turned on his heel to face them.
"Now, I know the day is old and the celebrations have passed. For this I apologise, but go now and spend your pay, whether it be in a tavern below the benches or within the warm embrace of a women. This night is yours to spend." Algrim spoke somewhat joyfully to the gathered men who had assured his journey here, was a safe one.
He watched as each departed from the group, going off to explore this new city in which they found themselves until only the Druid Malakai, Brutus and 4 men remained, each clad in finery becoming of a noble and clad in a chain shirt over a fine cloth shirt, a sword hung at their side within a scabbard. These where the Oathsworn, each had sworn an oath to protect the War Chief Algrim. Algrim himself, was clad in a fine cloak covering a boiled leather chest piece and a white pelt of a beast covered his shoulders, a sign within House Whitemane that he was the Head of House.

The group of seven, made their way towards the palace unmolested, a much needed rest awaited them after all the formalities and handing over of weapons was done...

Day of the Summit

Algrim sat on the throne, his face that of neutrality or perhaps boredom as he watched those whom represented the many houses of Eledyn bicker amongst themselves. Behind him, a statue in Lorem Whitemane's likeness stood, clad in the furs of animals, he held a spear outstretched towards the center of the room.
As the summit proceeded, he found himself frowning at the words of James's Conrad, the whole realm in the hands of a Conrad, who knows what such a man would do with such power. If rumour's were to be held as truth, he had tried to bribe a few of the houses the night prior, more reason to not allow the man the position of power he lusted for.
Algrim then found himself nodding at the words of House Benedikt, who showed reason and thought behind his words.
Remaining his façade of neutrality, Algrim remained silent throughout the whole Summit. Simply watching until it's end, and then leaving the capital as soon as possible.
Algrim Whitemane
Algrim exhaled deeply, his breath appearing before him in a white mist as his gloved hand absently patted the flank of the Stone Warhorse below him. Even through the leather, he could feel the stone steed's cold, rough exterior and the power of the magic working and emanating from within like a beating heart that remained strong, even in these dark times. The stone steeds eyes glowed an emerald-like glow, as it gazed around, never failing, never dimming.
Reign, the very same Makitherin forged spear that was once held by Lorem Whitemane, the founder of house Whitemane in times of old, was now like a burden to Algrim as he carried it across his back and kept in place by a leather strip tied around his chest. In a similar fashion to that of the stone steed's eyes, one of keen eyesight would see that the spear tip also glowed an emerald-like glow albeit faintly.

The days are growing colder. He thought, Now with the crown of Fire missing, there was nothing to stop the coming winter. His thoughts wandered to that of his children and home, a few days had passed since he had waved his farewells to his remaining family, his bloodline, his joy and they were all he had left. Even fewer days had passed since he had left the border of the Greenwood, already was he yearning for home, to return to that which he knew and was familiar with. But now he was heading into a den of wolves, before him sprawled the city of renowned splendours, Sky haven.
The slight rise of craggy rock he sat atop his Warhorse on, offered a view of the city over the walls but little protection from the wind as he gazed over the sight before him, he idly contemplated the reason for each house being here. It was a sombre one, a king was dead, a good king, but with no eligible heir left to ascend the now idle throne and take his place, the cold winter was also starting to show its icy claws once again, it did not look good for the people of Eledyn and hard times were ahead. This also gave way to bids for power and left the houses to bicker amongst themselves and pick through the remains, frankly Algrim was ashamed at such displays he knew he would witness. Nothing would he take apart in though, or so he told himself.
"Very observant..." A voice, as sharp as the whistling wind and snow that was so common back home, emanated from behind him.
"Malakai” Algrim spoke plainly. The Court Druid of House Whitemane, while indeed a powerful and proven druid in the primal ways, had an air of untrustworthiness to him. He had insisted on joining Algrim to Sky haven for a reason unknown to himself, perhaps he was just curious, wanting to see the glorified city in person? Nevertheless his power could prove useful, so he had agreed.
"We are ready to move." Again, the voice spoke.
Looking back over his shoulder, he now saw the druid, clad in green, hooded robes that hid his face from view and billowed in the wind. In his right hand he held an old, well-worn oak staff, several feathers hung on string from its wooden base. Behind the cloaked druid, a little way of the rise and on the well-trodden dirt road below, stood a small retinue of armed guards and nobles, all looking expectantly with their shields and weapons in their hands. A shaking of fur to his right, indicated that Brutus, Algrim's own hound and the largest kept by House Whitemane was ready also. Looking down at the loyal hound that stood, alert as ever beside him. Brutus’s black fur stood out against the snow and his brown eyes returned his gaze. They were ready.

Turning his back to the retinue, again facing Sky haven, he spoke quietly in an ushered tone.
"Let's not keep our friends in the capital waiting then"
Without another word, he leaned over and whispered words of magic into the ear of the stone warhorse and the steed began its trot once again, its stone hooves clattering against the rock and then dirt below. It was soon to be followed by the marching sound of boots, one after enough and the clatter of hooves. The banner held at the fore-front of the party, stood aloft in the sky signifying their allegiance. House Whitemane, it spoke boldly to whomever was surely watching them from the stone walls of Sky haven.
Once more, I find myself within a den of wolves.
When we're working out military pop. For boats do we count a certain amount of people for each boat to row etc. or are they just represented as 1 pop?
If you would be so kind, I too would like a population and military number.
House Whitemane

Head of House: Algrim Whitemane

House Specialty:
"Sleep well and without fear, for when such a hound watches over you, care not for the dark." Algrim Whitemane, commenting on House Whitemane's Hounds.
Well bred War dogs. The dogs bred within the region are stronger and larger than most in the realm. Highly sought after for their ferocious abilities in combat, these large dogs are more suited as guard dogs or war dogs and are trained as such, taught to ignore the chaos of battle and to attack on command, these hounds of war are to be feared. The people of the region share a strong bond with their canine companions for they fight side by side. (Share a similar appearance to the now extinct Molossus breed of dog.)

House Ancestral Weapon: Reign - A short spear wielded by Lorem Whitemane, founder of House Whitemane during the Wyrm Wars. Currently wielded by Algrim Whitemane as tradition demands the spear be held by the current Head of House. Infused with the ability to summon a stone steed, a mighty, full-sized, roughly hewn statue of a warhorse, carved from some type of hard stone erupts from the ground, it's eyes gleaming an emerald green glow. Not hampered by the need for food, water or rest, makes a mighty stone steed.

Important members:

Nation/Realms Name: The Greenwood

Sigil:

House Motto: WIP

Region/color on map: Green

Race name: Known as Lorem's Folk to their own, but labelled as many names by others.

Racial appearance: Humans hailing from the region tend to be slightly taller than the average, featuring darker colours of hair and paler skin as well as more earthly coloured pupils. This relating to their life in the colder regions of the northern forests, just under the mountains.

Racial traits: WIP

Capital: Fyrestone - A grand city facing outwards from the mountains with it's back to it. A mere village in the times of Lorem Whitemane, has since flourished in the dark north under the guidance of House Whitemane. WIP

Capital Population: 34,389

Other Major Settlements:
High Tower - Originally built as a watch tower atop a raised cliff by the ocean to watch out for Beast men attacks from the neighbouring isles. High Tower has since grown into a rather successful trading village built around the original stone tower, due to it's position by the gap in the mountains, it sees constant traders passing through, but still it's original mission still stands.
Soldier's Port - A military and trading wharf. Set upon the coast, as guessed by it's name, is the largest military port within the Whitemane's land, responsible for maintaining a large portion of the navy and providing transport for the realm's soldiers, Soldier's Port is also the main port for trading by sea with other houses.
Apple Lane - A large village built along the river flowing through the region, it stands as the largest agricultural village, with irrigation channels dug around the village. Provides vast amounts of wheat and bailey during summer, less so during the winter months.
Wintervale - A fort built towards the south of the region, silently watches the southern border for threat of attack from the odd beast man raiding party, but more predominately the other houses south.
Easthaven - An obscure fort built on the western border of the region to watch over the rest of Greenwood and it's residents. two rumours swirl around the fort and it's naming as it is in the west of the Whitemane's realm. One says the fort was a gift from Valarien to the Whitemanes hence the name, Easthaven. The other is that a noble Cartographer, once drunk travelled west rather than his intended east, and ended up naming this piece of land Easthaven on his travels. The name has stuck.

Population: 3,301,200

Culture:
Often labelled as barbarians to those uneducated in the large culture of the House Whitemane's lands or the past, a façade that is not all untrue but maintained by the house nevertheless, as it's reputation inspires fear among other things. The few that do travel within it's borders report an unexpected show of culture and civilisation unbecoming of their reputation, albeit not nearly as civilised as most of the houses of Eledyn. The people of the Greenwood are known for their honour, courage and strong, unbreaking traditions and oaths, this is clearly shown as House Whitemane have brought many a old tradition with them through the ages.

As their ancestors did before them, the people share a strong connection with the Sky Pantheon, more specifically with the one known as "The One who Sleeps". The father, who sacrificed himself to trap the void, a god who only knew darkness and destruction, intent on destroying the realm, jealous of the life it contained. Now, the father slumbers in dormant, keeping the Void trapped within himself below the crusts of the Earth. The people follow and worship the Slumbering One, as House Bennet follow Kammeth. He shall return and guide the people who remain loyal unto him, or so the belief goes. Primal magic is the most common form of magic to be found within the Greenwood, as it is the most in tune with nature and the one who slumbers, but with the passing of time, has become increasingly rarer.

Type of Government: (Succession Laws and form of Governing/Title used)

Influence and relations:

Military: 16,506
War Dogs and Handlers: 660
The infamous Hounds of House Whitemane, the size of these dogs is matched only by their ferociousness, both of which they have in abundance. Trained for war and to fight side by side with their handler, a warrior in their own right and normally known for their martial prowess for it is an honour to handle such a hound. Each trained to fight alongside their counterpart, make deadly opponents. The dog, clad in spiked lamellar around the chest and abdomen, and the handler also clad in a suit of lamellar rather than the usual chain shirt, this allowing for more movement to better move and coordinate with their canine companion and equipped with the equipment of a noble. Beware the Hounds of War.

Spear Band:

The backbone of the Whitemane's army. Clad in a standard issue Chain Shirt and Coppergate Helmet, as well as anymore armour they can afford, craft or loot and equipped with a large Kite Shield, Spear and javelins and often a dagger or Shortsword. These Spear Band's are the closest thing to guards in their cities and villagers when not at war, taking their armour and weapons with them, they take justice in their home towns into their own hands. When in times of war, these bands of warriors are pulled from the villages and join the army. They form the bulk of the army, and are known for forming Shield walls. Many a battle has been won for House Whitemane due to the Shield wall. Believed to have adopted this formation from the Phoenix Throne's army, House Whitemane's own Shield walls involve pushing with it, a wall of shields advancing across the field as those behind throw Javelins and axes.

Longbowmen:

Scout Riders:

Heroic Nobles:

These nobles, know that noble blood must be proven through the blood of others. As such, rather than dabbling in politics or land, they pledge themselves to the army, pursuing martial glory that can only be achieved on the battlefield. Buying the best in available armour and weapons, there only true pursuit is physical fitness and gaining glory for their families.

Nexerus, the land you want has already been claimed.
Edit: Ah, I re-looked, didn't see the comment about it only being the mountains. ;)
If we're planting claims, I'd like to plant mine in the majority of the dark purple region, north-east of Skyhaven, along the mountain range. just west of the red island and east of the northern most green. (These colours are from the map showing terrain, not player kingdoms.)
