@21308 I'm guessing those are Lorikeets if they're parrots? They're the only ones I know that feed on nectar...
@Akayaofthemoon Well, parrotlets are great. Just don't keep them around other animals because they're pretty aggressive (in my experience females are particularly) towards them and don't know their size, so either one or the other might get hurt. It does depend on the individual, but as a general room I'd house them somewhere away from the other pets.

@21308 You have no idea how much I hate the term 'bird brain'. Corvids, parrots (and as I've recently discovered) toucans are INCREDIBLY intelligent (though some are smarter than others) and most people don't really understand my enthusiasm towards birds (or arthropods but that's a whole other can of worms), especially when I mention them as pets. Most people probably just kept a budgie in a cage all day and expected it to just sit there and look pretty. It's alarmingly common and is in no way healthy for the bird if they're kept alone. They're flock animals.
I remember the day I brought my green cheek to school while waiting for my turn to preform in the school musical. Most people were actually scared of the poor thing, and it rubbed right off him...But a lot of people were suddenly fascinated and noticed how friendly and curious and sweet he is, and they opened their minds a bit to them.

And you have no idea. Those are parrotlets, and I used to babysit these suckers and had my own, though mine was a pretty special case as a disabled and traumatized bird. Their feathers are incredibly soft and downy, my favourite of all bird feathers I've dealt with, and most handfed ones are huge cuddlers. They've got real big brains, personalities and spirit for such little birds, and don't know their own size though, and get in a lot of trouble because of it!
They're even smaller than budgies. The smallest of parrots, actually. I believe the Spectacled Parrotlet (the ones here are Pacifics) are the smallest but I could be wrong.

@Akayaofthemoon Yellow Pearl's expressions, the way Yellow Diamond reacted, seeing the Crystal Gem's faces as they watched, and having Peridot call Yellow Diamond a clod...It was all great. And Peridot's 'what have I done' moment was priceless.
