Yeah makes sense thanks!

In this case I shall likely go ahead and create a senator-y type guy who assassinates in his spare time, and go from there as a lower rank. If need be I could always make a second character later on.
I am mucho interesto!

Will be working on a CS asap. I will maybe involve myself in the more political side of things – maybe a senator or some kind of wealthy Roman citizen who supports the assassins or something. I can’t decide between that or an actual assassin character… maybe both mixed into one.

Where would you stand on me having two characters?

Where would you stand on the rank of such characters? (Both a senator type lacky, and a pure assassin guy?) I guess the senator would be appropriate with a rank like deciple, but for an assassin I’d prefer either to be at assassin rank, or to be veteran about to be moved up or something :3
Posted - I'm feeling a little more alert, funny how numerous cups of coffee can do that to ya :p

I'm digging the inital interactions between the characters. Looking forwards to getting out of the meeting and really 'intereacting' with each other as we finalise the plans.
Thorin continued to smoke as he listened, his attention fixed on Mr Johnson as he explained the job. He raised his eyebrows as he watched the holographic image of this ‘Big Dog’ move around, easily dodging incoming fire whilst returning shots of its own. Thorin wasn’t particularly impressed, but then again he wasn’t that much of a fan of drones, having spent a small portion of time fighting against them on previous outings. Glancing over to the rigger he could see that Thovren seemed to be appreciating the hell out of it, a quiet whistle even escaping his lips. If their ‘expert’ thought that the drone was worthwhile, then that was good enough for him to trust in its value.

It seemed their mission was to be broken down into several objectives, the first and most important was obvious – get the drone’s blueprints from the corporation’s servers and wipe any remaining trace of them. Obviously without these blueprints they wouldn’t see a single Nuyen, and so it would be their main focus. Thorin didn’t know exactly how helpful he could be when it came to this part of the job, but he assumed that their new hacker friend Red Five would take the lead here. If she needed protection whilst she worked the server or even just getting out, then that’s where he would come in.

The second part of the job seemed like it could be more up his alley. Devon McIntosh, the designer of the drone was also an objective for them – and it also seemed like without dealing with him one way or another they wouldn’t be getting paid. He had apparently already refused offers to leave Koch-Huang and had informed them that someone was trying to get to him, and so in Thorin’s mind he was unlikely to accept any other offers of bribery that the team could offer him. That meant that unless their face Lei-Ne was something special, he was sure that only his own brand of intimidation would do the job. If that failed then he was sure that he could end the human’s life with little relative trouble, even if he did turn out to be under heavy guard. That being said Thorin knew that a bonus for bringing him out alive would be something he didn’t want to pass up without at least attempting it, and see using his retinal implants he took a snapshot of the man’s face.

The last stage of the mission involved the prototype of the drone itself, finding out if it still existed and then making sure that if it did, that Koch-Huang wouldn’t be able to use it to reverse engineer anything. Again Thorin was sure that the information about the prototype drone would be in their servers, so Red Five would be able to tell them if they needed to worry about this. Knowing how missions tend to go, Thorin decided it would be best to treat this one as a primary objective as well, as if they didn’t account for it you could be damn sure that the drone would still exist, and that it’d end up coming back to bite them in the ass.

For the entire mission they would have a month, plus ten thousand nuyen in advance for whatever they needed to get the job done. Six thousand nuyen each would be delivered upon completion of the job, he assumed providing they met the basic requirements of the job. Thorin thought for a few moments, watching as Old Soul began to manipulate his drink and create a tiny scale replica of the prototype drone as he spoke. Thorin nodded thoughtfully as he spoke of not wanting to dispose of the engineer, and after catching a few surprised looks from the others he added “I agree with him. No point in disposing of someone who is basically pure nuyen to us.” Even though he agreed for very different reasons, it made sense to him to rule out killing this Devon McIntosh, just from a financial standpoint. “The way I see it” Thorin began, taking another swig from his drink as he did “Is that this McIntosh guy may not willingly come out of there, let’s face it – we are being offered just shy of ¥50,000 because he wouldn’t play ball. So even if we gotta drag him out kicking and screaming the bonus has to be worth it?” he directed the end of his question at Mr Johnson before he added “That is unless you can get him out legitimately” turning his gaze to Lei-Ne.

As the others asked their questions he continued to listen and consider what was being said. The only other question he added once the others had spoken was “So these… optional objectives, how much bonus are we talkin for getting this McIntosh out alive, and how much for getting that drone prototype out in one piece? If it aint worth the trouble then a well-placed shot would deal with both problems in just a few moments, and we wouldn’t need to piss around trying to get them out.” As he finished speaking Old Soul’s little aqua-drone had rolled over to his side of the table, and with a smirk he extinguished the end of his cigarette on it before looking up at Mr Johnson, waiting for their answers.
I will post today.... I'm just a bit dead on my feet. Only got about two hours sleep last night because of my damn tooth, and having to head off to work now.

So my bad if its not a very long or amazing post :p
I'm about to head home from work - will get working on a CS when I get home. I'm only vaugly familiar with Chinese History - but very familar with Japan's history and the history of Rome (And how that worked as a republic and empire ect). So I should be okay in the setting.

I will probably be behind whichever faction wants to turn the country into a republic :)
Throin continued to watch the game from the corner of his vision, though he only had to wait a few moments. As the last individual entered shortly after him there was a small flurry of activity as the card players stood and left tougher, obviously the game was just a small distraction for this man before the real business started. Thorin grinned to himself at the idea of interrupting their game for the meeting, knowing that something like that would have driven him crazy if he was one of the players. As he moved over and sat at the central table he nodded at the offer of a drink, not caring particularly what was brought. As the others requested their various beverages, coffee, water and nothing, Thorin almost snorted, but resisted the urge to before he grunted “Whisky.”

Thorin listened as the man spoke, and as he went around the table and summarised each of them he had to admit it looked like he’d done his homework on them and had selected them specifically to work this job for him based on their merits. It wasn’t the strangest thing in this world, and so Thorin didn’t feel so worried, plus his own ‘summary’ had given him some pleasure and a sinister grin had spread across his face for a few moments, his sharp teeth gleaming in the light of the backroom. The others seemed to be varied in their skills and abilities from what Johnson said, and together he was sure that they’d be able to handle any mission as long as no-one messed things up.

Before the job was explained Mr Johnson asked “First, tell me, how much do you know of each other? And more importantly: what do you know of a corporation called Koch-Huang Industries?"

Thinking for a few moments Thorin realised he hadn’t heard of any of the others. He’d not heard of the corp either – so he guessed it probably wouldn’t be selling weapons or booze or anything interesting like that. He listened as the street samurai Quicksilver was the first who spoke, pointing the question in the direction of the rigger, Thovren, was it? As he slid his cigarettes across the table and spoke of enforcer work Thorin nodded once to show that he was correct before he took one of the smokes and lit it up, adding to the rapidly accumulating cloud in the room before he slid the packet back, making a mental note that the street sam was now his favourite.

The awakened one, Old Soul he had been called spoke up next, asking about some other corporation – Aztechnologies. Again Thorin hadn’t heard of it at all, but that didn’t surprise him. So many different corporations with so many different names that he couldn’t care less about.

The Fixer spoke up "I know of Koch-Huang industries. They make good robotics and drone chassis designs. Expensive ones. Their designs are supposed to be fairly complex to figure out and look at. Most people couldn't tell if they were looking at a digital toaster or an explosive. I can only assume you are mentioning Koch-Huang because either they are helping us in some way. Or shooting at us by the end of the week.”

Thorin grunted in amusement, at least this elf was to the point and right about one thing. Personally Thorin was sure it would be the latter, always seemed to be. Especially if this corp was responsible for high end drones and other bits, then it seemed plausible that they’d be stealing or sabotaging something, that was unless Kock-Huang were the ones looking for some dirty work to be done.

Clearing his throat and removing his sunglasses Thorin took another drag on his smoke before he chimed in “Koch-Huang don’t ring any bells with me. To be honest I’m not one for names or faces…” As he finished speaking he took a swig from the glass that had been placed before him. The alcohol was surprisingly good quality, though it burnt his throat and eyes somewhat and he almost coughed. The sensation was actually quite pleasurable, and so he took another swig as he waited for someone else to speak, satisfied that his short summarising statement would be adequate for Mr Johnson and the others.
I'm looking forwards to getting this one fully in gear as well :)

I'm at work at the moment, but will be ready to post this eve if the next round happens once y'all guys back from school n what not.

I'm assuming at some point (possibly in the evening in the RP) that all of the characters will gather to discuss their options and plans, beyond gathering information and getting used to the Mundane's world n all?
also I was wondering whats the value of creds?

I mean like - how much is a lot? How much is a little?

For example the Ruger Super Warhawk is 250credits I think... The cost of Bone Lacing for example is 5,000 - 40,000, depending on which level you get.

How much would we get paid for instance?
Dem some nice guns...

I think you shall find that my CS clarifies that my weapon is a Ruger Super Warhawk. Though I didn't realise that there were so many different Rugers :p I just picked it as had a cool picture in the rulebook.

Will get working on a post this morning.
