As the governor rode upon his black horse reaching the city after years of touring his province governing maintaining order he was relieved when he returned home. 5,000 new legionaries were marching off the boat, Romes finest here, the senate had done as he asked. While this wouldn’t be enough to perhaps win the war it would be enough to defend. He sent all 5,000 legionaries to the river to defend while they would also travel through the city and outer towns showing them Governor Velos hasn’t forgoten. Making them 20,000 strong while he still had 10,000 in reserve protecting the city. He would write back to the senate thanking them and perhaps to his ally who had made the proposal.

As the governor rode upon his black horse with 5,000 auxilia surrounding him, he felt relieved in 3 years he’s his men have been able to keep the barbarians from the gates which would allow Julius to take his escort around the province to garner support for himself and his men.

Yet, he was also worried what if the barbarians had become rampant and his forces had no way to stop them, luckily before he left the city he had sent word back to the senate for an increase in men if not an all out war, which he would favor as he would be able to expand and his men to follow him.

I’m sorry to say my force of 25,000 total men will not be able to hold back the masses and as such wish to request a legion be sent to better protect your most outlying territory. Though, I hope this finds you well, I would understand if forces were diverted to Delos as they seem to be in just as much trouble as myself. Yet one letter he had been sent which interested him far more was from Governor Fermetius, especially as he had never met the man nor did he know much about him. Yet one more matter had his attention before he began his governing of the province, specifically that of the recent incursion on the Province of Delos. Much like Lacedonia is a rather outlying province and a backwashed area, yet it has fewer men in it and is much less essential. But no matter the governor would need to show his support as well as show it to his fellow governor.

Lacedonia, Governor’s Palace

While Governor Conrad was honored to be given the province of Lacedonia, he was rather nervous he had known the people disliked the Republic and worried what they would do with a loyal Governor. Perhaps Conrad did have plans to expand yet that wouldn’t be for a while, till he had support either from his men or his people.

When Governor Conrad was told about the barbarians attacking he knew he wouldn’t be able to stop them with his meager force and even if he could there was no way his men would follow him into the unknown without senate approval. So he informed Praetor Marius to have the the ninth legion and 10,000 Auxilia to patrol the the river crossing and maintain order in the further provinces while the Governor would wait and send word back to the republic and hope the Republic would send reinforcements along with a declaration of war.

In order to further persuade the senate he would write a letter to a well known Senator Marcus. He would even throw in a surprise for his dear friend

House Ancestral Artifact: The former weapon of House Yervington was a sword that was meant to be a symbol of power. Yet when House Selvus took over, they melted it down and forged part of it into a dagger used for torture against the King Enemy's. Landscape: The Landscape of Umbras is fairly flat and open. The kingdom used to be prosperous due to all the crops that could be planted yet due to the recent war. People have died and farms destroyed

Wildlife: The wildlife of Umbras are mostly deer, horses and smaller animals such as rabbits.

Economy: The Kingdom of Umbras isn't exactly prosperous, however, being a mostly arable land they are well known to supply major food exports. While metals may be scarce however.

Religion: Most of the country worship Kammeth however most of the nobles care little for relgion especially House Selvus who are nearly atheists or perhaps they worship something far darker.

History: ?

Strengths:

Thieves Guild: The thieves guilded housed in Snakes hold, is where many deaths are sentenced without a war or in times of desperation. While they may ask money or more from other houses and families. The Guild Masters have always been close to House Selvus so as to allow their services to remain. Favors are often used, many assume it was one of these such assassin that hunted down the last of House Yervington's family.

Network of Informants: House Selvus doesn't strike on whims or because they desire they know the game all to well and have been well informed on almost all that goes in their kingdom and now that they've risen to high Lords they'll soon learn of all the Empire's Secrets

Weaknesses:

New Leadership: House Selvus only recently came to power within their lands and while they may have a somewhat solid control over their lands other lords around them strongly dislike them.

Devestated Land: Due to recent rebellions and revolts the Kingdom isn't fully capable as it was under House Yeringtons and won't be for some time.

Export: Mostly export wildlife and food due to the flat and open areas for farming.

Import: Most metals are needed.
