Bio

Been on-and-off of the site for a long time. Male, late-twenties. My interests are varied, but steer towards western fantasy and sci-fi. I'm picky with my weeb media.

And now that you know their armaments, numbers and their general strategy, this isn't going to be much of a surprise. :/

Apparently, surprises are not well received with our party. So, perhaps that's for the best.

EDIT: Also, yeah, sorry. Didn't mean to inconvenience anyone. I didn't assume it would be a very big deal, or that it'd make posting difficult for some of you. Apologies.
I PM'd Groth before I did anything. I wouldn't just jump into it pre-GM-approval.

The Ogryn and Gaius are having a look around, setting up a perimeter, etc. I'd like to know if it'd be okay for them to stumble across maybe a few mutants or something else unpleasant to fight. Thoughts?

Sure. I was actually planning on having the group run into a mutant party anyway. I'd add human marauders to their party too, just simple medieval highwaymen. Armor shouldn't be more advanced than chainmail, using an assorted mix of swords axes, clubs, bows, crossbows and the rare flintlock. The mutants shouldn't be nearly as well equipped as the marauders, but they can be hellishly fast (with their extra jointed limbs). Their numbers should be anywhere from 12-20. I don't expect it to be much of a fight, and they'll probably run once we gun down half of them.

Everything about that guy was awful. Man has a punchable face if there ever was one.

Seconded.
Gaius and Grav have made first contact with the locals. So, that'll be fun.
Gaius trudged along, silently contemplating the situation. He and the Interrogator would need to get back to Inquisitor Case at some point, or at least get in touch with him, but how? As he moved quietly through the wooded area, he noted that Grav was being surprisingly quiet for an Ogryn. Perhaps he understood the need for stealth when scouting. This was definitely good. There may be hope for the brute yet, Gaius thought. Suddenly, there was a noise, a rustling in the foliage. Gaius fingered the shotgun on his back, but opted instead for the power maul at his hip, drawing it out and leveling his glare squarely in the direction of the noise. He prepped his shield and took a stance, signaling for Grav to stop.

"Reveal yourself!" Gaius called. He regretted that he had. Out of the nearby foliage came a hideous mutant. Not massive like the Ogryn next to him, but tall and spindly, with multi-jointed arms and legs that bent in disturbing ways, and a mouth that was just slightly too big for it's face. Gaius flipped the switch on his power maul to it's highest setting, intending to fry the disgusting perversion of humanity when it got close. The thing jumped at him, and he smacked it with his shield, but it latched on, it's multi-jointed arms finding the gaps in Gaius' defense.

"Grav! Go and warn the others! There is mutation here!" Gaius grunted out in a strained voice. He activated his shield's built-in arc-lumin, which shone right into the creature's face. It shrieked and jumped off of Gaius' shield. Gaius backed away slowly, moving towards the camp. He could hear shrieks coming from deeper into the forest, in response to this mutants wailing.
That thread is full of misconceptions about time, and what it really is, according to the leading scientific theories. At least, that's how I'd describe the thread in it's infancy, haven't checked in in a bit.
Gaius shrugged off the interrogator's lack of response. The man was busy exiting the pod to vomit violently outside. After the rather embarrassing spectacle, Gaius left the pod. Outside, the Commissar was barking orders, which was to be expected. Not wanting to spurn the Commissar, but intending to have a look around, Gaius approached her,

"I'm going to survey the immediate area, Commisar. It's likely that some planetary native would have seen our descent. I'll leave it to you to hold down the fort here, and keep the rest of them in check." He paused for a moment, and looked to the eager Ogryn, "Grav, was it? I'd like you to come with me, if the Commissar doesn't have a better use for you. I'm not sure what to expect out here, and scouting alone would be unwise." He removed his rebreather now, confident that he wouldn't be drowning anytime soon.
