I could do with a roleplay with a slow but consistent post rate. I'm more casual than advanced, however.

I'm not great at steampunk, but I like the setting. The Beyond the Horizon idea is really interesting because it seems like the islanders would have different responses to the invaders and the veil being punctured, depending on their character. Are the outside threats bad in varying degrees and diverse / un-unified? It sounds like you have a couple ideas, so I don't want to pry too much. I actually had a concept for an outsider character, but it may not be congruent with your background of the story at all. (Basically: someone who sees the island as a safe haven to escape too, and then wants to kick everyone else out once she's there. Pretty selfish, and not so saint-like. Although this doesn't really work if the punctured veil is a permanent thing, which would mean that the island will never return to its former state.) I think in an original roleplay, it takes some time for everyone to get on the same page for what the world is like, and I certainly don't want to make a character that doesn't fit in with the background.

So, with that I'll say I'm interested in joining up. Is there a lot of magic in this universe? Magic creatures but light magic for humans? Magic more along the line of "magitech" and enchanted stuff?
Just so people who find this roleplay aren't confused... the current roster:

Danny
Annabeth - LaXnyd still with us? CS says WIP.
Killian
Trip
Orion
Arista
Fleur
** last open spot **

Looking good, everyone.

I know you seemingly already have eight, but I wouldn't mind joining if you have a free space.

As of this posting, it looks like we still have one more slot left. So if you're still interested, you should join us over at the OOC linked in Duthguy or Gnar's posts here. ^ ^
By your standards, of course - I suppose the most enjoyable one you've participated in. What factors made it so great? Why was it so memorable? Am I a weird navel-gazer pining over the past?

Five years ago I had the pleasure of roleplaying with a wonderful group of people. Between the eight of us, we had about 13 characters. I still remember every single character because they were so compelling. They were diverse and colorful... Even the people playing "average-guy-next-door" types did a great job bringing them to life, and the scary ones gave me chills. Character interaction always felt alive. It helped that most people's writing style matched my preference for clear prose with minimal meandering. And geez, some people could really write. I loved reading everyone's posts in that roleplay.

I definitely felt like we were all on the same page. Honestly, the story and background was pretty simplistic: it was a Zelda-esque roleplay with basically the same plot as Ocarina of Time. We filled in the world and plot as we went. Our characters' actions had natural consequences and that's how stuff happened. When each component of a roleplay is solid, it's just so excellent. IDK, man. It was good.
Here's to a friendly bump.
I greatly approve of the signature... ;) I'm a fan of Flea myself. You seem to have good taste in avatars, heh. Welcome! I guess you should start by looking at different interest checks in each of the forums and see if anything catches your interest.
Oh wow! The composition in graphics is well done. Kudos to your work.

Damn that's a stupid name. The name reminds me of a MOBA style game I've heard of which can't remember.

Smite?
