Magio looked at Mina, passing his and at his eyes to dry up the tears.
Magio: ... I'm fine. It's only hurting a little. I was heading for the Nurse's Office, but I decided to stay here for a... while.
He got up, but refused to look at her directly. He aimed at the sun, who was already setting.
Magio: Shouldn't you go back to class...? You're going to miss the lecture.
School: Classroom C
Agni: I see... that info will suffice for now, thanks.
Agni returned his attention to Necrox, Lilly and Cookie. The two of them were looking at each other.
Cookie: Necrox... Lilly...
Necrox: Dude... I don't even have words to say. What you did was something that I never expected. At least, not from an angel or from you.
Cookie: ... So you two will condemn me, too? Is that what you're trying to say?
Lilly: Actually, no. Although I'm starting to be against your actual decision, what's done is done. I can't change your mind anyway...

Lilly: Cookie... just don't overdo it. If you ever leave us, I'll never... ever forgive you.
Necrox: That's coming from me as well.

Necrox: And Mokou has the control over the Arena. That's the only thing we know so far.

Cookie took out a round gem from his pocket. It shined a radiant red.
Cookie: Lilly... can you tell me what this is?
Lilly: Is that... Materia?!
Cookie: Oh, so you recognized it.
Agni: Uhh... what is this Materia thing?
Lilly: Special gems that were created using magic. Once equipped in a weapon, an armor or an accessory, they can give the user a magic spell or a technique contained in the Materia.
Cookie: Yes, that's the basic definition. This one, for example, teaches a summon. Of course I don't have only that. Magic tomes, ninjutsu scrolls, songs, sword techniques... I'll be having them here with me

Magio looked at the sun starting to set. The pain and guilt was crossing his mind. Tears started to fall from his eyes as he punched the ground.
Magio: That bastard!! Why is it so difficult to understand?! I don't want that!!
He breathed heavily as he looked upon the sky. Like the scenes he saw on movies, a gentle breeze passed over him.
Magio: Haha... how funny... it's like those scenes... when the good guy who was actually protecting someone fails and then has his frustration moment...
Magio: Still... still... Cookie, you foolish idiot!! Giving your life away for some stupid promise of protecting me until the day I naturally die!!
The breeze carried Magio's tears away with it.
Magio: In the end... it's all my fault. The gods had sent him with the mission of protecting me. That's why I despise the gods... they're all a bunch of snobbish, egotistic... ARRRGH!!!
Magio's punches were actually making a little crater on the ground. He looked back at the sky.
Magio: I... I just want an answer... An answer to give to him... something to make him forget this unreasonable promise...

Seeing Mina go, Cookie shifted his attention back to the class, but he was at a loss of words. All that he planned to teach actually escaped from his mind... and in the condition of things, he wasn't able to lecture anymore.
Cookie: ... I'm sorry, everyone. I actually wanted to keep on with class, but... I just can't. You guys are free to go now.
Instead of the usual screams and their running, the students left quietly from the class, each one going towards somewhere. Cookie sat on his chair and looked down at his table. Lilly, Necrox and Agni approached him, with the intent of comforting him.
Lilly: You did nothing wrong. I assure you, that's just Magio being stubborn.
Cookie: I wish that could be the truth, Lilly... but he's totally right. I took a decision without his consent...
Necrox: I don't think there was any need for Magio's consent on this. This is a mission implied over you, remember?
Cookie: ... Not anymore. What was my mission became a promise. A promise that I did with Magio when he was a child. I totally forgot that he grew up...
Agni: Teacher... I really don't know what's going on between you and Magio, but if there's something we can do for you...
Cookie: ... I... I want to apologize. But I don't know the exact words to say to him. I don't want to hurt him more...
Lilly: Like I said, there's no need for apologies.
Necrox: You're doing your best for everyone. You know that she's wicked and you simply left. There's nothing wrong with that.
