Thanks for letting me know you're interested! I haven't completely worked out the details but I'll try to answer your questions.I sort of imagined the powers of the magicians to be based on the manipulation of reality. Each magician would have a specialty that is unique and complex, but I don't think there are any established branches of magic. Also, every power needs to have a weakness, and a significant one, that keeps the characters a bit more human. As for how they've gained their powers, I'm sort of letting the writer be responsible for the backstory. I mean, at one point in their lives they discover a source of magic in some way and realize that they've got this magic. I think it would be interesting to explore the origin of their powers throughout the story as, though their powers are varied, they all seem to stem from the same place. I want to keep the characters more on the human side than the god-like side. (Think Marvel vs. DC)I hope I've answered your questions, but let me know if you have any suggestions.

Have you ever read the Dresden files? The magic from there is pretty interesting.
Speaking of power, how would the magic work in this rp? What would the limits be, and would there be any categories or branches of magic?
I'm a little confused about the spirit core. What's arcane? Is there a way to use it offensively?
I'm interested
Question: How will the magic work? Do you have any notions as to what kinda of magic will be available or what, if any, sorts of rules will go with it?
I'm really interested in this, but I don't have a character in mind, and I've got a full day of work ahead of me, but I'll try to think up something while I'm there, and hopefully post a CS when I get back.

Glad to see not everyone's dead. Heh.Considering that you haven't read as many of the books or know as much about the universe as some of us, I think a CoGM is a good idea. I'd jump for the position, but I believe that Tearstone probably knows far more than I.Wyld Fae, Skin changers, and Vampires could be interesting ideas for non-human playables, it would certainly provide variety and make this possibly more than just a couple Wardens trying to track down a ThreeEye Ring in regards to further "episodes".I would suggest that for whichever place we use though, we try and get ahold of a decent road map of the actual city. That way distances and times aren't pulled out of thin air and we can actually situate ourselves within a given framework of a world, but that's just an idea.

lol No, I've read most of the books. It's just that I read them all awhile ago, in incorrect order, and don't remember much. The last one I read was Ghost story, and I'm currently on Proven Guilty. So after that one, all I need is cold days and skin games, and I'm up to date, unless you count the comics and Scify series. Anyhow, Does anyone want to put their hands in for the CoGM spot?
Yeah, I was thinking about that too, as far as playable characters, because at the most, I could see maybe two blown Wardens being involved. So maybe we'll have two wardens, one or two ThreeEye(ers,) and a couple other mythical beings. Maybe, aside from the threeEye addict, we'll be a sort of the rings type deal where, for political reasons, different groups sent in a different member to keep secure a certain city.
I'm still not sure about the city yet.

I'd be willing to join and help with this. I've read up through Turn Coat, just haven't had time to read Changes. (Which I understand to be a big book in the series.)Also, if it would help, there is a Dresden table top rpg that might be a good place to look for some ideas.

Yay! Another member. Welcome aboard, Gamer dude.
I got a hold of the Dresden table top Rp, thanks to Tearstone, but I haven't had a chance to look over everything yet.

Well, out of everyone, only two of us own it- that I know of. :| So it's not 100% viable for everyone, which was what we were trying to work around. And I feel like I should point out I've read all the books, side stories, and graphic novels. So I'm pretty knowledgeable about the Dresdenverse. However I am running a few games at the moment, so I'm not going for the CO-GM spot. :\ But I am here for questions and verification.

Thank you for the help. I appreciate the offer, and the assistance :)

So, aside from the stuff in the PDF, which I'll be reading, hopefully sometime over the weekend, does anyone have any ideas, suggestions, advice, concerns that they'd like to add for this?
I've been playing around with this idea for a while now, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in playing it out.
I'm not too big on the details, as far as the universe goes. I know that space travel is possible, and pretty easy at this point, and there's lots of different forms of intelligent life out there. I'm just not sure how the government is, or what kind of factions would be involved.

Colonized zone 1988 - The physical plain in which human beings, and the other habitants of this universe exist.

The Black Sea- The infinite space between universes where all of the reality truly resides. Within this space, all dimensions as well as the massive amounts of various surging energies, exist. Since there are an infinite number of universes, an infinite number of possibilities, life forms, types of energy and matter, exist.

Floaters-Beings capable of interacting with the black sea. The amount of connection each floater has with the sea, varies, but the more prosthetic they have, the weaker their connection grows. Aside from the ability to interact with reality, Floaters also gain a few other abilities like an expanded life span, an ability to recover from almost anything(with enough time) They connect to the Black sea by mentally connecting themselves with the black sea. Basically, their pushing psychic fingers over the waters, and creating waves in reality . There are various methods in which their able to do this. These methods are broken down into four groups: Arts, Manipulations, Tearing, and Symbolics. I might add more later on.

Arts-Skills handed one generation to another after a long period of time. These are usually quick skills or abilities that can be called upon on a moment's notice. These abilities gain their power because of generations of psychic imprints, and are usually stronger, the older they are. It's pretty simple. The more minds believe something will work, the better it'll work, and that's where arts get their edge. Of course, their not all powerful. They tend to be pretty precise in what their doing, and so aren't very versatile. Also, there's no room for error with an Art. If you don't have the exact thoughts in your head, or the perfect body position then either nothing will happen, or the whole thing will blow up in your face. Arts are more draining, physically, than other methods, because the body is used as a conduit for the Black sea's power to flow through.

Manipulation- The ability to change, or alter matters.

Tearing-Forcing holes in the black sea to allow for matters, or energies to come through from other dimensions. The user must be in the proper mindset to bring about the desire substance, and have the right amount of focus, because failure to do so could result in 1. The wrong kind of substance's appearance, the wrong amount, nothing at all, or an explosion of energies.

Symbolics-Bringing about effects through symbolic means This is like voodoo dolls, or tracking spells.

That's what I have so far. There's a lot more to come, but I've got an early full shift tomorrow.
This looks like it has a lot of potential. I'm very interested.
