Marcus has lived for hundreds of years, both on earth and in the dimension humans call "Hell". In reality, Hell is like earth in a way, many different kinds of flora and fauna, even though most of the fauna wish to bring about chaos and destruction to any creatures they find, sometimes even themselves. To keep these creatures known as demons under control and prevent the annihilation of Earth, nine demon lords were created almost half a millennia ago. Each one represented one of the circles of hell, Marcus is one of those Lords. The Lords take on many forms, from apparitions or spirits, to larger and stronger versions of lesser demons, and even some looking near human like he does. he represents the first circle, also known as Limbo to Catholics on earth. He was chosen for this position not only because of him surprisingly human appearance, but also the fact he can speak with the dead, and see their spirits roaming the Earth when other cannot. His sole purpose on Earth is to find any unruly spirits, and make a choice, banish them to the ninth circle, or deem them "Retributed" and move them to the next life. In the current time, he resides in a large, Victorian style mansion on the edge of a forest in northern England. Marcus grew fond of their culture, and their tea no doubt, so what better location to find his permanent home than the gateway to Europe? Throughout the some 1000 years Marcus has been on Earth, he has seen many many places and far away lands. In addition to the places he has seen, he has met incredible people, and even made some companions along the way. These fantastic personalities keep him company over the many years, and each ones story is as complex and mysterious as his own
