@MarsAdept A Paladin Lord is essentially a Star Paladin with more reach. They are given a task thats vague such as "Explore Florida" and then sent on their way. Basically the only member of BoS that would be out in Florida alone without a dead squad on their mind.

I didn't think it would make sense to survive falling off a ship in the middle of a storm during the apocalypse unscathed. Not dead. Not even close actually just unconscious.
