@Quextamon Don't worry about that. Souls games are inspiration, but story is unrelated to them completely.

@Shoryu Hunters are regular humans with no supernatural enhancements, although there will be 2 classes with access to supernatural abilities. There will be no good-guy vampires in the RP, nor dhampirs/half-vampires. Indeed, vampires are somewhat like the guys from Legacy of Kain series. They are all bosses, you'll mostly be fighting their thralls which can be all kinds of freakish monsters.

Through the centuries, the vampires ruled over humans
They were the feudal lords, and humans were their livestock
But, a hundred years ago, humans rose in rebellion against the living-dead
A hero named the Fair Lady led them
With her holy powers and strategical genius, she led humans from one victory to another
Although the Fair Lady paid the ultimate price, humans prevailed
And the vampires ruled mankind no more

But the job that the Fair Lady started had yet to be finished
For although they were defeated, vampires still exist today
Skulking in the dark corners of the world
Hiding away from the centers of the young human civilization
Among humans there are those who hunt them
Members of the holy order of the Sunlight Lance
A group of them has been sent to the uncharted lands of the North to investigate rumours of undead sightings

You are one of them

The main inspiration for this RP is the Souls game series, and like it I plan to be ruthless. Fights will be though and if not careful PCs may die as soon as the first battle (but there are no bonfire revivals here). The focus will also be on combat and exploration and less on character development and story.

The setting for the RP is late-medieval. I won't describe its nations and cultures, players are free to come up with them. The only two things I'll mention is that there is the Holy Church which worships the Fair Lady and the order of the Sunlight Lance is part of it. PCs are members of the order, but because it accepts anyone capable regardless of their past, there will be a lot of freedom for players to create their backstories.

The system will have classes which will determine PC's starting gear and abilities, but otherwise it won't limit their development. Like I said, Souls games are the inspiration ^^. I'll be accepting about 6 players.
@Aphelion Reading your post I imagined how would the sight of Mord in Artorias' armor in the dimly lit area look to someone who just got back from unconsciousness.

I'd be terrified lol.
Yeah, that's how it works. Though they are still in need of repair, so you'll have to go part hunting in the dark :D
Plot armor protected PCs from getting seriously injured, but you are all roughed up.
Mercenaries didn't survive.
As for the wreckage, hunter's ship is completely destroyed while pirate ship is damaged but still retains most of its shape.
@Desire If you are confused I guess I achieved what I wanted kek
And I updated.
TBH, it is a bit shitty, but I'm sleepy and I wanted to get this done. Anyway, the real adventure starts now.

Whoever posts first is also the first to awake (duh), so the second half of the update refers to him.
Preoccupied with the battle that was heating up nobody, neither the pirates nor the hunters, noticed what was happening underneath them, down on the ground. If they stopped for a moment and paid a little heed to the world around them, they'd have heard it, that soft, rumbling sound. However, by the time majority of the crews of both skyships realized, it was already to late. Suddenly, almost without a warning, both skyships found themselves surrounded by two huge, black shapes. It was like they were suddenly put in a valley between two black mountains. Both had numerous spikes protruding from them, each the size of a skyship. For a moment, the only thing that could be seen from the skyships besides the black shapes was a small part of the blue sky above them, and then the darkness enveloped them.

There was a short period of calmness within the abyss, giving an instant to the crews of both ships to process what happened, before a sound of rushing water announced what was coming next. A powerful wave, so strong it tore through the hunter's ship which was first to be hit and destroyed its engines, pushed both skyships downwards. What came next was a spiralling decent into unknown...

DUM

A sound as if a giant drum was struck fills your ears, bringing you back to conciousness. Realizing you are lying on some kind of soft, mushy ground you raise yourself and open your eyes. A sight of a dimly lit area filled with numerous shapes of various sizes greets you as you stumble back on your feet. Due to the weak light the visibility is bad and you have a hard time before you recognize the shapes of bodies. At first glance they all look dead but some of them quickly begin to stir as if to warn you that they are alive. As more and more bodies come back to life you realize that not all of the faces that now appear before you belong to your crew members. Some of your enemies survived as well.

DUM

Here comes that drumming sound again and this time you notice a blue lines appearing in the darkness around you, like circuits. All of the lines were spreading out of a single pale source of light in the distance. Strangely, looking directly at the light doesn't harm your eyes, but you still can't recognize what its source. The only way to find out what was creating it would be to go there.

But first you have to decide on your next course of action as more and more survivors wake up. A sound of a drop falling somewhere reaches your ears.

I guess it's time for me to wrap up this fight before things out of control completely.
