Didn't see this XD. He would have combat training, like all military personel. But he wouldn't use it as much as he would be sitting behind his desk or running around the base to check on patients. He's in shape, though he's just not a guy that goes to the front line. That's my point here, that's also the reason that his rank is Major - he wasn't taken for his combat training - he was taken for his skill with medicine.

Again that doesn't quite matter as far as the desk goes, my character wouldn't be a combatant... No combat, his job was sitting behind a desk. The idea here is for them to be the best of the best in their field, my guy is one of the best of the best doctors.

Well a major would still be somewhat in combat, though to be fair my character isn't a combatant... He's a doctor.

I personally don't see why there is not more people with higher ranks. The characters were described as the best of the best... Also doctors do you have ranks in the army.

What do you need a scientist for? Zombies are a biological phenomenon, my character is a medical doctor... assuming that is, that I'll be accepted.

On the contrary, my character's a doctor and frankly he's not going to be outside often shooting zombies. Also he does carry pistols, though the pistols are in fact silenced so you don't alert zombies, kind of the reason of the sword too.

Alright then, though I imagine you would see more people with swords when you're fighting zombies...
