Act two of the original three is done. It is about 100 pages and 23k words. I'll be merging the first two acts into one and the book will end up being about twice as long as originally projected.

Act 1 of 3 is done. It’s about 100 pages and 23k words and has a prelude, 8 chapters, and an interlude. I’m looking at 100k words as an approximate goal.

What do you mean not necessarily? If you don't describe what you're writing about, your readers won't be able to understand it.
What we're saying is that we like details. Pictures allow us to visualize those details while we read them, b/c the writer added them in, presumingly, because he/she had some sort of visual representation.

I'd actually prefer that pictures are used. I say this because, the way that most people think is in pictures. If you can make what you're trying to convey clearer with pictures, then by all means.
I figured we'd have some sort of helicopter when Mage started talking about his pilot character.
Will there be vehicles of any kind? Besides boats perhaps.
