Act two of the original three is done. It is about 100 pages and 23k words. I'll be merging the first two acts into one and the book will end up being about twice as long as originally projected.

Act 1 of 3 is done. It’s about 100 pages and 23k words and has a prelude, 8 chapters, and an interlude. I’m looking at 100k words as an approximate goal.

Bio

Thrawn: "I have read about the nightswan. Have you?"

Nightswan: "You refer to the fact that it sings only as night is falling?"

Thrawn: "Yes. You do not expect your stand to succeed, do you?"

Nightswan: "I know that it won't succeed."

Thrawn: "That does not necessarily mean the end. I can give orders for you to be taken unharmed."

Nightswan: "They will be ignored. Half the troops here are Batonn Defense and Restos is determined to get rid of me."

Thrawn: "Then come with me now!"

Nightswan: "A man must do what he must, Admiral Thrawn. Even if his stand is against the fall of eternal night."

So I can't pick one now? Or should I let one get away? Sometimea living in the western part of the US is not beneficial.
Aaaaaaaaaand posted *does a little dance*

Edit: At the moment, Melvus smells like blood
As time flowed onward, more and more citizens entered and exited the inn, most of which were likely seeking breakfast. Melvus was no different, most of the reasoning behind him in the inn was breakfast... Well, food in general, really. He hadn't had a real meal for nearly twenty-four hours... He could only take so much.

After he'd taken his seat at the group's table, which he presumed was not intended for that purpose, Hugh, the larger man, called a barmaid over to order food. Not long after that another fellow, by the name... Tobias approached the table and took a seat, not after explaining all of his mischief. The others joked as a nun, Melvus recognized her a sister Agnes, appeared and wished them luck on their quest.

"What about that? Are we going to split ourselves into two groups? We couldn't afford any smaller groups - the beasts will certainly be a difficult opponent... If we split ourselves into two groups we can collect everything much quicker but we risk everyone dying. What will it be?" Most of his question/small rant was directed at the one who referred to herself as Sana.
I got an intro post up. *Stands staight with hands on hips*
The sun was setting on the world as two horses and a small cart, attached to one of the horses, trotted along a dirt road. A roadsign read, "Brogden" then below it, "Population 300".

"Exactly three hundred? Certainly someone was properly bored when they went about surveying? Can't be that perfect... Oh well. That's our next stop, right love?" Roy was on vacation and so, he had a tour guide. More of the guide half than the 'tour' part. Her name was Jenny Oswald, a woman who appeared to be in her forties and clearly was born in this part of the nation.

"Yep. We are gonna head on over thata way see if youse want ta stay there tonight or tryin' make ours way to Rapid." She had a heavy accent, Evans really couldn't understand her efficiently.

"So, we're probably staying in-" he glanced at the sign, "-Brogden?" She nodded. "Right then. Let's get on our way." They were both on horses, that's a relatively important detail not to be overlooked. He squeezed his heels into the horses sides, gently, and they took off trotting along the road. They'd entered the city-limits, it was still a few minutes before they saw the buildings.

"Welcome yerself to Brogden, I reckon the smallest town in Dakota." It appeared as a regular western town would - dirt roads, incredibly angular buildings made of wood, there was probably some tumbleweed hiding in the background. The only real difference between this and the rest of the towns he'd visited, was the size. Roy had no issue seeing the other end of town.

"Well, it is rather late, do you know where I could find a place to sleep, love?" He turned to the woman with him.

"Yer 'ave got to stop callin' me love mister. I knows you're Irish and all, but it just too weird. This way."

"Sorry, but I'm not Irish. I'm British."

"An' I'm not love, am I?"

"Right, apologies." They headed to a building, which looked like the rest of them mind you. They tied their horses outside and Roy entered, not taking notice of anything of interest. There were a few intriguing characters about, but nothing to glance twice at. He rented two rooms for the night. One for him and the other for Miss Oswald. She made her way up to her room, presumably to sleep for the night.

That was about when he saw the man. He was a younger man, younger than roy, at least. He was in his late, no, early twenties and was carrying another man... The other man was leaving a trail of blood behind him. I'd say that it's odd... But, this is America... The soldier took notice of a woman following from behind the first person. Roy decided to find out where they were taking the, presumably, dead man. He left the inn and began to follow from a distance.

Melvus

Out of… well, the ocean arose a huge beast, Melvus wasn’t sure what to think of it save how large it was. It began to glow, he didn’t really hear what the old man had been saying about it, he was too focused on what he had been reading earlier. But now, he didn’t really have a choice but to pay attention, the beast was hit with a bolt of magic, it seemed. Melvus realized that it was from the requip wizard in the party.

“Idiot! You think that they could take it down by using brute force? They would have asked a stronger, more well known, guild to help them. Leave the beast be. Right now, we have to get the villag…” Melvus stopped paying attention, the beast was charging up it’s attack again. The others were preparing to defend the villagers. Melvus had to do something too.

“Dark Ecriture! Wings!” He had taken out his magic quill and wrote the enchantment on himself. He took to the air and flew in-front of the beast. He was only about twenty feet closer to it than the rest were. From it’s mouth came a large blast of energy. “Dark Ecriture! Reflect!” Most of the energy was reflected, but some ambient energies made their way past Melvus as he fell to the ground. That was way too fast… I’m really tired now. I don’t think I’m out of power.. but that took a lot…I only hope that they can stop the rest…

Lucas

“Melvus!” Lucas reached into the deep pockets of his coat. “Open! Gate of the Clock, Horologium!” Around Melvus, materialized the spirit of the clock, he was safe. But now Lucas could only summon one spirit until Horologium went away. He reached back into his pocket. “Open! Gate of the Two Fish! Pisces!” A golden magic circle appeared in front of him as he cut the golden key through the air. From it emerged two huge serpents, they were flying. One of the two was black and the other white and their tails were tied together. “Go Pisces!” Lucas pointed at the large, black, monster which threatened the town. The Two Fish flew toward the monster in their attempt to stop it, or repel it.
