Act two of the original three is done. It is about 100 pages and 23k words. I'll be merging the first two acts into one and the book will end up being about twice as long as originally projected.

Act 1 of 3 is done. It’s about 100 pages and 23k words and has a prelude, 8 chapters, and an interlude. I’m looking at 100k words as an approximate goal.

Bio

Thrawn: "I have read about the nightswan. Have you?"

Nightswan: "You refer to the fact that it sings only as night is falling?"

Thrawn: "Yes. You do not expect your stand to succeed, do you?"

Nightswan: "I know that it won't succeed."

Thrawn: "That does not necessarily mean the end. I can give orders for you to be taken unharmed."

Nightswan: "They will be ignored. Half the troops here are Batonn Defense and Restos is determined to get rid of me."

Thrawn: "Then come with me now!"

Nightswan: "A man must do what he must, Admiral Thrawn. Even if his stand is against the fall of eternal night."

I thought this'd be fun to start. I always love reading through these later. The way you play is simple: post three words to continue a story. There's really just two rules - only post three words and don't double post. I'll start us off.

There once was...

Sorry for the double post.

Apparently if you put >. infront of a line it causes it to be green.

>. Hello

I feel like that shouldn't happen. It applies to the sideways face.

@Zembian Welcome. If you need any tips on RPing or any help with the site just ask.
Heyo and welcome.

That makes more sense, I neglected to read the entire discussion.

True. a few people empowered a little would do a lot. But we still think some sort of system to deal with mass-notification would be very helpful...

Maybe a system that checks whether there are more than say, eight notifications in a single post, it disables the notification parsing for said post? That way, try to ping everyone, nothing happens.

is that feasible code-wise?

If it is, it should be a larger number than eight. I say this because some GMs use the mention feature to get the attention of their players to announce something in the OOC.
So, you've already got a posting order. That slows a game down and provides the easiest way for a game to die: one person fails to post long enough that others lose interest. On top of that slowdown, you're having every single in-character post be verified by yourself before being posted. That essentially stifles the game, makes you an extra source of delay, and can lead to a lot of control issues.

I don't want any part of any of that.

I am the GM, I can decide to ignor the posting order if we need to. On that note, I do not already have a posting order, I have slots for one. If you read the rules you would have noticed this earlier, rule 3 clearly states it. I have no intention of "verifying" each IC post to guage if it is a good post or if it forwards the story, that's up to the player. The purpose for sending it to me first is for any relevant dice roles or judgements on those roles.

If you don't like the idea then please stop posting in my OOC.
I was hoping for a bit of supernatural beyond just a name and lampshading. Combined with rule 7, I'm out.

Sorry to see you go. Though I don't see the issue with rule 7.

@Everyone

Also, as I said - there will be supernatural things occurring within the RP - the idea is to be more like a team investigating a supernatural case, the supernatural part is the part that is suppose to make the case so confusing and difficult. It's not really suppose to be a fast paced action adventure type of RP.
@Melkor
I'm thinking combat-related body modification, either by magic or science.

This world doesn't really contain obtainable "magic". I'd be willing to see a cyborg though, with science that is.
