Bio

I'm an adult (most of the time) so I enjoy mature content and good stories. Most of the time you'll find me in some Sci Fi thing or another but I do sometimes end up in fantasy roleplays and ,in very rare occasions, slice of life stuff. I've dabbled in other sections of the GUild over the years but Casual Sci Fi seems to be my comfort zone. I'm probably the least intimidating person you'll ever meet and I'm always open to suggestions. I look forward to making some great stories with you all!

Technology in this universe is a bit weird and feels like 1990's in space. I'm not really sure how to explain it but here is the wiki page that should answer your question.http://cowboybebop.wikia.com/wiki/Technology
The main reason technology is this way is because of a catastrophe that occurred in the 21st century where the first astral gate exploded and almost shattered the moon which causes constant debris and radiation to fall to Earth. So while the necessity to relocate fueled the advancement of human colonization there wasn't a whole lot of advancement in other areas.
Just so you know I'm going to make the Psi Lab a terrible and debilitating place to be. I really think XCom didn't show enough of that side of things so I want to shed some light on what it might be like.
This sounds interesting, count me in. I eagerly await more details about the story you have in mind and what kind of god given powers we will have.
I prefer Boss Lady if you don't mind

So here is a question for the crew: Where would you prefer to start?

  • On a planet with downtime to relax and interact with each other?

  • On a planet with one or two bounties pending?

  • In orbit with downtime to relax and interact with each other?

  • In orbit with one or two bounties pending?

  • In transit with downtime to relax and interact with each other?

  • In transit with one or two bounties pending?

Sorry about the quiet weekend I had a lot to do elsewhere but anyway let's get on with CS reviews:

Henri Fontaine Delacroix AKA Del by The Wacko Tijuana is one city that spans the area of the dome so they don't really have "warlords" per say but there are plenty of drug rings and gun dealers he could have worked with. Other than that Henri is now a part of the crew on the Blue Jay.

Otakor Stauton AKA Knight by MrShoe An assault rifle is not something you can easily carry around on most of the more "civilized" colonies like Mars or Ganymede so you probably want to invest in a small handgun that can be concealed under a shirt unless Knight would be content with being limited to using just his sword from time to time. In regards to his ship; 11 people seems a bit much so cut the capacity down to six in the hold and two in the cockpit, also keep in mind that Knight will have to pay for the upkeep of the Black Knight so he will always have less money than others in the crew. Other than that welcome to the Blue Jay.

Tamia Michel AKA Tally by Tarantulass Again a rifle is not something you can walk around with most places so it's practical uses would be very limited, although having a drug-addicted prostitute pay for high end black market gear of any kind seems like a stretch even if the gear is faulty it would still cost a considerable amount more than some one could make selling their body. I would need a little more information about how exactly she obtained her gear, I would also like to know what the visor actually does before I accept it.

Jackronicus Hawkfry by Thedreadpirate This one I like a lot but preferences aside, it was never specified if any families lived on Pluto but since this is an alternate universe I suppose it's acceptable. I never really intended for there to be any specific "ship's mechanic" but I'm glad to see that the role will be filled with the added plus of having a tech savvy member of the crew. You will have to explain how exactly he got away with assaulting a government employee and then ended up working in the prison but other than that I welcome you to the crew of the Blue Jay.

Guy Funnuchi by manapool1 This one doesn't seem to fit in anywhere in the solar system. I'm not really sure what planet you're talking about in the history and you didn't give any information about the ship that's mentioned either. If this is unfinished then I apologize for jumping the gun but only the places mentioned in the first post of the OOC are inhabited and no one has ever traveled outside the solar system so there aren't any aliens to speak of. Also take some time to punctuate your sentences please, it makes it a lot easier for dyslexic people like me to follow what you're writing.

I think that's every one who applied but if I missed you let me know, it happens.
Hoshi had spent the majority of the night in the Psi lab for "minor testing and observation". Now that Hoshi was the only surviving Psi Ops Soldier, the Psionic Lab Research team took every available moment to run tests with her. It wasn't like she had a choice, after all, when they volunteer you for Psionic testing it's absolutely mandatory. She was practically the property of the XCom Psionic Lab. So there she sat in a small folding chair with an odd-looking helmet designed to monitor her brainwaves while the research team gave her simple instructions from the other room. "Focus on the object closest to you... Now focus on the object furthest away... Good, now we need you to-" Alarms blared as news of the terror attack came in. A small part of Hoshi thanked Buddha for any reason to get out of that lab but that faded quickly since innocent people's lives were in danger.

Once she made it out of the test chamber she made a dash for the lift to the armory which, after her sprint, seemed to take ages to reach the armory where her gear was waiting. She had gotten mostly into her armor when the quartermaster approached her. He was American and had taken several tours of duty in the middle east before coming to XCom but how did she know that? Never mind, it wasn't important but the look on his face told her exactly what he was going to say. "The rest of your team already came through here so you'd better move your ass!" His voice was stern and Hoshi felt like she was being scolded by her father once again. A brief moment of sadness fell over her as she ran for the hangar with her rifle in one hand and her chest piece and helmet in the other. It was embarrassing to be seen scrambling around like a rookie so when she finally made it she straitened herself out and gave a bow, "Sumimasen... sorry for the delay." At that point she really wished she had managed to put her helmet on before reaching the hangar but now that she was here she took her seat in the Skyranger and started to fix the rest of her gear.
I lost my post so I'm doing again from memory lol

Question: Do you have a design for our spaceship yet? Cause I'm looking up some designs for a personal ship (Like the Swordfish) and I've seen some really kool big ones.

I haven't come up with any specific design but the ship is going to be an older generation ISSP transport that had all the police equipment gutted, kind of like how you can buy old police cruisers now. It should have enough room to accommodate four personal ships. If you run across anything that might fit the bill then let me know.
Fair enough, both links to the OOC should be working as well as the one in this post. Let me know if they get broken for whatever reason.
About the Roleplay itself
For the most part we will be hunting bounties to "pay the rent" but there will be plenty of time for character development since space travel isn't all that fast (aside from using the hyperspace gates of course). Each bounty will be something of a sub-plot so long as it isn't related to the big secret story plot that I have planned, this should make it easy for us to explain short absences with character excuses like "Flash Gordon had jury duty on Mars" or something more sensible.

The majority of our bounties will be for government authorities that issue them publicly so there is always a chance that we might have some competition along the way. Also each of us should be licensed as a Fugitive Recovery Agent with the Inter-Solar Space Police, this gives you the right to collect bounties and not be charged with kidnapping or other crimes potentially committed in the pursuit of a fugitive of the law. Although people will commonly refer to us as "Bounty Hunters" we are legally recognized as Fugitive Recovery Agents. There will occasionally be opportunities for us to go after bounties that aren't publicly issued by the ISSP and it will be up to us to decide if the pay is worth the risk.

About the Blue Jay

The Blue Jay is a retired ISSP cruiser. The majority of it's weapons and equipment were removed, however it still has it's main gun that was converted from the police standard 120mm cannon to a civilian model 80mm cannon (the largest caliber available to the public). For legal reasons the gun must be powered down when in range of any commercial or residential structures and ships. In other words, there will rarely be a chance for us to use it. The Blue Jay is capable of vertical take off and landing from the ground as well as in bodies of water. There are three decks in total. The first deck is the bridge deck which consists of the bridge itself and a small corridor with a door on each side leading the main gun's munitions room and some maintenance shafts. The second deck is the crew deck, it has small rooms for four crewmembers and a larger room for the captain, as well as two restrooms, a kitchen, the rec room, and two holding cells. The third and final deck consists of the rear facing hangar, the engine room which doubles as the maintenance room, and a small storage bay.
