Obsessive- If Question has a case, he’s working on it. If he has the slightest avenue of leads, he will run it down. If he doesn’t he’s not one to wait until someone throws him a bone. He will relentlessly beat his head into the wall until either the wall breaks or his head is mush.
Black and White view of morality- If you’ve done something wrong, you’ve surrendered your protection from the Questions wrath. The methods he uses to get information to those in the black moral territory emulate the harsh methods used by mobsters. At times he himself can be seen as the bully, though he professes that he does these things in the name of justice and the search for the truth.
Conspiracy Theorist- We live in a world assured of the intentions of their governments and the companies that make the products we use. The Question does not. His laborious research indicates connections of various companies, small goods shops and many events city wide that connect them all. The Illuminati, crime syndicates, even supervillains. But to many his speculations seem far-fetched, deranged, even ridiculous.
Unpredictable and Volatile- His line of thinking goes beyond what others consider as the next sensible action. The Question usually is thinking several sensible actions ahead, with the final result being something so ludicrous, anyone else would consider stupid.
Left-Wing Liberal- Disillusioned as to America’s greatness, its hierarchical work structure, and distrustful of all figures of authority, the Question believes in protecting the freedom of the individual person against all who would seek to manipulate or dupe them with lies and misdirection.
On crime he takes a more right-wing stance, putting no limit on the aggressive actions he can take against criminals, often leaving them with cracked bones or even dead. The Questions distrust of institutions extends to the justice system, and he often believes that rather than allowing a rapist to get away on technicalities and the lies of lawyers to simply dole out punishments at his whim.
Biography:
Growing up in the shadow of a Catholic orphanage, Vic Sage’s distrust of authority began several weeks after becoming the red headed punching bag for the bullies of his orphanage. When Vic tried to get the nuns who ran the orphanage on his side he was turned away for slandering what they thought to be star students. Seeing that the nuns would not take him seriously Vic(acting with the expected logic of a child) snuck out to go to a police station. But the only thing he found were fat old men who sat in cubicles, sleeping the night shift away.
Vic was crushed, all the people he had considered his lifelines in the cruel unfair world, were really just an illusion. His child eyes saw he wasn’t being kept safe from harm by these people, they were lying to keep their respected positions. His bully problems persisted and he became alienated from many of his would be friends. His problems would only end once he’d been sent away for boarding high-school.
It was during college that Vic's days of being a reporter came about. It was a way to give voice to people who had none. He picked up the hotter cases around his college, drug cases, parties gone sour, even gang violence, and issues that strike headlines in real world newspapers. Of course most of his articles never got greenlit, simply because they put the college in a bad light. Revolted at this refusal to take justice seriously Vic started an anonymous paper called the Lone Voice. His pieces stirred up a lot of public attention, and colored Hub Cities police and institutions as corrupt and incompetent. A police raid shut down the operation and exposed Vic. His trial only slapped him with a hefty fine and threats that the commissioner would make sure he’d wind up in jail if he tried “any funny stuff” again.
Despite its small scale, Vic's gazette attracted many professional reporting businesses, but no one in Hub City dared pick him up after getting on the bad side of Hub City police. However, there was a publisher who saw Vics no holds barred reporting as an asset. The very aggressive small publication known as The Gotham Vigil offered to pay Vic’s police fine and fund his trip to Gotham if he would sign on with them. Seeing Gotham as an escape from Hub City, Vic gladly took the job by the end of his senior year in college at age 22.
Several years elapsed as Vic establishes himself in Gotham as one of its best reporters. At age 25 that the Question is born. Sage was approached by a scientist named Walace Emhoff. He told Sage about an artificial skin called Pseudoderm, which Emhoff had co-developed with Gregory Twain based on the notes of Gotham criminal Bart Magan and research into Gingold, the chemical responsible for the Elongated Man's powers.
Pseudoderm was intended to work as an applied skin-like bandage with the help of a bonding gas, but had an unforeseen toxicity which was fatal when applied to open wounds. Though Emhoff and Twain agreed to abandon the project and parted ways. Professor Emhoff later discovered that Dr. Twain planned to proceed with an illegal sale of the invention to Third World nations, despite the risk to human health.
Emhoff asked Sage to expose him but Sage, knowing that Emhoff was bribing cops resolved to stop him by taking matters into his own hands. With the help of Dr. Emhoff, Sage dons a Pseudoderm mask and jokingly calls himself “the Question” and hoping Dr, Twain would be the Answer. Cornering Dr. Twain in an alley, The Question extracted a confession that he later broadcasts on television, as Vic Sage. But Vics first forray into vigilantism does not go as smoothly as he’d hoped. The combination of Vic getting first scoop on the story and the Gotham cops getting lucky on DNA evidence brings suspicion over Vic who is charged with assault, but is later acquitted through the help of a brilliant lawyer. Vics lack of caution got him dropped from The Vigil, but he had made a far more valuable ally when he’d met Dr. Emhoff.
A great deal of The Questions adventures happen during this period of time. His gadgets become more sophisticated, his network of contacts deepened, but his mental state worsened. Perhaps it was because he’d constantly rubbed elbows with the worlds most unsavory criminals, or the strain of living a double life, but in any case, Vic started to slide more and more into the identity of the Question, and his reporting has become more sporadic. These days Vic is more accustomed to fighting street crime than uncovering great conspiracies. He’s not made friends with the Law, and his extreme methods have brought him under the same scrutiny as many of the other villains around Gotham.

-Observant, meaningless or mundane facts offer The Question a wealth of information
-Able to create weapons on the fly out of the most mundane objects

A simple assessment of a structure can clue the Question into where armed gunmen or thugs would best be lying in wait.
Tremendous blending ability-
Through altering the way he walks or simple adjustments to his clothes, Question can appear almost entirely different at first glance.
Expert at computer hacking-
Being anonymous in the digital age requires a deep knowledge of how technology can be used against oneself. That's why the Question has mastered hacking into commercial databases, falsifying records, finding information on a computer that others don’t wish to be found.
Martial arts training and street fighting experience-
Though by no means a top fighter, three or fewer thugs are no problem for the Question to take down.
Expert at Intimidation and fear tactics-
Word of mouth is still the best way of getting information about crime syndicates, gangs, mobsters, and bounty hunters. Pleasant words don’t get information, so to get an omelet, the Question usually cracks a few eggs.
Iron Will-

Intuition- The Question can que in to a multitude of small variations in Gotham cities general mood and worries. This is chiefly achieved through eavesdropping, trash digging, and people watching (physically or through accessing city cameras)

Pseudoderm mask- Looks and feels like skin, seems almost like a featureless face.
Pocket sized aerosol that when used in conjunction with his pseudoderm mask will cause it to bind on the skin for such a tight fit its almost impossible to remove. Due to a special gel in the questions hair, it also changes his hair color.
Overcoat with threading that changes color from a beige color to blue in response to the special aerosol the Question carries.
Small millimeter handgun with 6 bullets(Only used in dire situations)
Switchblade
Camera(occasionally carried for spy work)
Grappling hook- A great deal of Batmans old gear can be found lost or discarded after various battles. Much of that gear trickles down into the black market, where minor criminals buy them as souvenirs. This re-fitted and repaired grappling hook was one such item which the Question lifted from one of his investigations. The hook makes for easier access to some of Gothams restricted or otherwise secluded areas.
Chemical paper that releases gas in the form of a question mark when brought into contact with human skin. Purely Decorative.
Please keep in mind that I’m not trying to take a carbon copy of the Question from the latest comics/from the most widely viewed work in which the Question is featured in. I’m taking the image, parts of the lore, related works and making the character be my own. It’s true that I could have easily explained away the differences by saying its one of his proteges or someone working under his name, but that's like drinking generic brand cola. We ALL know its trying to be coca-cola, and the renaming is legal issues. But thats not an issue here, so I might as well use the name and look.

I was thinking of the JLU version myself, he seemed willing to go down the dark road when no one else wanted to. He was about to strangle Lex Luthor with a tie, very Rorscarchesque. I haven't picked up anything from his own comics, and i won't be bringing any of the zen or mysticism/his relation with lady shiva.
