Larel demanded Alari return his clothing to him which Alari complied with as his reason for holding them was now gone. Gaining control of his shadows again Larel checked for his sword and sure enough he could pull it out. Due to the crowd he kept it within his shadow, he didn't want to hold it as he might unconsciously respond if he bumped into someone. Alari watched Hotaru and the others leave and with a sigh called Kaori and followed behind Larel who made his way back to the inn.
Once they returned Larel quickly returned back to his normal attire, it took longer than he wanted to get all his hidden weapons back on his person, even Alari had returned back to his old Kimono. Alari informed Kaori that he was still repairing his kimono so he'd have to wait a bit longer to change back, Kaori didn't seem to mind the idea though.
Alari closed his eyes as Larel adjusted his sword and checked over everything once more, Kaori watched Alari and arched a brow when Alari's eyes suddenly opened wide and flashed red.
"Is something wrong Oji-san?" Kaori asked.
"....I'm...not sure," Alari said. "I just...have a bad feeling."
"A bad feeling?" Larel questioned turning to face him.
He had a rude remark but seeing the look in Alari's eyes he realized he was actually serious about it, crossing his arms he wondered how to respond to him thankfully Kaori spoke first.
"Did you sense something?"
"Yes and no...I felt a...weird echo..."
"What do you mean?"
"It felt familiar...too familiar. It's not the echo I know but I feel like it's the same source. Anyway it's just a feeling with all the people it got overshadowed by the other echo's."
Alari stood up and looked over at Kaori as Larel tilted his head, Alari suddenly seemed in a rush.
"Kaori let's find Mary, her senses will be able to pick up what I can't. It's just a feeling but it wouldn't hurt to double check."
"Okay Oji-san," Kaori said standing up.
"Larel why don't you find Mera and Hotaru, there's no reason to linger here anymore."
"I don't need you to tell me that," Larel said before hopping out of the window.
Alari knelt down and let Kaori climb on his back before leaping out after Larel, the two dashed off in two different directions, Alari towards the edge of town and Larel to search the town for the two. Larel was going to have to depend on Zenmaru for this one, Alari on the other hand followed Mary's echo the best he could.
Kaori gripped Alari's kimono tightly as he jumped onto a roof, he closed one eye and leaning forward spoke to Alari as he kept his attention forward moving from rooftop to rooftop.
"Why are we hurrying Oji-san."
".....that presence..." Alari mumbled to himself causing Kaori to tilt his head at him.
It reminded him of Sybil....but it wasn't her...it seemed....he didn't know how to put it other than worse. Even among all the people here that presence stood out and that's what bothered him, he needed to find Mary soon whatever that was it can't be good.
Ouch I suppose thanks for your hard work is appropriate. It's quite alright I've had days when I've had to take care of business, next week I may slow down due to potential assignments. I'm not sure what they are but I saw journals, quizzes, tests so I'll more than likely be getting very busy soon. Punctuation is always fun the semi-colon was my mortal enemy for most of that time....ah and comma's....fragment sentences too...hm...good luck with that.
Alari chuckled a little hearing Mera's mumbled comment, he shook his head as a response, Larel didn't realize it and that's one of the things he liked about him. His straightforwardness didn't make him a very good ninja in certain aspects but he enjoyed getting to see Larel speak openly once again, he wouldn't say it out loud but he and Kaori had a habit of speaking without thinking about what they were saying, Larel just saw things differently and had some tact.
Alari looked over at Mera smiling a little when she responded to him, he supposed he inadvertently had taken some time off himself, this kind of peace was nice, he couldn't help but smile getting to see a little of it once more. Peaceful moments like this reminded him of his time in the village with Haruka and everyone else, it was a shame things weren't always be like this.
With Mera next to him, Larel and Hotaru nearby and everyone else next to him Alari couldn't deny he was happy to be here.
Hearing Mera mention never dressing that way again Alari smiled and turned back to the fireworks.
"A part of me is relieved but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed," he whispered to her.
Larel only pulled his attention away from the fireworks when Hotaru spoke to him, he grinned hearing her and nodded turning his attention back to the fireworks.
"Without a doubt," Larel said before grinning. "Anytime Hotaru don't expect me to hold back next time though."
He chuckled as it was fun to joke around like this, however his smile faded and he shivered as Mary's voice hit him, he promptly turned forward again finding it easier to stand near her when he didn't have to look at her, though he could still sense her presence causing him to let out an nervous chuckle.

Kaori on the other hand was ecstatic to see Mary again and grinned seeing she made it to the fireworks, he went to speak to her but seeing the expression her face he went silent blinking and watching her face for awhile, he however turned his attention to the fireworks and pretended not to see it as he was sure it wasn't something she wanted to share. He was sure Mary had things on her mind as well like everyone else did, he didn't always understand the complex things but he was happy to see everyone smiling. Kaori closed his eyes before looking back at the fireworks his eyes drooping a little as he crossed his arms.
He looked over at Mary when she spoke to him and gave a firm nod before pointing at the cracked fish jar in his hand.
"I had a great time, Larel even gave me a gift," Kaori said. "I danced with everyone played a few games and even got to paint a few people as well, I had a wonderful time Mary-chan. I hope you had a wonderful time too what did you do?"
Larel leaned forward a little as the fireworks grew extremely large before the fireworks came to a stop and Larel pouted a little. He smiled shortly after glad to have the memory now, he let out a relieved sigh but covered his mouth shortly after as his eyes flashed yellow. Larel's whole body shivered and he lowered his hand from his mouth as pain coursed through his body. Alari glanced over at him seeing this and with some hesitation released Mera's hand before walking over to him.
"Take a breath Larel," Alari said as he put his finger close to his head and started working the seal. "I've got you."
"What's wrong Oji-san," Kaori said looking over at Alari.
"I have to bring Zenmaru back," Alari said sighing. "Much as I would love to keep her down the two coexist in the same body, I have to bring her back or it can hurt Larel. It's much sooner than it should have been, she must really have been fighting."
"...Alari," Larel said looking up at him.
"Hm?" Alari said keeping his attention on his forehead.
"Um...t...thank you."
Alari's eyes widened hearing Larel's words and he almost lost his focus for a moment but he forced a stoic face and responded to him.
"Don't worry about it," Alari said.
"No...really...thank you for-"
Larel cut himself off as the seal fully reappeared before vanishing once again causing Alari to lower his hand.
Reaching up Larel rubbed his head and closed his eyes as his shadow seemed to flare for a moment, a small grin formed on the shadow's face before vanishing as quickly as it came.
"Why are you standing so close," Larel said opening his eyes glaring at Alari.
"Right," Alari said putting his glasses back on. "That's what I'm used too."
That answered many questions I'm glad I lingered. Looking forward to hearing more.
Oh your alright I went out of town anyway so I couldn't respond, post whenever you're able to.
It's an exaggeration and he didn't really beat her more like survived against her as she jumped back up without much effort.

Ravenxvoid just submit a profile and see what happens. Take a shot in the dark.
The backstory has been changed, if it still doesn't fit let me know I'll rewrite it as many times as necessary.
Oh also when the time comes with a familiar should I edit it and add it to my profile when Naru acquires one.
Hmm if it's just the backstory I can edit it, I went through about four before settling on this one. I'll get too altering it. Just let me know if anything else doesn't fit.
Valid point saying it's a competition would be an understatement, no worries about the post there was more than enough for me to work with. I just finished posting before I came here, seeing that happy moment ruined it's going to certainly be something.
Alari was all smiles until Mera mentioned he wasn't too far off from his embrace, hearing that Alari's head drooped as a sudden depression hit him all at once. He worried he might actually tear up at the loss of the possibility but he did agree that death would not come quickly even if he had earned it anyway.
He raised his head as Mera continued speaking before smiling when she thanked him. There was many things Alari did without and thanks was among them, not that he wanted any but hearing it still made him really happy, of course he wouldn't say that he enjoyed it out loud, he did want to hear it again someday. When she looked at her wrists he looked at the cuffs and looked at his sleeve where he held the key, Mary had told him not to remove them in the first place so she would probably be content but a part of him worried he might have taken them off anyway. He hoped wherever she was that she'd be able to see the fireworks when they start, it'd be a shame to miss them.
He lowered his sleeve when Mera looked back at the sky, the words that followed brought a warm feeling to his chest causing him to reach up and grip it for a moment.
"I await the day it's under different circumstances," Alari said smiling at her. "You should do what your heart tells you, do what you feel is right Mera, who knows you might get away with it."
Alari grinned and looked up at the sky running a hand through his hair as the preparation seemed to be finishing up.
"Not many thank me for my insistence I'm more than happy to continue."

Larel glanced over at Hotaru when she spoke before letting out a small sigh as she mentioned the prizes, he smiled however when she mentioned returning the favor, he waved his hand in front of his face indicating it was alright.
"I didn't want to owe Alari so I got him something, I can deal with getting him a horrid gift, I can't deal with owing him a favor. Kaori would have just whined if I got Alari something and ignored him," Larel said shrugging.
"Hey!" Kaori said.
"Well you would have," Larel said not looking back at him.
"That's beside the point, you're mean La-chan."
"Never...call me that again if you want to continue resembling a living thing."
When Eryn spoke to him he looked over at Hotaru taking in her appearance again before turning back towards the sky, since Eryn brought attention to it he found it difficult to look now. A slight blush formed on his cheeks but he said nothing for awhile as the two spoke, smiling a little when Eryn said brute which Kaori nodded to agreeing wholeheartedly probably because he was out of swinging distance.
When Eryn spoke again Larel brought his hand to his chin before looking over at Hotaru then at Mera then back to Hotaru.
"I don't see any real change in Mera-sama but if this is your handiwork Eryn I'll admit I was taken aback for a moment but you just made Hotaru prettier right? I don't know how to respond to your inquiry I'm sorry. Also I don't think Hotaru's a brute, she just expresses herself differently."
Kaori jaw had dropped at Larel's words and he had to speak up after hearing that.
"How can you say Mera-dono hasn't changed Larel, that's almost an insult," Kaori said. "Also I wouldn't mind living in your world for a day Larel, if Taru-chan's actions are 'expressions' to you."
"Be nice Kaori we talked about insulting Hotaru and don't mind the comment about Mera," Alari said glancing back at him. "Larel has his master vision on, when it's on he only sees his master, any other characteristic is unnecessary."
"I feel like that's an insult," Larel said glaring at him. "You just insulted me didn't you."
"Nope just a fact, it's a shame because she really looks beautiful tonight," Alari said looking forward again.
"Don't push it Alari," Larel said closing his hand into a fist. "I should-"
"Look!" Kaori pointed towards the sky before a loud bang followed.
Larel quickly turned forward as bright colors lit up the night sky exploding outwards and filling the area with continuous light as the colors lingered in the sky only to be followed by others. The flash of lights in the night sky drew Larel's full attention, he stared wide-eyed at the myriad of colors in front of him his mouth hung agape as the fireworks came one after the other. Alari smiled and glancing over noticed the look of pure astonishment on Larel's face, it was the first time Larel had ever seen them like this, Larel stunned face slowly turned into a wide smile causing Alari to chuckle.
"It's all worth it just to see you that happy," Alari said looking back towards the sky. "No matter how many times I see it they're always wonderful."
Kaori watched with almost childlike innocence waving his hands as the fireworks continued to fill the night sky, Jin popped out of Alari's kimono and stood on his shoulder yipping at the fireworks.
Alari slowly reached over and took Mera's hand in his own keeping his attention on the fireworks, a small blush formed on his cheeks as a small smile formed on his face.
"I had a plan b," Alari said looking over at Mera smiling a little. "Just kidding."
Alari looked back at the fireworks as Larel gaze was trapped on the display in front of him, a look of pure astonishment on his face.
