Shu didn’t think Takeshi was ever going to understand what he was trying to say, nobody seemed to even when he tried. He did get a little flustered and lost his better ability to speak, but he didn’t want his point to get lost when he did try to talk. Nobody was going to take him seriously, he was just going to get continuously spoken down to like he was a child. Nobody really understood what he was going through, but it wasn’t as if he would ever be able to speak clearly so they might understand. He was very different compared to others and he didn’t know what to do or what could be done about it. He was a coward because he was afraid of what he was and that was it, everybody else was fine with going in and attacking.

Sighing, Shu glanced up at Takeshi before looking away again, frowning as Takeshi continued to try and reassure him that he was anything but bad. There was no way to help him, he couldn’t help but get mad sometimes nor did they know what it even was that he changed into. “Nobody knows how to help me! Nobody knows what it is, what I am…I don’t know…” he spoke, pulling the covers up to his chin some more. “How do you fix something like that…? Nobody knows. It’s not going to be fixed…it’s just a big problem. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do now…I just don’t know. Nothing will help. I just don’t get angry, that all. Then…other things…I don’t know. I don’t know what’s wrong with me…”

Viral stared at Vegeta before looking back to the wall, slowly laying bricks down. He really had no clue about June, even though he was supposed to. She was just another person to him that he had some hidden memories about, the familiarity still managing to come forward and spring to his mind. He didn’t know how to act around her, even after finding out about his origins. He didn’t see himself as family even after all that, considering what he was supposed to be. “She could hate my existence for all anyone knows, I suppose. I wasn’t planned beyond blueprints and experimentations and who knows how much Aito could influence someone. It’s all a mystery to me”. Maybe it was because of how different he was or how his circumstances turned out, he was still confident he wasn’t going to fit in quite how they wanted him to beyond words. “Hmm, we’re supposed to be doing this until I’m too tired to continue…or when you’re too tired to continue watching me. Who knows if I’ll get tired before you or whether I’ll feel like I’m constantly running on caffeine. Maybe all this will just make me act crazy high because this is the most work I’ve done in a very long time”.
Shu was rather nervous after all of that and knew that the nurses were just trying to be nice, but Takeshi was always determined to be the bigger man and refuse help when offered. He didn’t mind what the nurses were doing and was quite happy to receive help when he needed it. Frowning when Takeshi stopped he sighed lightly, shaking his head. He didn’t agree to any of that, it just made Takeshi sound silly. “That is all…really confusing to me”, he sighed looking to the floor, “It sounds silly to me…I mean, Mister Viral wasn’t taken for us to be here in hospital. Shu was too scared! Too scared to fight Father! Friends getting helped make Shu feel better and knowing nurse get hurt when they try to help…Shu feel really bad…”

Coming back to his room he watched his bed as he was placed down onto it, letting go of Takeshi once he was able to comfortably get down. He was feeling rather terrible already after all that, feeling like he was to blame for all of this. Looking to Takeshi as he only furthered his own belief he slowly moved around to his pillow, climbing under the covers and curled up underneath them with a sigh. Takeshi was always too focused on himself and being the hero and he definitely thought of it as some sort of game he was constantly losing, making him feel helpless. Looking to Takeshi as he reached over to him he squeaked when he placed a hand on his head, slowly looking up to him with a frown. “But…I don’t see why you to blame for me. I did bad! I did bad and no did good like help friends. No do good things, but hurt friends! I become bad monkey! I hurt you! Maybe win if not me…been bad monkey…”

Viral stared at Vegeta before looking to the brick, frowning slightly before letting out a sigh with a shrug. If he was going to justify it some more then he was going to let him go ahead with it. He definitely didn’t give himself enough credit if he got all upset over being called a perfectionist all while trying to say he was something else that was almost just a confession. He would get angry if everything wasn’t working ideally and Vegeta would still deny he was a perfectionist. Watching Vegeta stand and stretch he shrugged lightly, taking a few bricks and laying them down. They really weren’t that different even if Vegeta tried to make comparisons, but Vegeta certainly was a little selfish compared to what he’d seen of Aito so far. “Yeah, I’ve seen how selfish you can be. You showed a lot of that when you were growing up so there’s no denying that. You two share a lot of traits and interests together. Don’t know about your mother, though. Don’t remember anything about her to give any fair comparisons”.
Cecil didn’t understand, simply finding it curious that they won’t save themselves even after all they’ve been through. He was certain they would rather carry on since they couldn’t find a solution, but it seemed there was no way to convince them when both of them were saying they would never do that. He didn’t know whether this was normal behaviour for the living or if it was just these two. He was just a machine, they didn’t need to care that much about his wellbeing. He was going to endanger them and that was completely unacceptable in his eyes.

The search was proving completely unsuccessful, there was no way they were going to find a mechanic that might know how to recharge him. As Ethan only grew tired of carrying him around he raised his head only a little as he was placed on the bench, still running in energy conservation mode. He was fairly weak and could barely move himself, only raising his head to look at Ethan as he groaned in pain. He felt guilty that he couldn’t do much to prevent that, even if it wasn’t entirely his fault. Finding it hard to believe it was possible to find somebody here he only looked away from Ethan when he heard someone call out ‘Machina’, his eyes immediately searching for the source. Eventually the source appeared and no sooner was the man staring at him, a lazy stare giving barely a reaction to him.

Who was this man? He was quick to call him out as a Machina and even with Ethan’s attempt to mask the truth the man was even quicker to approach him for an examination. Staring at the man with tired eyes he listened as the man spoke fairly clearly what knowledge he had of him, even taking hold of his arm and examining it, questioning his purpose of design. The man wasn’t authorised to know what his systems were but even if he could tell he was finding it hard to speak to the man. He didn’t want to deplete his energy further by telling the man to leave off. Whoever this guy was he didn’t sound like someone who would want to see him deactivated, maybe this was the man they were trying to find after all this time.

How strange that the man they were trying to find would find them instead and what was even better was he was not scared of what he was. Staring at the man, he twitched when the man pulled out a strange device, almost as if he thought it was a weapon at first. This was so strange, he had never come across a friendly man before who was an expert of his inner workings. He felt nervous but also quite happy that he was going to get fixed up with some energy as well as an inspection. He hadn’t been seen to in many months and with all the problems he had increasing as time went on he was fine with getting an inspection. Unable to think of a reasonable explanation to decline this man’s help he looked to Ethan, hoping he would be okay with carrying him just a little bit more so he could get fixed up.
Shu sighed lightly, not minding the notion to relax for a little bit. Now that he knew most of his friends were alright, he was a little happier. He still had his own concerns regarding himself and what he was supposed to do about his own problems, but he didn’t want to go into that too much. He was supposed to be brave and grown up, not moaning about himself all the time and making everybody else feel down. He was hurting a lot and felt he needed rest, even if he hated sleeping. He wanted to relax and finally find a way to be happy whenever he woke up, not having to be driven into a panic whenever he got up. To find comfort in others was all he could really do, but with everyone running on negativity he really didn’t know how that might be possible.

Looking between Takeshi and Yumi as they became quick to start up a fuss, he frowned and sunk his head down below his shoulders. He was holding onto Takeshi but he agreed with Yumi, thinking Takeshi should’ve just accepted the free time to rest up rather than making a whole bunch of people feel bad about trying to do their job. It made him feel a little sad that the issue needed arguing over and a little like he was on the wrong side of the argument to begin with. Looking between the pair he squeaked when Takeshi decided to take his leave, his eyes going to Yumi before gasping as the door was slammed. Feeling all sorts of alert and scared, Shu slowly looked back to Takeshi, speaking softly. “U-Ummm…nurses just want to be nice. I thought it was what they like doing. They like helping people, just…not using fighting to do helpful stuff, right? They want to help people…”

Viral wasn’t purposely trying to make Vegeta angry by saying all sorts of things about his personality, things just sort of happened that ended up being fairly true. It was true that Vegeta tried to be perfect at everything and made sure absolutely everything was set, even if someone else had done so before him. Even his attempt to straighten out the bricks if they were the tiniest fraction off was something that satisfied him, but leaving it meant he would become frustrated and probably angered. Viral didn’t see anything wrong with his work until Vegeta made a correction in it, watching as the made sure the bricks were completely flush before carrying on with what he was supposed to be doing. “Just wait until I carry on with this pattern, then you’ll be feeling the pain”. Continuing to lay the bricks down he did make a glance to Vegeta who was desperately trying to make excuses for his attitude, sighing lightly before shaking his head. “You act like it’s a negative thing. Since when has being a perfectionist been a negative thing?” he questioned him, waving a brick around before laying it down on the wall, “Just means things won’t get destroyed or damaged as easily if it’s perfect. No big deal. So you’re a perfectionist! Probably get it from your father too. You two are hardly different…”
Cecil really needed to find some way to recharge his battery if he was to continue on normally without becoming a burden to them, knowing that the man could recover at any time and be right on his way to try and find them. He didn’t know who the man was or what he was helping his friends from, but it was definitely a matter of urgency that he’d try out his own weaponry without killing the man. He wasn’t entirely sure what he did or how he did it, all he knew was he had been helpful and managed to get them out alive. Resting his body against Ethan he did try to make it easier on him by having his arms moving at an equilibrium as to not throw him completely off balance.

Cecil remained quiet in his powered down state as Ethan took him up the hill, his eyes only opening when they finally reached the top. He wanted to see what the place looked like, how the town was and whether there was anything that would make him want to remember this place. He still had energy to store information and when it was something like a town. He was fascinated by settlements, even if his last experience with one was largely negative. He didn’t hold it against them that he was like that, he didn’t mean to cause any harm. Staring over his Ethan’s shoulder he watched the people up ahead, wondering just why they decided to live up on a hill like this. Maybe they were afraid of what was down below and needed some way to view up high and see where everything was.

Now probably wasn’t a great time to be thinking, instead he had to be conserving energy and hoping thinking wasn’t going to end up having him completely drained. He was already having a hard time speaking so thinking wasn’t going to help whatsoever. While he didn’t know what they might do now, it was probably still worth having a look around and trying to see if there was any sign of someone who might be able to help him, someone who might know how to fix Machina who were drained. There was probably going to be the problem of someone else knowing he was a Machina. People didn’t appear very friendly concerning Machina, they seemed to get scared and retaliate with violence and threatening his life.

Keeping quiet whenever Ethan spoke to other people he only stared tiredly whenever they were questioned, frowning when the possibilities were only shattered when they denied any possible knowledge they might hold for Machina. It was all turning out to be full of dead ends, one after another. Feeling a little down he closed his eyes momentarily, hearing Ethan pull all sorts of questions out in their confusion before he decided to speak up. “If you c-c-can’t find a place, just-t-t go on without m-m-me”, he spoke, his speech stuttering with his weakening power cell, “You n-n-need to escape”.
Shu was terrified and quite happy to finally understand that Takeshi certainly didn’t leave him. He was always scared that he would be left alone so he had a good reason to be worried. If he was left on his own he wouldn’t know what to do with himself, even if he had his other friends around him. They weren’t family, they wouldn’t know how to make him feel better completely or what he enjoyed doing, not completely at least. He was always going to struggle being by himself, especially when he had all these problems on his shoulders to try and carry along with him. He needed Takeshi, even though Takeshi probably didn’t feel the same way. “Can help too…? How do the helping? We nearly been to all the rooms…” he spoke, looking down for a moment before back to Takeshi who was proceeding to get up himself. Staring at him, he took hold of him when he picked him up too, frowning at his body language. He knew what he had done, he knew the cause of it. “They be nice…yeah, they be nice. Nobody wants me to do things I don’t want to do. But you were mean to them, people said. They give help, they care…”

Viral let out a grunt at Vegeta’s stance, finding it somewhat amusing that he’d try to defend himself. There was no way he wasn’t the most focused guy out there, especially when his entire job required him to be super-focused; however, that didn’t mean he had to take that trait of his everywhere with him. Waiting for Vegeta to lay the mortar down correctly he pressed a brick down, seeing if he could align it correctly before his eyes went to Vegeta. It was also funny how much he’d try to deny how much he enjoyed having absolutely everything correct and when it wasn’t correct, how he’d go into a fit. Staring at him as he lay down another brick he watched as Vegeta aligned them properly, almost as if he was just now realising what he was. Smirking a little, he took a few more bricks and planted them down casually. “Compared to you, I might as well be an ape…even if you already are part space-ape. Having me on mortar would drive you crazy”, he spoke, looking down again to see Vegeta already fixing his bricks, “…Then again, am I already heading down the road to causing you great discomfort”.
Shu was happy to see Takeshi in a way like a kid finding their parents again. He was scared that he really hurt Takeshi and that he wasn’t going to want to see him again after that, but thankfully that didn’t appear to be the case. Trying to get on his feet he ended up simply crawling over to him, hoping maybe he was wrong about him being in a mood and not wanting to be around him much anymore. Shu just wanted to know himself why Takeshi decided to go away like that and what it was worth for him to run out like that. Crawling on over desperately Shu made one final leap to get to Takeshi, falling into him with a squeak. He was worried he wasn’t going to want to be around him anymore, but maybe this was a sign of hope for him even though this was Haku’s room. “Ooohhh…I was scared and hurt and scared and afraid!” he squeaked, raising his shoulders a little, “I feel terrible…b-but Miss Yumi try and make me feel better. She carry me and cuddle me…take me around to help me feel better…”

Viral didn’t have much of a care as to how the bricks were set or whether everything was cleaned up so he probably wasn’t the best one for the job of laying the mortar. It was one of those things someone else probably would be better off doing in case he laid down too much or too little. Vegeta would probably do it better than he did considering the guy loved to be perfect with a lot of things and this probably being one of them. Looking off to the aliens before back at the bricks he sighed lightly, looking to Vegeta when he made the suggestion that he’d do the mortar. “Plus I know you like everything to be precise and perfect, right? Seems like the perfect job for you”, he spoke as he moved around and picked up a few bricks, inspecting them briefly before looking to Vegeta again, “They would rather a perfectionist made their walls look clean than an animal tossing dirt. I’m fine with laying the bricks down, just make sure you don’t get all obsessive over this as well. You get annoying when you become a perfectionist”.
Shu was trying to be positive about it but he really didn’t know if he was going to last through all this by himself. He was scared he might end up turning into Viral in attitude which seemed horrible. If he could just try and get rid of the nightmares himself by trying to not think about it he would be so much happier, but he didn’t know how to go about doing that when he had such a terrible time sleeping by himself. If he wasn’t going to be a problem for everyone else then he would have to try and conquer his own fears, even if they were all in his head and almost constantly being thought about. Sniffling as he scratched his nose with his tail he looked up to Yumi, sighing lightly. “Even if I don’t do anything…? I mean, I try to, but things never go right with me. I just do bad things when I try…even if you told me not to think of the bad…”

Shu felt he was maybe being a little hard on himself, but it felt like the truth. He really hadn’t done much that could be considered helpful to others, instead he coward away and tried to kill the others when he got out of control. Trying hard to find the happiness again despite his current thoughts he looked to Haku who talked to him as well, staring at him as he tried to help with his mood. He didn’t like the thought that him being sad was bringing everyone else down, even if what he was saying was kind of him even when he didn’t appear to like him very much. “You think so? Ooh, I no think-…I don’t know. I don’t mean to focus on the bad! I don’t mean to…it’s just hard…” Gasping, Shu looked up when he heard Takeshi’s voice, seeing him at the door. Staring at him for a moment he soon jumped off Yumi’s lap, squeaking as he fell on his front before crawling towards Takeshi, still not finding it too easy to walk upright. “Where go?? Where?”

Viral probably didn’t have the correct expertise to figure out how to do this whole brick-laying business, but maybe Vegeta knew something; however, it wasn’t as if he ever saw him have anything to do with construction at any point in his adult life. He didn’t want to endanger anybody by doing something incorrectly which was entirely possible to do. Seeing Vegeta hesitate a little when attempting to explain the art of brick-laying he frowned, staring at him questionably before looking to the other workers. A good few of them were using machinery to move everything around and get everything done quicker, but they were also smaller and weaker than they were so hopefully that meant he’d be able to stay away from the machines just incase he had flashbacks or whatever. Looking back to Vegeta who decided to reassure his own method by trying it himself, watching him as he slowly tried to make it work out. Seems he did it alright and it definitely didn’t look too hard if a bit messy while requiring everything to be flush. “Hmph, looks pretty precise. Don’t you have to clean around the edges too? Are you just copying the other aliens?”
Shu sighed lightly, shaking his head. “It just all in the head! All head stuff and bad that way, just not think about it, right…?” He really didn’t know how to make the nightmares go away but he was pretty sure he could try by trying to not think about the stuff he went through and how horrible his father was to him. It may be hard to shake off a memory but he was still going to try if it meant he wasn’t going to interrupt others with his problems and maybe not have people worry over him so much. He didn’t want to have all this friends worrying over him all the time, he wanted them to be happy with him even if he wasn’t completely happy himself. Looking to Yumi as she moved him over onto her lap he stared up at her, his eyes soon going down to her hands as she held his as he frowned, nodding. “I didn’t mean to scare…but I do that a lot”, he sighed, giving a nod, “I hope you’re right, though. I mean…I don’t even know why I’m such a bother. Always trouble! Bad things happen! No want bad things!”

Viral was about having enough of Vegeta, but he could tolerate him for a little while longer if it meant he was going to get something done with his illness. He hated being ill and just wanted to get back into fighting, even if it meant he was going to be weak. If he would die because of his weakness then so be it, seeing how it was his own fault that he had gotten into this state in the first place. If he wasn’t so stupid in the past he would’ve been fine, but he made a lot of mistakes that lead to his body being unable to take it anymore. Frowning at Vegeta’s confidence he simply sighed and shook his head, not agreeing with how passive it could be. “So long as you try and not simply say that to make me feel better”. He knew he was fully capable of hurting a random citizen even if he didn’t feel anything towards them, just if they irritated him in the slightest. He hadn’t been around a large group of people continuously for a long time so who knew how he reacted to them when accidentally provoked. Looking to Vegeta as he started to explain what he was needing to do his eyes went to the blocks, giving them a staring at before looking a little confused and embarrassed. “The mortar? I just…lay the bricks out…” he muttered, feeling he wasn’t fully understanding how to do any of this stuff, “This isn’t the same as planting trees, you know…”
Cecil was trying hard to keep going but his energy levels were being pushed pretty hard, especially after trying to defend his friends. They would’ve been in big trouble if he didn’t do that, there would’ve been no way to get Ethan out of there without great injury. He didn’t care that it was draining and made things worse for him, all that mattered was he got them to safety. Trying to throw in his own word to say how he was feeling he didn’t get much feedback, probably because they didn’t know much about how his body. His internal battery running low was a very risky problem that might end with him collapsing and running like this was still draining. He hadn’t been able to find proper fuel for a long time and had been having to burn up organic materials, but that cost fuel as well just to process it. What he really needed was fuel specifically for Machina to get the full effect and hopefully this town had some.

Looking down at Ethan as he gave him his reassurances he looked up ahead, seeing the hill up ahead. All he had to do was get there and that was it, he could put Ethan down and not have to deal with the uphill struggle either. He was struggling already and didn’t need to have the hill being a problem too. Upping his speed some more to try and get there faster it felt like his head was getting heavier to start with his feet failing on a couple of steps every so often. He was trying hard to keep going but thankfully the hill was coming up quick, his salvation almost in sight. He was trying hard to keep going, the longer he continued was starting to feel worse, but he wasn’t about to drop Ethan and fall on top of him.

As the hill came a whole lot closer the distance was completely overestimated in Cecil’s head, his body slowing down in even his mind as his energy gradually died down. When the ground started to become uneven it was then when Cecil really slowed down, coming to a gradual halt before slowly dropping Ethan’s legs so he could stand, letting him go before slowly backing away. He was looking rather tired while his eyes weren’t looking as bright as they used to be, his joints twitching with his movements. “I-I-I c-can’t keep-…I need energy. E-Error: can’t open t-tools…” Another way would be to find somewhere to shut down for a while to gather solar energy, but that would take a day and they didn’t have time for that. Dragging his feet along he simply wanted to get up the hill, his arms looking close to dragging.
