Current People who can just shoot their shot every time are insanely brave. There is always some serious trepidation in messaging strangers hoping to become RP friends, even if you are confident!

Verloren wasn't comfortable the moment Lu left his side, but he couldn't find himself to say anything to stop the small dragon from running off. Or well, couldn't make himself say anything before the other had taken off, anyway. The poison was working its magic, he realized, maybe a bit too well. He worried horridly at what trouble the other might get into, or what if someone discovered what he actually was? Ngh. Just that thought alone made his skin burn with worry. Or maybe that was the fever. Probably both.

He was vaguely aware that a girl had entered the room, it wasn't until she spoke that he even really opened his eyes to look at her. A very faint smile formed on his lips, but he offered a small shrug. He wasn't entirely sure how to answer, he was feeling a lot of things at the moment. On one hand, happy. They were out of the city and probably safe for the time being unless something else happened. But on the other hand, upset. They had just gotten away and he just -had- to go and get infected with the poison- wait. By how was he feeling, she probably meant physically. He suddenly shook his head.

"Kind of like my insides are trying to rot." Ver mumbled out, sucking in a sharp breath before he closed his eyes. "My companion said something about you all being able to help...?" His voice was starting to sound a bit groggy, especially now that he was in bed.
Everything was a blur for Verloren until after he was placed into the bed. His head hurt and his fever had gotten quite worse. By now his ear was throbbing as well and so was his cheek. But thankfully they were not in such as bad as a condition as the rest of him.

"Ugh... Lu... just keep it safe, okay? Don't say anything too weird." Ver managed out in a breath before just shaking his head a bit, slowly tugging off his gloves and kicking off his boots to the side of the bed. He was gross with sweat from his fever, but right now he couldn't help but be kind of happy to be in a bed once again, even though it wasn't the most comfortable, it was a bed. Actually a bed that was much better than the one he had back at his home, sadly enough. The pillow was much softer and the bed itself as made of some kind of very strong, but soft feathers with a cotton sheet over it... it was nice.

"If... If I don't get better or something weird happens, you run though, you hear me?" Ver mumbled out in a very soft voice, turning his head to look at the small dragon beside him. "I kind of wish you were bigger already. But, I am glad you are still this small... its kind of nice. We only need one bed at least." At this point, he seemed to just be rambling as he lifted a hand, starting to scratch at his ear and cheek.
"Ugh. Lu." Verloren managed out between a small breath and a tired sigh. "Just... let me get up."

But the young man fumbled with his words, not even really noticing he had dropped onto the ground. He just kind of lays there for a few moments, slowly lifting a hand up to grab onto one of Lu's arms and give him a small tug. "I can do this. Just... give me a few minutes. It will be suspicious if you try to do it. I can at least pass it off as I am just really sick."

Ver was probably right about that, though. People outside of the village, he had been told, were not familiar with dragons like they were. And Lu still wasn't well versed in the ways of humans, either. Keeping that thought in mind, Ver stubbornly pushed himself up onto his knees and then onto his feet. It didn't take him as long as he thought it would, his willpower to find an actual bed suddenly hitting him upside the head like a sack of bricks. An actual pillow would be nice, with blankets. He did pack enough, but not enough for him to be surviving this poison. Ngh.

Verloren didn't need to be told to rest, it was easy enough for him to slip into a very light slumber while the dragon carried him off down the river. Or to wherever, honestly. He wasn't giving it much attention. His eyes were too heavy to bother any more, or to really focus on anything. Though what he found in his light slumber was not very comforting.

He could hear it very clearly, his parents talking in the other room. They never argued, not aloud, not in front of people, not even in front of him. They only discussed things when he was supposed to be asleep. It was something that he had learned when he was only a few years old, but at the age of five, he understood very easily as to why they never discussed anything in front of anyone. They were very malicious towards everyone but themselves, him, and their dragons. They were never kind when they spoke about anyone else in the city, and tonight was no different. They were talking very heavily about how badly his fathers dragon had been hurt because of someone's stupidity and how stupid it was that the entire wing was broken.

But he was still so small back then, he couldn't stay awake much longer to listen to his parents talk. But he knew something was strange the instant he woke up the next morning. There were strangers in his home, going through things, shaking him, asking him questions, asking him where his parents were, where their dragons were. He didn't have answers, obviously. He was only five and now in tears. Just where had they gone, his parents? And why did they leave him behind with only Lu?

Ver jolted awake though and gripped onto Lu tightly as he was sluggishly brought along, mumbling something very faintly about his parents before his eyes drifted closed once again. Though his legs still moved, sort of. He was kind of functional, but at the same time, not really.

Get him to agree to a night drinking with Tommie, seeing who'll get to ask Sunny out on a date first, only to end up dying of alcohol poisoning before realising Tommie had been tossing her drinks over her shoulder. XD

Totally. Approved.
@Shadowcatcher
Feel free to kill my guy off, just do it epically. Or make him fall down some stairs with a casual 'Oops'. Or something. RL obligations are currently dragging me around by the ears. Really sorry for not saying anything sooner, I have not had much time to get on here. I'll still be keeping an eye on this, just won't be able to participate.
"Sorry." Verloren mumbled out, merely allowing Lu to go about as he pleased. He wasn't really thirsty, oddly enough. Even with his fever, which was strange. He should need to be drinking a lot of water right now. But then again, it could have simply been an effect of the poison the arrows were coated in. He suddenly wished he had been able to stay and study them a bit more, maybe he might understand how to deal with all of it a bit better... being poisoned like this was absolutely a dreadful thing. He was just thankful that dragons were immune to it though. He wasn't sure how well he would deal with Lu being sick like this. Could dragons even really get fevers when they were this young?

Verloren seemed to be in a bit of a fog as he climbed onto Lu's back once again, carefully avoiding catching himself on any of the dragons scales or spikes. Thankfully he didn't need the dragons help to get on his back, it would have been just a bit embarrassing in all honesty. At least for Verloren. "I imagine that the village is probably somewhere in this forest, or just past it, away from the city." He nodded lightly, pointing down river. "Since the river is here, I imagine they made the village along side the river so irrigation was easier."
"Ruby?" Verloren asked, slowly tilting his head to get a better view of the necklace Lu held in his hands. His dark grey gaze narrowed for a few moments as he stared intently at the strange stone. "You know, I have never seen something like that before either. And that is saying something, seeing as I collected stones when I was little. It looks like there is some kind of... liquid inside of it, almost. Maybe a tigers opal or something? I am sure there are all kinds of things out here we have not seen yet though... huh. Can I see it?"

Ver asked, holding out his hand for the stone, though after a moment he lifted his hand up to lightly scratch at the bandage that covered his face. It was feeling better, but he was still warm to the touch, even he noticed now with his own hand after just brushing over the side of his face that was not covered. Maybe his fever was a bit worse than he expected. Ugh. Though it did faintly pop into his mind that the guards of the village did use special arrows sometimes. Arrows dipped and crafted with special metal and herbs that could cause problems for those hit with them. It didn't effect dragons, for obvious reasons. As no dragon would leave behind their rider, so if they got the rider, the dragon was not a problem unless it enraged. UGH. Why had he not remembered that sooner? The effects wouldn't last too long, but if it interfered with the healing of the wounds and caused his once small fever to get worse...

"You know... I know you said you wouldn't carry me on your back until we went to the village, but. You might need to carry me there anyway. At least until we are in walking distance of it. My fever is getting kind of worse. We should, uhm... get going to start looking for that village as soon as possible." Ver dropped his hand from his face and frowned a bit. "It wouldn't be a good idea to stress myself too much, or it could get a lot worse."
