Dimitri sat up and wiped away the flecks of blood that had stained his forehead from the attack. "Aw crud, probably shouldn't have done it that hard." He muttered with concern. Before Dimitri had the opportunity to see if Molly was alright, he felt a series of thumps that forced him off of his target. The cyborg grimaced as Shane laid into him, though Dimitri was more annoyed than concerned given his lack of pain receptors, "Oi, knock it off! I've got enough dents as it is man!" He growled, still preferring not to be near Shane given what had transpired earlier. A blur of movement caught Dimitri's eye, one that looked worryingly like the same guy that had caused the twisters. "He's on the offensive!" Dimitri thought, the words lighting in his brain like a neon sign. The cyborg interrupted Shane's assault by grabbing his opponent's shirt and decking him in the nose with a solid jab, however he was too slow to properly react to the sonic boom that knocked him off of his feet. Dimitri tumbled down the stairs with Shane still in his grip, using Shane as a pillow to soften the falls. His concern for Molly was now taking a back seat to Vector's choice of attack "So he wants to have a sound battle? I'm game as soon as i'm back up." Dimitri mused as he and Shane came to a halt.
In a slightly more secluded section of the forest, Jacque was hard at work tending to his garden, ripping away weeds and shifting the soil with his hands. "The weather is surprisingly nice this time of year, a good omen if i've ever seen one. It even looks as though most of my berry bushes will be bearing fruit upon my return from globe trotting. Here's hoping the animals don't get into them, eh?", he inquired as he looked up at the smiling face of his adopted daughter Laura. Or rather, looked up at a smiling portrait of her anyway. Jacque sighed heavily as another pang of loneliness hit him. It had been nearly a month since he'd sent off his little girl to become a ranger, and yet the feeling of loss never dulled when he thought of her. "I hope that your training is going well child. I miss-", Jacque paused as he heard something far off in the distance, it was faint like the sound of thunder in the distance, yet distinctly different. "Guess that's my cue to get on the road. Wherever that sound was seems like a good place to start" Jacque said as he wiped off his hands and picked up his daughter's portrait and stuffed it into the pack he kept his herbs in. With a soft grunt, the man stood to his feet and stretched a bit to loosen up. He checked his supplies to ensure everything was in order, and then Jacque was off. The ranger moved like a blur through the forest, his legs carrying him at the sorts of speeds that would nearly put a thoroughbred race horse to shame. It had been far too long since Jacque Marrow had traveled abroad, he just hoped the world once more held new and exciting things for him to bear witness to.
Dimitri growled in annoyance as his sound waves were redirected back at him, prompting the cyborg to slide back a bit. His body, having been modified to handle the strain of his powers absorbed the attack with little issue, however it still served as an unwelcome hindrance. As he realized that nearly everyone had climbed to the top and engaged each other in a mad battle for supremacy. "Alright, kid gloves comin' off!" He barked as he pounded his fists together and ran to the top. Once reaching his destination, Dimitri singled out Molly, as she was currently distracted with Violet. Under normal circumstances, Dimitri wasn't one for attacking someone when they weren't looking, however her powers were definitely one of the more tricky ones to deal with. Couple that with the fact that time and options were running out, Dimitri found the resolve to fight dirtier than he would have liked. The cyborg strode over to the distracted young woman, leaned over, and clasped his hands over her ears, wincing as he felt his hands grow extremely heavy at such close proximity. The gravity being as dense as it was coupled with Molly's retaliation to Violet's attack forced him onto his knees, however that would not deter him. Rather than blasting her with sound, Dimitri reared back as far as he could -"Pay back for the dent!"- and lunged forward, head butting the back of her skull with a loud *crack*.
I might have ninajd... so much is happening that idk what I posted.
Things are indeed getting chaotic. If it helps, you could try doing what I used to prior to getting better at multitasking. When things got hectic, i'd pull out a sheet of paper and read through the posts, then scribble down the names of characters and draw an arrow to connect the names of characters that are currently or just finished interacting with specific characters. Based on current posts it would go something like this: Vector---->Violet (finished) - current N/A Molly---->Dimitri (finished) and James (on going) Dimitri---->Vector (on going) and (potentially) Ariella Jami & Bear---->N/A Violet---->Vector(finished) - current N/A It's a bit tricky and might be a bit time consuming depending on how quickly you write, but it's definitely effective.
Dimitri clucked his tongue as Vector recovered and came into the competition in an unfortunately large way. "Twisters!? You made TWISTERS?! Oh come o-" *CLANG*. Dimitri was cut off as a rather large metal sphere struck him in the gut, knocking the air out of him with a loud 'whoof'. Dimitri fell back and clutched his stomach instinctively despite his lack of nerve endings. The cyborg lay stunned for a few seconds before he finally raised his head and lifted his hands, then grimaced at the baseball sized dent in his abdominal region, "That's gonna be a two person fix...joy.". Dimitri slowly stood to his feet once more and wheezed a bit, chalking the dent up as another reason not to feel as bad for his previous attack. Once more Dimitri made his way towards the top of the pyramid, being mindful of the cyclones that twisted about, flinging debris in their wake like so much rubbish. He glanced at each of his opponents, then, thinking quickly, ran diagonally until Vector and Ariella were lined up. "Upping the ante this time. Sorry about this man." Dimitri said as he aimed at Vector and fired another low frequency dB blast to nauseate his target. This was perfect for Dimitri, he knew that there was a high likelihood of Vector moving out of the way, however if he did, then his teammate would suffer the consequences.
Dimitri barely registered what James had said before Violet pushed him to the side. The cyborg felt a bit indignant at first, however the sound of beads rushing down tipped him off to the fact that she'd helped him rather than rejecting his assistance. "Alright, time to get back to work." Dimitri said as he noticed Shane making his ascent. The cyborg contemplated blasting him again, but after what had just occurred, he found himself somewhat hesitant to deal with the teen again. Dimitri instead focused his attention on the two that had come to Shane's aid. "Hope you ladies haven't eaten recently, other wise this is going to be messy!" He shouted as he aimed his sound emitters at them and activated them. This time rather than a piercing sound, the room was filled with a low frequency hum. Dimitri smirked as he aimed not for Molly and Ariella's heads, but for their stomachs, intent on causing them some rather unpleasant nausea from the infrasound that he was producing.
Name: Jacque Marrow Nickname(optional): N/A Age: 43 Gender: Male Powers: Longevity, decreased aging speed, the collective strength, speed, and senses of a large bear Species: Werebear (born rather than cursed) Appearance(s): As a human (he stand's at 6'3") - As a werebear (he stands at 12'2") Crush: None Relationship: Adoptive father Spouse(Because I wanted to XD): None Children(same as above): An adopted wood elf daughter whom he misses dearly Personality: A somewhat staunch man who although willing to work with others tends to keep to himself. Jacque is quite shrewd and has seen many strange things in his travels, and has become quite worldly as a result. He often prefers to let people make their mistakes on their own so that they might learn from them in the future, though he'll occasionally give assistance and advice when the mood strikes him. Jacque is known to be loyal to a fault to those that earn his trust, though he has little patience for ignorance or arrogance even from friends. History(optional): A ranger during his earlier years, Jacque was prone to hopping between adventuring groups and was highly nomadic, usually staying in one place long enough to either to complete a goal with his current group or rest. For a while everything was good; he met interesting people, saw interesting things, and even made enough money to ensure he'd never have to work a day in his life, and yet something felt as though it was missing. After over a decade of adventuring, Jacque found that he'd lost the spark that he'd had in his youth, and eventually decided to settle down in a little village where the coast met the forest. Jacque enjoyed his new life style, though he found it to be a bit lonelier after having been accustomed to being accompanied by groups of people. He originally attempted to find a girl to settle down with, however he never really connected with anyone he courted. Jacque then turned to option two: adopting a kid to raise as his own, planning at first to adopt a boy, but settling instead on a scrappy little elf girl named Laura. Jacque raised Laura the ranger's way, teaching her to be strong and resourceful, and when she was of age and expressed interest, he eventually sent her to the Ranger's Guild where he had learned his trade. To his surprise, Jacque found that raising Laura to become a ranger had rekindled the spark he had lost, and decided once more to set out for more adventure. Other: He's terrified of crows and ravens and carries three things on him constantly: A talisman that prevents transformations, a picture of his daughter, and a bag filled with herbs "Let the games begin." Also a question; Would you mind the starting island being where Jacque made his home?
Dimitri panted softly as he stared down at Shane's unconscious form, "What was that?" he asked shakily, speaking more so to himself than anyone around him. He felt nauseous, his stomach churned a bit too violently to his liking. Quite frankly it was the first time in a while that Dimitri was grateful he hadn't eaten. A series of scrabbling to his left and just above him alerted Dimitri to two things: Violet was once more on the move, and Molly and Ariella had come to Shane's aid. Remembering once more the point of the exercise Dimitri climbed the stairs himself and supported Violet, wrapping one arm around her waist while placing one of her arms around his shoulder. "Thanks for the assist, how ya holdin' up there slugger?" Dimitri inquired, putting on a somewhat strained smile as he helped her up the pyramid.
Damn I missed the action. Sorry for late reply guys.
S'all good, life calls upon us all at one point or another. Sometimes we have to prioritize the important stuff rather than compromise for the sake of what we may consider fun.
Within seconds of being tossed away like a toy Dimitri hit the ground with a rather loud clang, his sound emitters shutting off abruptly as his concentration was broken. The cyborg slowly sat up, his adrenaline still pumping, but having for the most part regained his senses. "Ok...ow, felt my brain rattle with that one. What happened?", he groaned as he looked around. His vision was fuzzy for a bit, however the moment it cleared up, he immediately remembered what had transpired. The creature that had made him lose control was standing before him, now hanging Violet with her own necklace like some sort of miniature facsimile of a noose. Dimitri hopped to his feet and clenched his fists tightly. This thing terrified him, Dimitri felt no shame in acknowledging it, however despite his instincts screaming at him to flee, he couldn't bring himself to do so knowing what would happen to Violet. With a shout that caused his voice to crack a bit, Dimitri ran around the creature and jumped onto its back. "LET HER GO!", Dimitri screamed as he clapped both hands over where he assumed it's ears to be and unleashed an eighty dB sonic blast. Dimitri would have gone louder to cause some real pain, however with Violet so close, he opted instead to try and keep it at a level that would hopefully at least deter the creature.
