As someone who works for a pet store I both love and hate pixar. The next person that tries to ask me if we have "a dory fish" for their goldfish bowl is getting straight up clubbed like a baby seal

Jacque turned his head marginally as he heard someone trail behind him, however he never stopped or changed his pace. It was the woman from earlier whom had freaked out about the advancing scientist looking fellow. "Uh...hi? Is there something I can help you with?". Jacque's stride finally slowed a bit as he noticed something off about Eva. Upon his initial viewing of her he'd simply assumed that the stuff covering her arms and legs were merely either a pair of gloves and stockings or a full body suit under her clothing. As he watched them reflect light as she moved he began to reconsider that assumption. That scientific curiosity of his began to rise up again. Were they some sort of prosthetics? What was their composition? What sort of properties did they hold? He momentarily considered asking her in order to quench his curiosity, however Jacque managed to bite his tongue for the time being. He didn't know this person, nor did he know how she would react to his interest in her limbs. At best it would probably be considered rude, or at worst he'd end up insulting Eva if it turned out that she was an amputee like he was now.
@VKAllen Yeah, I kind of miss that rp, welcome to the working world though! May I ask what pray tell said new hobby is?
Long time since we've spoken VK. How are things?

Edited my post so as to actually have him walk away after giving his name.
[twelve minutes prior to bus arrival]
"Alright, already the show goes on all night, til the morning we dream so long~" Dimitri sang as he stood in front of the kitchen oven and eagerly awaited the egg timer's signal to remove the treats inside. There was no need to scramble to get ready; he'd made sure to set his alarm for an hour and a half before the bus was to arrive, giving him plenty of time to prepare both himself and the batch of cookies he was baking. The boy brushed a bit of flour off of his purple shirt and grey jeans before resuming his vigil over the baked goods. All that was left now was to wait for that tell tale ring. As if on queue the timer went off, prompting a soft smile from the boy. Dimitri opened the oven door, and found himself greeted by the sight of a two dozen cookies; chocolate chip and snickerdoodles specifically. The boy reached in with his bare hand, seemingly heedless of the searing heat. The air was filled with the sweet sent of baked treats and the sound of metal against metal as Dimitri pulled out the large tray, revealing his hand to be coated in a metallic substance that shined luminously under the kitchen lighting. "Alright, they came out pretty good!" he chirped happily as he set the tray on top of the oven and closed the oven door. As he waited for the cookies to cool off, Dimitri set out a tupperware container and ran upstairs to grab his supplies for the day.

As he passed by one of the rooms to get to his at the end of the hall he caught a glimpse of his mother typing away on her work laptop and listening in to a telework meeting. Dimitri softly tapped on the door and held up his nonmetallic hand to give her the "I love you" sign in sign language. His mother grinned, however she was forced to respond to a question sent her way rather than say something to Dimitri himself. The boy moved into his room and swiftly grabbed his supplies: phone, wallet, keys, bag, epipen, everything was accounted for. He spared a moment to break off the metal covering his hand into the small garbage pail in his room before plodding back out and downstairs, being careful not to make too much noise. Dimitri gently but rapidly placed the cookies he baked in the container and shot out of the door like a bolt, just barely hearing his mother call out to him to have a good day before the door was shut.

[present time]
"Hold the bus, hold the bus!" Dimitri called out as he made a beeline for the bus. The boy somewhat clumsily made it onto the stairs after seeing another person get on. He wasn't quite able to get a full look at the other one, as he ended up a bit too preoccupied with gripping the bus' railing to prevent landing face first on the floor or dropping his cookies. Rather than being embarrassed by his near faceplant, Dimitri simply kept up his smile as he moved into the bus, taking a window seat in the third row. His seating secured Dimitri fidgeted with excitement for a brand new year of school before he took note of the steam that had begun filling the tupperware container and popped open the lid to prevent the cookies from getting soggy from the moisture.
@yukisaa I believe Saarebas remarking on the fact that you said "A large school" made to look like a bus in the first post. It makes it seem as though you're saying the school itself looks like a bus.
Jacque continued to watch everything transpire without speaking, although he couldn't help but cringe at the sound of one of the girls wailing about someone named Zarr, whom he could only assume to be the deranged doctor. As more people began to cluster around the area Jacque turned his head a bit to get a look at his fellow volunteers just as one of the girl's introduced herself as Tori. Jacque debated giving his name as well out of courtesy, however another person that appeared to be a bit young for the project appeared on the scene and spoke before the two made their departure for their living quarters. "Well-" Jacque began before he took another puff from his pen, "So much for the proper meet n' greet. I'm Jacque. It's nice to meet you all, I guess.". Jacque didn't bother waiting for a response, rather he simply turned on his heel to find his own living quarters to unpack.
Been meaning to ask, is there going to be a general plot to this RP, or will be more of a "slice of life" type with no main plot?
@Cuccoruler Eh, in truth i've sort of begun losing interest in this Rp. It just seems a bit more rushed than what i'm used to dealing with. I mean sure it's great for making sure it doesn't stagnate, but i'm used to a slightly slower flow. tl;dr, I sort of planned to drop out and didn't know how to phrase it til now.
It's almost like these two balance each other's emotions out, because Kassy just put Dimitri on cloud nine with that 'you're my friend' bit. Stubborn bastard's only friend for the last few years was a lizard, so that's kind of a big deal to him.
Dimitri fumed silently as he let Kassy enter the house without a word of retaliation, at least this time around he was still ornery enough to have kept him from becoming flustered by being kissed a second time. Further adding to the list of things he'd never admit was the fact that he honestly didn't have a full on rebuttal to what she'd said. She had him beaten on all points. Again. He waited until she was out of his view before tilting his head up towards the darkening sky, "FUCK!". He slumped down in his seat and brooded for a bit before looking under the table at Regis, whom had finished he treat and stared expectantly at Dimitri for more, "You know you're going to get fat and start breaking those branches in your tank if you keep eating like that, don't you?". If the lizard could somehow understand what was being said, he certainly didn't show it. Rather, Regis began to crawl up into Dimitri's lap and nuzzle Dimitri's stomach with his snout, a moderately endearing habit that the reptile had learned netted him treats many times in the past.

Dimitri rolled his eyes and pulled the lamb chop from his plate, "Ugh. Fine, you scaly little lard. Just take the damn thing and leave me be, will you?". He'd scarcely finished talking before Regis claimed the meat and scurried back under the table to eat. With his pet preoccupied Dimitri got up and began to clean up the mess. 'You won't retaliate because you're my friend.'. Dimitri paused, his hand hovered over a plate as those words replayed in his head. A mixture of emotions that hadn't been felt since before he'd gotten into the hero business churned about in his head as he tried to gauge the weight in those words. How many years had it been since he'd had a friend? He didn't even know anymore. Even his relationship with Gizmo whom had built him his new arm was more in line with that of a friendly business partner than it being a legitimate friendship. Dimitri felt an odd lightness and warmth in his stomach. It took a few seconds to process the sensation before he realized what the sensation was: he was happy. More than that he was relieved that Kassy had said it herself rather than him just assuming.

He reveled in the warmth of the feeling before realizing that there was something off about the situation. There was a certain look in her eye, before she'd came closer to him, one that reminded him a bit of the look he saw in his own before he'd met her. Every morning that look would be reflected back at him in the bathroom mirror of his apartment. Dimitri dwelled on this a bit as he brought the plates and utensils inside to wash them, though he still clung to that warm feeling for as long as he could.
